1. Find a beat to match your original thought. 2. Keep a library of notes for the emotions you're feeling 3. Authenticity over audience. This involves: considering the listener when you're brand new, put in enough hours of work to write a 100 bars rap on the spot, and once you reach mastery do it just for you. 4. Once you're done (with a song) you're done. (Leonardo da Vinci quote: no 'great' work of art is ever finished, only abandoned)
Bro sing about me, dying of thirst is my favorite song from him because of the different perspectives and story’s he told on it also the punchlines+flow/cadence made it easily one of my faves from him if not favorite
FEAR is so raw about what it's like growing up in an insecure environment. When your parents are your first bullies, it really shrouds your worldview and makes it difficult to grow into a healthy adult. "you gon' fear me if you don't fear no one else"
I do the the same thing as Kendrick tbh .... It naturally occurs tho... I just take notes cz like Eminem I'm overloaded with lyrics and ideas to the point where I gotta write down the idea.... if I don't write it down at that specific time I might/may forget it while new ideas/lyrics/flows just keep flowing my brain like ... I'm just in the of perfecting my craft ...cz when I pop out peeps Gon know my name 👀.... I said that ..YES
@@whatrunsdeep1310 I'm about to start a vlog on becoming a rapper. Never rapped, but I love hip hop. I want to learn and I think making a video series of myself doing so might help.
Best advice you can get on this, use other artist as an outline or guide then come up with your own for the sake of originality (we already have too many Migos flowers in the game) so that you develop your own style and song writing process instead of sounding like the artist you studying or like everybody else .
Notes are important. Sometimes i write a rap and don't record it. Or write a few lines and not record those same lyrics can be used for freestyles or even other songs.
I’ve mastered writing bars I could go all day as long as I want str8 🔥 just bought a lap top and studio package to record… tho my boy who raps and is really good but not doing anything with it says I can’t learn how to ride the beat by spitting my lyrics on the beat the way I feel or want to spit it and record it over and over again until I get the hang of Riding the beat is that true?
Thanks a lot for the video. Could you make Russian subtitles for many viewers like me? It would really help us to understand the meaning of the video more deeply
I have done this, when I get high and inspired, I am on the street so I have to write it on my phone notes so I get to gether informatión and start to put it together
The most authentic Kendrick song hmm.. even tho it has the most radio friendly stuff on it I think the Kendrick on DAMN. is the realest Kendrick, he sound like he drinkin 40s lol. I'll say FEEL "feel like the whole world want me to pray for em but who the fuck prayin for me?"
All the songs if I’m correct. he said he’s dosen't have a favorite but probably he said that for marketing so the Audience won’t have to worry about one song Because then he’s limiting himself
Hi, I write the verse first and then search the type of beat I think would be good for the verse... What is your opinion on this? One thing that I do similar to KDot is every now and then I get a bar in my head and I write some either using it as first brick or putting it in the center and building around it.

I fucks with the video, I just feel as if the story overall keeps skewing off topic.

Thank you for that quote at the end, really needed that
well done!
@@ominousrush5040no but for real. Chills through my whole body, everything clicked.
Imagine having Kendrick as your poetry Teacher.
Damn!! That'd be awesome!!! Learning from the 'effing' goatest
Imagine Navy Blue being your poetry teacher.
😂😂
I can imagine that.
That would be great!!!
Count me out. That’s my favourite song from Kendrick. There is so much emotion behind that song, I cried first time I heard it.
I'd say "Sing about me/Dying of thirst" You can feel the emotion of the beat and his words
Hands down favorite Kendrick song.
Yesss
especially abt him talking about him never fading away and then lowering the volume of his voice.
The jazz type beat also goes so well with the style the lyrics were written in and the pace, rhythm, melody. Everything’s perfect abt that song
"u" is easily the most emotionally authentic song there is
I think that might actually be true
Mother I Sober is up there too.
Bro sing about me, dying of thirst is my favorite song from him because of the different perspectives and story’s he told on it also the punchlines+flow/cadence made it easily one of my faves from him if not favorite

kendrick Lamars track untitled 5 definitely hits all these points
Ever since I started writing in my phone I have kept many many of thoughts and turned them into songs later. Definitely helps
Okay definitely one of the most authentic kendrick songs has to Alright
The structure of that song is very refreshing and unique
And King Kunta🔥💯
m.a.a.d. city without question is authentic 👌🏾 💯
Kendrick's song "u" is one of my favorite songs due to his venerability
u is such a good track, might be my favorite.
Such a good video. Loved the da Vinci quote. Watching this just makes me even more excited for the new Kendrick album I can’t wait for it 🤞🏽
🙏🏽🙏🏽
To this day my favorite song from K Dot is Swimming Pools I was having issues with alcoholism at the time which is why it hit home
Wouldn't believe but i made some sick bars when i was sleepy early morning and then as soon as i woke up, i forgot'em all
Ain’t know you been giving game for 10 years almost.. you should have a million subscribers… keep grinding 👍🏽

The Legend‼️‼️‼️
Spitting facts🙏🏿
I love these steps, amazing. many thanks and God bless.
I enjoyed watching that whole interview. A lot insights into Kendrick’s process. How Rubin picked his brain was legendary too
The most Creative song i've heared of Kendrick is
"Untitled unmastered-track 8"❤It's Good and has taste of G-Funk to it...Kendrick Lamar is The King 🤴

Where should I listen to beats? Just listening to different songs or is there some kind of sound library that Kendrick browses through?

You have to have the drive , the power
