I transferred to Tampa from Hawaii in 2016. Lived in Seminole Heights. Lasted just over two years until 2018. I'm a lifelong renter, never owned a home, so looking at the fine print outside the "no state income tax" is important. Since there's no rent control in Tampa, my rent in Seminole Hts was raised three times before I moved out. My income never changed in that period so I saw the writing on the walls. The property manager explained the rent hikes to the re-evaluation of the apartment building. I did watch my neighborhood gentrify within the first year. The toll roads were a bit ridiculous and something I was not used to in California or Hawaii. These are regressive taxes that hurt the working class more than high wage earners. Also, I got lucky picking Seminole Heights. If you're moving there, see if your place is in a flood zone. When the hurricane came up the gulf and hit Tampa, the trees on my block lost branches, but no flooding. South Tampa floods with a light rain. But then .. Florida IS sinking.
S.Tampa ; below Kennedy blvd. and above Gandy blvd. that's the safest, least congested, centrally located area, close to everything, beautiful etc..ur welcome
Never heard it pronounced pine-ellis county until this video. I lived in Westchase for a few years awhile back and have always heard pronounced "pin-nellis". I'm pretty sure pin-nellis rolls off the tongue better
There are many cool things to do in the Tampa area. The only downside is those things are far from each other. So you don't get any one area that has everything. Also I've lived in all three counties. Pasco is very depressed and can be a very difficult place if you're looking to build a bright future. Tampa is best if you like urban. The job market in Tampa is confusing. The reports always brag about high-paying jobs growing, but then average pay in the area isn't really going up much. There are jobs, but they might pay less than expected. In what industry would you be looking for a job?

Is there a lot of bullying in Florida? I had some friends who moved down there and they said they dealt with some hateful bullying.
