the symmetra rework we all wanted
Idk who "we all" are, I'm happy with current Sym, but now that this hero is here I'm happier. Maybe people can stop complaining about Sym to be a full healer now.
Not only that, Lifeweaver feels like a Sym rework too. It makes me wonder what Blizz has been doing this whole time, and why they are letting actual Sym languish.

This hero actually looks super fun, they keep adding high skill ceiling characters though which I guess is cool for longevity's sake
I think Illari is very cool and definitely healthy for the game. Having more support is gonna make games feel so much more unique rather than constant mercy games with a kiri or ana

she is def high ceiling. i think she is sorta kitted towards pve content as well.

I always defualt to Ana and half the time I out snipe her. Still takes 3 shots and I get a scope
Its a least risky matchup as a support. As Lucio you have to go too deep in backline and its a big question wherther you will get out or not. Kiriko is projectile so if widow nows shes a target she ma easily avoid getting hit. Ana is rly good but doesnt have movement which makes it just a little bit riskier than Illari

The movement ability also has some weird techs that make her similar to doom in terms of that aspect, especially when she can turn around the corner like the original turn slam doom used to do. GetQuakedOn pretty much explains that in pretty good detail and that some of this newfound tech is so helpful

Everyone tries to get Illari asap at hero select but it’s sooo nice playing with my duo partner. We both pick support and just take turns. Whoever goes first with Illari the other plays Moira and then the next match it reverses and repeats. We both main both Moira and Illari for support so it’s a perfect matchup. I just hope they don’t nerf Illari too much before she’s available for ranked

I've felt that it was essential in more grounded shooters, but have seen less talk or use of it in OW due to easy access to verticality and wide difference between target shapes.

Illari ult is imo the fastest charging ult ive seen, there have been times where i have managed to pop it off 4-5 times per game
If the pylon takes damage you can heal it with your beam as well.

I’ve worked with targeting at Widow with the same technique and it works like magic🤭
Here is the movement break down for better understanding of her Shift which is the reason I fall in love:
Tap Shift +WASD movement NO SPACE-> Basically if you want to move fast in 1 direction, this give you the fastest movement. Also you can HOLD SPACE AFTER you do the above for Bhopping. Thanks Get quaked on for tips
SPACE+SHIFT+WASD-> This grant you moderate height, if you want to get on some small platform while also benefit from moving movement thanks to shift boost
SPACE+ Hold Shift + WASD IN BETWEEN -> To get the highest height, you want to hold shift after you press space. But you don't want to PRESS WASD when you press Shift. You want to SPACE+HOLD SHIFT then after you Shift, you can press WASD movement-> this will give you highest height +moving to direction of the platform you want

When can I use her in ranks?
Played 5 games with her and lost all of them. It's weird cuz I had same damage as my dps, and most healing in the lobby. Def need to see what exactly I could be doing wrong.

Damage=/=elims which is always more important, but sometimes there are those games that one misplay or one really good play make or break.
What are you aiming for? if youre just shooting tank or dps its not going to do much. Kill the supports and you win the fight
What i've found with Illari is that she has very nice looking stats, but that doesn't necessarily always correlate to an amazing game. With pylon you get a tonne of healing, but a lot of that will be from poke healing, which is good, but not as game changing as saving someone from death, for example.
im a gm5 hitscan(widowmaker) player so im very capable of not just doing poke but actually getting kills without ult @@henrikfitch4017
You can change her pylon to deploy and destroy to the same button
You forgot zenyatta’s ult also doesn’t charge fast. He needs 2300~ ult points. He’s in the top 3 of highest ult requirements

one thing i absolutely struggle with when it comes to illari is her ult, i always die when i use her ult, do you have any tips on how to position? or could it just be my aim? like maybe i cant hit a headshot fast enough?
Maybe you're stretching yourself too thin trying to get a 5k chain reaction, you can focus on one or two people, go for full charge + low charge body shots to guarantee the explosion, or pick someone close to your team, since their damage can also trigger the explosion. Also don't stand there floating where everyone can see you, if you select a person to ult, move around so the rest of the team can't see you as easily, since you're glowing in the sky during the ult

To be fair during OW1 we also didnt´get information about the hero which was introduced at Blizzcon right? Therefore the surprise who it´s going to be was bigger. But I also get that if we would have gotten some gameplay-trailer plus the origin-story before the launch of this season they may could have hyped her up more.

today someone told me my illani is bad... but i was winning the whole day and i think we even won that match... but for some reason it hurt me... especially bc i thought that i was actually rlly good at her for how shortly she came out

Had this happen to me. Moria challenges me to a 1v1 I just sit there healing off pylon while Moria tries to suck me to death to no success 😂

To add on to what you were saying about hero interactions I think a good habit to have when playing illari would be to not look at where you’re going when using your shift (if you’re aware of where you are). Since the knock back only happens from the front it’s better to use your shift backwards to push the enemy back while also giving yourself some space. For example at 7:00 if you were to time your shift right before the Winston slam you’d be able to push him back in the air while also getting away and avoiding some damage. Easier said than done tho,illari is gonna be fun against Winston!

On New Junk City 9:29 (The timestamp is so you know what im talking about, and if you already knew this/do this, then disregard this comment) The little circle above you, on the point you were fighting on, I put my pylon there, and it was really broken XD I got like 7 saves cause it kept healing my team XD
