Do you think you could do a more detailed follow up on the Bafang booth? They seem to be making a lot of progress in putting out more affordable mid drive motors that are getting closer and closer to the European offerings. But they don't seem to get nearly the same coverage even though interest is extremely high due to the multitude of people looking for more affordable offerings.
Do any manufacturers have anti theft tech? How hard would it be to stop electronics not work without a key or digital keypad. They could incorporate wireless activation via a phone or other device.
Bosch have had one for a few years but have released a newer version incorporated with your mobile phone. Check out you tube channel with his latest on Bosch
Hey. If you have more recorded content from the show please feel free to share it! I'm interested in Cargo bikes, and not only the eBikes. Can you also tell your Tern friends to release IGH version of the BYB folder?
I would love to find an internally geared bafang rear hub drive that would fit in my Rize bike frame. Wondering if it's available somewhere and doable. There is SO much stuff out there, near impossible to keep track.
Do you know the website for the Easy Bike or Easy Ride . The Rayvolt bike are nice. All they need to do is at suspension to the rear of the Ringo and that would be a way better bike.
I'm new to the electric bike world. I ride motorcycles but I'm wanting to buy a electric bike. So what I want is one thats really fast. What's the fastest one they have and how much would it cost in American dollars?
That eXXXcite android display looks like a DM100 smartwatch slapped onto the bike. That might just be a demo/proof of concept.Would like to see and actual display instead of a repurposed watch.
True. And knowing how short a life Android phones have, like 2 years tops, I don't think building that display in so it's not removable is such a good idea. When it breaks you'll need to replace the whole bike.
so what you supposed to do if out mid ride and thumb print doesnt work !! and integrated screens even if open source mean 1 place to buy replacment if it goes bad - thats just stupid
Pretty cool but way too many people trying to reinvent the wheel, if you’ll excuse the expression. 😆 Smartphone integration is frustratingly still in its infancy with nobody offering a glitch free experience yet. Mainly because they’re trying to make standalone proprietary apps rather than bridging apps to connect bike systems to existing apps using Android or iOS. Rayvolt sound like they might be on the right track. Also these small operators need to outsource & white label more. You either get brands trying to do everything (except gears & brakes maybe) and then you get others that simply stick their name onto something from Alibaba. A middle way is much more interesting for the consumer.
hello, I would like to know what you think of the electric brompton bicycle, I have always liked its design and the way it folds, the only thing that made me stop buy that bicycle is that it does not have a display on the handlebars to be able to raise or lower the ways to help, I would appreciate it if you could give me your opinion when you have time, greetings and I congratulate you for the very interesting report 😊👌✨💫
I have one and I love it. It's got a few quirks but nothing too bothersome. To change mode you just have one button to press at the top of the battery. It's safer to stop when you do it as it's indeed not on the handlebar, but if you use this bike in a city, you stop at street lights and crossings often enough that it's not a problem. I highly recommend it if you're looking for something light and easy to take with you everywhere. If you want something more sturdy, say to carry a kid on it for example, and more weatherproof, then a Bosch-powered bike might be a better pick.
I have an eco-trick Hammer bike it's all I could afford and boy would I like to have one of those sidecars to carry stuff and go camping man that would be amazing. There must be a way to make a sidecar for my bike. I wouldn't have people in it I would have camping gear
Davil here, I have been back and forth with Mikey G. on his show Electrek Daily, he mentioned tha I was chosen for a Ebike. I have kept in touch with him, and he says he has repeatedly tried to mention this to the ones in charge for this. Can you get back to me on this? Davil Davil 3 weeks ago Mikey Always great E news! I especially love your end comments. I hope your channel continues to grow to the moon and beyond. Don’t forget about the Ebike you had mentioned I was chosen for. Thanks again. Have a great week. Electrek Daily · Electrek Daily Electrek Daily 3 weeks ago I'm not in charge of any bike giveaway. I've mentioned this several times
All these production bikes are distinctions w/o difference. Don’t care about frame style, innovative brakes, displays, and so on. The only thing that’s truly interesting is power and speed. Nobody cares about latest neat looking bikes with same ole 500-1000w powertrains.
*You might not care but a lot of us do care about other aspects of a bike beyond its battery. You don't just ride the battery, you ride the whole bike.
Even though Europe is a lot smaller than North America, they get the coolest new e bikes. Here we' have to accept whatever China decides to build and send over here.
Initial response: Got this bike for my friend. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ Delivery was fast. And the friend was surprised I would order it when she had never suggested she wanted anything but the pedal bike she had. She has now ridden the bike two times and gives it a 10 and says it is very fun. We have some hills in our town that are very challenging to climb on a typical bike. But tonight she went up with the pedal assist and loved it. I was way behind on my standard bike, huffing and puffing. Now she is no longer lagging behind me. This thing is powerful enough that a person could go around town without any pedaling. She likes to get some exercise so on flat ground she hits the red button to turn off pedal assist and only uses the twist throttle when she's in a tough spot. The bike looks good. It is really a very nice bike for the friend. Now for me, when I get an electric bike, I'm twice her size and will be looking for a bigger watt motor and battery. But this one is just wonderful for my friend. I am happy with this purchase.

this, ebike adoption is useless if a large portion of the population can’t afford a $1,500+ bicycle
@@steven-vj6lc people in America will spend 30k on a car. A $1000+ ebike is very attainable.
@@steven-vj6lc the same was said for the automobile and then...
Bafang are taking on bosch.
That quadricycle is going to be amazing for food delivery. Put some studded tires on it and you're set for winter.
Vintage ebike - coolest bike ever

That Switch bike conversion kit is pushing the brake/gear levers almost vertical down. Doesn't look very ergonomic.
Favorite thing: Bafang internal 3-speed hub motor. Game changer.
7:46 calros front fork on a carlos frame ????
The Podbike Frikar is definitely the most exciting one...
That cargo truck bike was amazing
Yes it was! It's crazy how much stuff you can power with an electric bike motor.
@@Electrek I'd buy one if it was sold here in the USA
Bafang's 3 speed hub motor . Yes . if it had a coaster brake i would build the Cleanest cruiser
Why not a link to the homepage of each of the bikes you showed?

how can I get the weight in lbs on all the brands you carry 9:18
Looks like you had a good tern on those bikes! Looks good. Hope we get them here in new zealand! :)
Antilock Brakes for e-bikes, that’s my favorite thing, Micah!
Hopefully it becomes a standard piece of gear one day.
@@Electrek Yes, a fantastic safety device! I have to say that growing up riding bicycles, I always had to be careful for front tires lockups.
Good offerings the ebikes/electric world personal transportation ideas are gearing up for a fantastic future!
Honbike U4, I rode it, it was amazing especially when I going uphill the parking lot.
Great video!! thanks for bringing us the good news on that show!!

Nothing impressive for me other than ebike motors containing gears which would simplfy things greatly.
super73. oof, that is wayyy cooler than anything else on display.
Riese and muller all the way!
GREAT VIDEO, THANKS FOR THE UPDATE
How do become a beta tester for the meyers Manx 2.0?
Micah, what are the most important expos and conventions to go to for ebikes?
This and Electrify Expo?
Any ideas when you'll get your hands on the new honbike?
