You're the only one that I can watch play Baldurs Gate without making me cringe and for that I am grateful as I love the look of this game and I cannot wait to play it in January. The other night I found myself waiting for you to go live so I could jump in and watch live but ended up having to see to the baby so that wasn't possible unfortunately. A little tips for the honor mode: abuse the throw builds and Tavern Brawler feat. yes, TB got a lot of nerf/fix on patch#4 but it's still the best feat in the game. one of the most annoying in early game is keep missing. Regardless the damage, the +4 bonus (you should have 17+1 str at lv4)on attack rolls itself is vital for early game survive and damage. and it's ranged but also can do close melee (no ranged penalty, no gravity bonus tho). the one drawback is no coating poison or dipping. there's only one flinging ring and kinda easy to miss the gloves on underdark without save scum. but those items are not that big influence after patch#4 "fix". karlach can do the berserker/thief throw with the returning pike at act1. Laezel can do the EK throw with javalin and dueling with javalin (and you can get thunder javalin at act2). BTW, you gotta use the cantrip "Light". scred flame is useless, firebolt dont check dex, is a better damage contrip if you got to cast cantrip at all. Light is very useful, just cast it on yourself or your party member and you don't need a torch any more. You also get the ring to cast it at underdark.
There was only three fights that worry me in Honour mode Grym, Ansur & Raphael...Grym I have and idea on how to tackle...For the Raphael & Ansur are the ones that have my major consideration as the two drop the sword and Amour for my ideal buld
Beat Myrkul fight yesterday and been speedrunning through act III (i feel like act III expect that dragon was a breeze on my first run) and i agree the game felt a lot easier on honour then tactician just cause i somehow know what im doing now. The first run i did not even understand basic mechanics (like saving throws and stuff like that, never played d&d before) and still had no problem. The most dangerous things to me feel dialogue and Traps. Nearly died cause of my character walking over a trap, and laezael turning on me in the criche (carrying all my potions) unexpected because i hit the gith (she didnt on my last run so i thought i was save, did not know it was a check). But like the fights mostly my enemys dont even get a turn. Dont know if im happy cause of wanting the dice or sad cause expected a challenge. I will try to run a solo honour mode after for the challenge. But like there are just way to many op things in the game - and NOT using them because restricting myself feels dumb. Its an amazing game and i give it a 9/10 but for some strategic players its just way to easy.
Like for example i use a energy stacking build on my fighter where i get resistance with bond with my cleric, heavy amor for -2 all dmg, and the perk where you get -3 dmg for non magic atacks and a weapon giving me 2 energy charges (-1 dmg for every charge) per atack (fighter from lvl 5 gets 4 atacks turn 1) so you max out on 7 charges before enemys get an atack). And you DONT even lose one when getting hit. So if enemy hits me for 20 dmg / 2restistance = 10 - 12 flat dmg = deal -2 damage. And most strong enemys also do multi atacks, so its accounts every atack on its own. 20 AC also btw.
Wow, I think I'm stuck in my honour mode run 😂 Isobel died, then I went to find Oliver and followed him across the portal WITHOUT THE MOONLANTERN. I won the fight against Oliver, but my main character (Gale) and two party member died (poor Astarion and Halsin) to the shadow curse, and now are undead. Can't control them, can't resurrect them, can't kick them out of the party. Only Shadowheart was able to survive by going into the Shar shrine near Oliver fight 🥲 Does anyone has any idea how to cure the undead shadow curse? I'm afraid of going back with Shadowheart and dying to my own party 😂 I was thinking Remove Curse, but it's too scary to go back. Edit 1: oh, I realized that I cannot rest either, man. I think respecting works like a full rest. My main PC has all the scrolls and stuff 🥲 Edit 2: I just managed to recue my main PC. Bringing him down to 0 HP, waiting for him to fail death saving throws, and when he was dead, resurrect him before the shadow curse raise him again as undead. For now, I'm down to a two-man party until I find a Moonlantern. Gotta love honour mode.

@notresheR try doing as many easy fights as you can to get to higher levels. I waited til level 4 for the owl bear and destroyed both of them. Also yeah Monks are insane. I respecced karlach to a open hand monk and she's beating up everything.
Honour mode was the only time I failed saving Isobel.... i have always wondered how people could fail that fight... then there was I
It is largely RNG since she can get 1 shot if she fails a save.
Lol according to some people the overall fight has been nerfed to make it easier to save her now.
Me too lol I had to block off all of the doors when I got back to the fight
Tip to save her, block the doors of her bedroom with boxes, then she wont be overrun as easily

Just made it to act 3, Monk Durge I've saved everyone so far worried about Raphael but I'm sure I'll beat him.
I died at Myrkl my first run and then proceeded to die at Asur
do I need to min/max to play honor mode, or can I play whatever four classes I want and be okay if I take my time?
If you take your time you can make it work with any party comp I'm sure of it

Dang even watching in 2K is notably sharper, this game might benefit a ton from resolution.
Im on my 5th run, never made it past act 1, died on owlbear, died on gith on the bridge etc
You got this! Learn from those mistakes. Consider doing some different party compositions

Why are you still hanging on to items for companions you don’t have with you?
