I feel like there’s a huge difference between the first season and now. Y’all were like joking and forgetting peoples names and now you’re like *locked in* and speculating and predicting and debating pride/honor. It’s great to see!
@@patrickimperial579 you’d be surprised. There are tons of reactors that don’t get engaged like this at all. They just do GOT cause it’s popular. I remember this one girl who was getting Sansa’s name wrong *in season 8* and forgot that she married Tyrion. You’re giving reactors too much credit, this kind of engagement is rare and deserves praise 😊
Cersie told Lancel to make sure King Robert was shit faced on his hunt. Trying to make sure he got killed. When the boar charged at Robert, he was super drunk and missed when he tried to spear it. If you go back to those scenes, Lancel frequently offers Robert more wine.
He wanted his people to get south of the wall. He wanted them to have land. And he was willing to have the free folk fight for the right to get south of the wall and to own that land. But when Stannis offers exactly that, he declines. Stannis offered Mance all Mance ever wanted, and he said no because he would have to bend the knee in front of the free folk. He might've thought that he would've lost their respect, but I don't think the free folk would've cared much as long as they were allowed passed the wall and given land. Sure, the men would have to fight the Bolton army, but what about the women and children like Jon said? I loved Mance at his character, but no matter what he said, it literally was his pride and fear that made him refuse to agree to a treaty that would've seen his people safely brought south.
@@MFBloosh And he said he'd rather die than have his men fight in a foreigners war, but if he refuses they will all die anyway and fight for the white walkers. The part where Mance survives and goes south that they cut out from the books makes this character choice in the show make no sense at all. He kind of just dies for literally nothing.
He's still alive in the books. The Red Lady's magic makes everyone believe that the Lord of Bones is really Mance and that they are seeing him burn. Stannis doesn't know, but Jon does. Gilly is also taking care of Mance's baby, along with her own. Both are considered to have King's blood by Melisandre. I wish that the show hadn't changed the storyline. I understand why they did because of time, but I think it's an interesting part. Mance was at Winterfell when King Robert was there, and he went back to Winterfell to help Jon. His status is unknown at the end of the last book.
Believe me I've been watching tons of GoT reactors the last 3 months and you two gotta be the only ones whot got that little brat was Cercei so quickly!

Mance Rayder has a prehistoric snuffleupagus look to him. Great comments and review as always. I especially appreciate your near one hour of content that you generously share with us.❤
Love how quickly you guys suspected that was Cersei at the start of the episode. Lol. I love seeing that bit of Cersei's past and more of the lore/world building that scene gives us.
Yes baby! Mance is a man of honor. It's not as simple as just kneeling - freefolk way of life means they don't serve anyone they don't choose. If they follow Stannis they have to worship Stannis' god - the Lord of Light. They have to go to war at his command whenever he says all for a country that has always hated them
The boar did kill Robert, but she had him drug his wine on his hunt. That boar would've never touched him if he had only been his usual level of drunkeness. But Lancel did two things, at the behest of Cersei: He drugged the wine, making it 3 times as strong, and she had Lancel offer it to him constantly. So he drank double what he would have on one of his hunts. Robert would've easily bested the boar like he did on any other hunt with boars.
29:07 There are a lot of great, detailed maps of Westeros and Essos that would be cool for you two to check out. They definitely helped me have a much better understanding on where everything is and how far locations in the show are from one another.
y'all wrong about mance rider. he was not being prideful he stood for his beliefs and his knowledge. even if stannis wins the seven kingdoms, mance knew his people would be treated like trash. even if stannis loses his war, mance's people would pay their lives to that lose. up above all mance knew stannis isn't going to win the war against lannisters. because stannis was acting like a war hungry robot who didn't show any emotions or compassion. so fighting for that kind of lord only would bring misery to mance people. mance didn't see a true leader in stannis that's why he chose the fire.
Personally after season 4 I thought season 5 started a bit slow. Looking back now I can appreciate it and realized I kind of needed a reset. Season 4 was such a wild ride the beginning of this season was kind of like taking a deep breath. And Im glad cuz it really starts cooking again at the end.
Mance's whole vibe is just that your life should be your own, and you shouldn't be sent off to die in another man's war... If he kneels he's also handing over the lives of all "his" people, which he reckons aren't his to give
the difference between the two is that when Negan announces himself he just says "I'm Negan" . Daenerys however 🤣 Daenerys Targaryen : The First of Her Name,Queen of the seven kingdoms the Unburnt, Queen of Meereen, Queen of the Andals and the Rhoynar and the First Men, Khalisee of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons. that and she only has one lover .

Essos, Pentos, Braavos and all the other "Free cities" are supposed to be the equivalent of the countries around the mediterranean sea in real life. Something thats not shown in the show is Tywins body stinks so much it can't be covered, and people can't even stand through the funeral because of it.
