It's really cool that you played through Shadow Dancer while doing your run through of the Shinobi series as it's such a over looked classic and most people dont even realize that this game even exists, so cool to see a play through of it after all these years. Cool channel man.

I loved this game since I bought it in 1991, I always saw it as pretty much a "remake" of the original, rather than a sequel. I did always wonder what the deal was with SoJ putting original MD games such as Shadow Dancer and E.S.W.A.T out, instead of doing arcade conversions. The Master System got the arcade conversions and the MD got original games. I still hate SEGA for not doing a SEGA AGES Shinobi collection on the PS2. Same with Golden Axe. It is a crime that they were not released as both series were so bloody popular in their day, and continue to be. Shinobi and Golden Axe were also two of SEGA's biggest arcade games in the 80's/90's. The fact that shit like "The Dual" was the last real Golden Axe game makes me incredibly sad. Revenge of Death Adder should have been on the Saturn instead. Damn I love that game!
I recall getting this game early in the UK before it’s release and it was about the time the US were waging war on Saddam. I don’t know why but the images in the intro of the burning sky behind the twin towers, gave me a chill at the time. I envisioned plenty of death and destruction, when I should have been more joyous having owned a new game. Now several years on, the twin towers have been bombed and several lives lost in the process. Uncanny 😢
When I played this game on arcade I was so envious to get the exact same game on the Medadrive/Genesis console but I realize now that the console version is far better, at least in terms of graphics and style. Hah! On the bonus stage, hated the fact that you could simply put the character on the side to hit all targets easily... pff
