You're not just upcycling these beautiful pieces of yesteryear and helping the environment in the process, you're also showing others how BEAUTIFUL and STURDY and well put together they are so they they can learn to appreciate and even take interest in doing the same. Makes me more and more excited to see the final product. Won't even be able to tell it was ever recently curated. Will look like it was always like that. Love the thematic lights that will go all throughout the house and love those doors and LOVE the antique screen door. So inspiring all these treasures of the past. Too bad the basement brick has to be coveted over...but it kind of needs to be done and at least it's the basement. The sculpting Jim's done with the bonding agent/type s mortar on the column/beam, I think will make it look really nice either way.
Cardboard is a useful tool, soo many applications, especially during old house restorations. Jim is becoming my Basement Guru! Air quality in Wisconsin has been extremely unhealthy, too. Great editing as always. 🥰
Had to laugh as my husband claims I hoard cardboard (you never know when it will come in handy). Enjoyed seeing all the amazing things you have curated to put into the grand lady, how wonderful it will be to watch them installed.
You have so many nice antique light fittings and pieces lined up there, I am really enjoying watching your progress and can’t wait to see how it all evolves!
Grand Lady is getting so close to getting her clothes back on after being naked for so long. She's getting a nice collection of very pretty and fancy jewellery.
You just made me shoot soda out of my nose I laughed so hard! She HAS been naked. Hahahahha. I think she will love being adorned with all the fancy jewelry too. Amazing comment Lea. Thanks for that!
@@TheGrandLady making you shoot soda out of your nose from laughing so hard was totally worth it and I wish I could have scene it. That was the best reaction to a comment. Ever. Love it. You gave me a good laugh too 😂 😂 😂
I've been in my current house for 10 years and intend to stay another 10 years, but I still have my moving boxes which I used for the last last 8 moves, even international. It's just handy to have them.
Maybe we both have wanderer DNA. Or... when I was a kid you had to find cardboard boxes in the back of grocery stores. IT seems cardboard is everywhere now but I still feel stressed about finding boxes when it's moving time! 8 moves.. that's a lot.
It's One of the subcategories of Victorian Houses. We actually have a further subtype of being a Free Classic Style, Queen Anne, Victorian House. This is a good website to learn a little bit about styles of Victorian architecture. yourhistorichouse.com/2020/09/22/free-classic-queen-anne-2/
So glad you are once again enjoying your 'grand lady' after a long winter! Just don't work toooooo hard....be kind to yourselves.
Thank you, we will.

I do love a cardboard stash! Don't worry, I kept a good amount. 😄 Take good care of your lungs with that poor air quality.

You’ve found some beautiful things for the house. As somebody else said they’ll look like they’ve always been there!
I sure hope so, that's what I'm trying to achieve! You all will have to let me know what you think when they are in!
Get yourself a set of those drill scrub brushes. They work great and do the work for you !
Oh that sounds like a great idea!
Same sink as my grand mother, so nice ❤
Great video Lindsay! I learn a lot from Jim 😊
Awesome! Thank you!
Lindsay most of the do it yourself fixes for your sink will longterm not work, pass the job over and enjoy your lovely sink,.😄
Yeah, I agree. I think we may do a hybrid approach. More to learn.

Having had re-enammeling done twice, I'd have the professional do it!
Thank you for the advice! I'm definitely seeing the benefits of a good job done well by a skilled person.
What is Queen Anne Victorian? I have never heard of that.

Love the fireplace surround. Can't wait to see everything in place. I think a lime wash would be best for the basement. Love you guys. CRACK ON!!!
