  • Another project of mine, an older, personal one rather than for university.
    I started this during my mid year break before my second semester last year. I spent around 2 weeks of my holidays working on it, and I eventually stopped since the second semester started.
    Even though everything has UDIMs, no ngons, clean but dense wireframes, and way too many polys, I couldn't let this one go unnoticed, especially for how (I hope it does) good it can look in grayscale, and after all the work I put into it. This has been sitting on my machine for half a year untouched since mid 2023. Looking at this now, it's quite the learning experience for me. I know what not to do going forward into 3D Game Art, rather than films.
    I managed to get all the modelling done. I used the games photomode to grab references, and a royalty free character model for scale. At the time however, I was working on this before I gained further knowledge on what it takes to optimise assets for a game engine. By the time I finished my first year of uni, I realised how much more work would have to be done to get it imported into UE5 without having my machine clog up.
    I was debating in my mind whether I should keep going with this or not. Right now I need to flesh out my portfolio, and I simply want to move onto newer projects.
