Lake Conroe is one of the raw water sources for Houston’s drinking water. I worked on one of the environmental surveys of the watershed prior to reservoir construction. I carried a small baggy of HTH, a dry form of chlorine (calcium hypochlorite) normally used in swimming pools along with a deflagrating spoon for adding a few crystals to each quart for about 10-15 ppm of free chlorine. Pro tip: When drinking from ponds, puddles, and creeks in Texas carry Imodium tablets to counteract periodic blowouts.🦋
As you get older conditioning disappears faster and faster. Also, I would have thought the best hunting would be at dawn and dusk. Last: Guthooks needs to add this trail.

Again another excellent through hike or in this case a mini through hike or micro but isn't it interesting to find a skeleton in a tree not more than 3 ft above your head and then you sit and wonder on the tiniest branches that it's on how in the world did it even get there

Woo taters Tuesday again! How is the elevation on trail? Seems to me to be like anything you'd find in Florida?
As far as numbers the Ft topped out at 273 while this one was at 445. But as a western state hiker both are about equally as flat :)
