Man, i had gone down this rabbit hole of misinterpreting the no self teachings to the point where everything feels pointless and i feel like i dont exist. I just recently had the realization that i MUST have misinterpreted the no self teachings. It doesn't feel right! this misery isn't truth. thanks for your video it really felt like it confirmed that for me.

The first 5 years I was traveling star nebulas in meditations, having blissful and incredible experiences, the last 5 have been full of pointlessness, futility, nihilism and just wanting to get off the train.
No bliss, no joy, no real happiness to speak of whatsoever.
It’s been so full of confusion, contempt, fear and rage at times.
      Let me off this ride.
But then catholic school from childhood whispers “don’t be so excited to get out because you’re going to hell to be tortured eternally by devils and demons.”
Plus all the guilt, shame and fear associated with even being born and then also absolutely everything I say, do or think. It’s all earning me a deeper place in the basement of hell. Even the live and kindness that is expressed through me isn’t good enough and it’s judged and condemned too.
F’n mental and emotional child abuse what they did to us kids.
All part of the dream I guess. Wars, torture, violence, Epstein islands, pedophile politicians, rapists, serial killers, that’s all “me” too?
      Uhhh., Ok.
I’d rather not. Existence is god?
Well, god is insane imo. I’m sure even saying that gets me another lifetime in hell because god is love.
Idk. I’m grateful to hear and see all the awakened people everywhere but I don’t get it.
      Must be nice. 😂

All of these "ANDS" are the false mortal images of the Ignorance of the Truth of Your Immortal Being. The Greatest Insult to the Infinite, Omnipresent Spirit of God is entertaining the temptation to believe there is any appearance of mortality where Only the Immortal Spirit of God is....
God is the Only Life, and the belief there can be God and any mortal appearance is the belief of the Mind of the Anti-Christ....
Those who dwell in the mind of the Anti-Christ will appear to suffer from it in the form of physical attacks, mental attacks, lack, illness, cancer, trauma, accidents, war, imprisonment, pain, war, anger, birth, death, and all false appearances of mortal iniquities separate and apart from God...
The RESURRECTION takes place when one drops the Belief and Receptivity to the False Appearances of the World Mind of Mortality(birth-decay-death) through the Acceptance and Realization of the Immortal Spirit of God being the only Infinite, Perfect, Omnipresent Being, thereby knowing ones true self to be the Infinite, Perfect, Omnipresent Spirit of God....
In proportion to our abandonment of God are we taken care of by God.
Therefore, we must surrender to the Will of God if we truly Desire to the Movements of God within, as God conducts his Will in ways that oppose human will and understanding. We must Remove the False Mortal Image of a mortal ME separate and apart from God....
The Christ is ALWAYS ALIVE IN US, but we must be Alive to the Christ....

God asks one thing of us:
Crucify the Belief in a mortal Me Separate and Apart from the Immortal, Omnipresent Spirit of God, as there is no more Glorious a Demonstration than the Transformation from mortal sense to Spiritual Immortality....
The massive wall we have built shielding us from our truth lies in intellectual concepts known as the Graven Images of Mortality experienced through the senses(including all religious beliefs). What is of God Consciousness is Infinite, and what is not of God is an Appearance of a False Image where Only God is....
Heaven is where you are and the only place that you can ever be, yet Hell is the place that you insist on experiencing by entertaining a mortal life separate and apart from God....
We cannot glorify the Father, and glorify the flesh, or the sense of a personal Me separate and apart from God(including the flesh of jesus). Our Consciousness can not be divided in this. Either God(immortality) is or God isn't the Only Life....
It is theological and scientific beliefs that hold us in bondage, and only SPIRITUAL TRUTH can set us free....
We Must OVERCOME the Belief that we are not Immortal, Divine Being.....
To him that Overcometh the temptation of the belief in a mortal existence separate and apart from God will I give to eat of the Tree of ETERNAL LIFE....
Turn ye from the false images of the mortal world of man with breath in his nostrils, and Dwell in the Secret Place of the Most High:

No-self” refers to the realization that the individual ego or personal identity is an illusion-a mental construct without inherent reality. It’s about seeing through the false sense of separateness.
Nihilism, on the other hand, is the belief that life has no intrinsic meaning, purpose, or value. It’s a conceptual stance that often leads to a sense of emptiness or despair.
Self-realization is the direct, experiential recognition of the true nature of being. It’s the understanding that what we truly are transcends the ego and mental constructs, revealing a deeper, self-evident reality that is beyond all concepts, including both “self” and “no-self.

YES! Hopefully this gets heard. Existence is obvious here, what this awareness/consciousness truly is can be experienced but not defined.
A red flag experienced here is when a non dual speaker starts their video saying "This can't be spoken of..." and then proceeds to speak about it.
Your inclusion and explanation of the person(ality) is so refreshing.
Even having seen through the illusion of an individual I, there continues to be an ongoing existence of having had a childhood, being a mother and now grandmother with specific desires and aversions. What continues to arise here is that this process of being born as a dependent infant and going through personal and human development happens for reasons we cannot and will not know. If this process had no purpose as part of life it wouldn't exist.
It seems we get tripped up or hung up on our minds belief we need to know so we can feel in control.
Trust in the free fall into the oneness of consciousness and the exquisite beingness we are.
Thanks Joe for having taken the time (illusionary or not) to steep and mature into non dual experience and recognition prior to speaking and pointing about this.

The dark night of the soul is a real thing. All the time we cling to an identity we are cut off from the splendor of the absolute. But letting go of that identity can be an extremely painful process, and one doesn't get the absolute without letting go completely. It is an experience of loss, of death, and although the pain actually comes from fearfully clinging on most of us are not going to welcome such a loss easily.

    • @joebestbliss
      @joebestbliss  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

Firstly only Brahman is real. Secondly, letting go implies two. Where as an identity subsumed as the absolute confirms the already accomplished unity. This distinction is the entire point of this video. If what you are experiencing breaks the law of oneness, it must be a play in duality and thus is not a true awakening. A dark night of the soul is the same as any other emotion and is caused by object/subject duality. Except with this emotion we label it spiritual. Awakening is more like relaxing ever more deeply in a hot tub of pure consciousness.

    • @opinion3742
      @opinion3742 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@joebestbliss Yea, I understand what non-duality means. Unfortunately as a subject it becomes just a game of words. True awakening? Who is awakening? The already eternal truth that is always already awake? The realization you are talking about requires you, the separate self, to realize you are just an expression of the infinite, the absolute, pure being etc etc. It is an experience the separated self has of its relation to the eternal ground of everything, the ocean as you put it, an understanding, deeply felt maybe, but personal. And that self suffers, fears, doubts, is confused, longs for completeness, security, certainty. Is it not true that it is only when the self finally disappears into oneness that suffering actually ends because it is only then that it is seen that separation is only an illusion?

    • @joebestbliss
      @joebestbliss  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@opinion3742 True, awakening transcends the concept of a self realizing or awakening to anything. It’s not the self recognizing its connection to the absolute; rather, it’s the dissolution of the very idea of separation. The suffering, fear, and doubt are indeed products of this illusory separation. When the self is seen through, what remains is the natural state, which is always whole, complete, and free from dualistic notions of separation and suffering. In this light, the dark night is just the mind clinging to the remnants of an identity that never truly existed. Once that illusion is dissolved, what is left is the undisturbed awareness that is ever-present, beyond concepts of gain or loss.
However, we can discuss this philosophically indefinitely. Instead, what is in the way of you experiencing peace? Whatever it is, allow it to be. It's a very simple and profound practice. Best of luck.

There is a conflict between Hinduism and Buddhism on this very topic. In a true satori experience, you experience the "all" as a non-being, non-dual awareness, but no locus, no "I." When you withdraw into a "normal" state, you recreate the ego, the "I," which you must do to keep the body alive and attend to life on the material plane. I believe people who are trying to grasp this concept through the mind rather than the experience are the ones who fall prey to the misunderstanding you're talking about. Like those who say "we're all one" who have grasped this intellectually, but not through experience. Thank you for your video.

I would say the contrast produced by experiencing the false idea of oneself being seen in its falseness creates the kind of corrective sense of a non-existent "I" not existing. The point of view taken that mistakenly spoke as the "I" now says "Oh shit I don't actually exist" as the activity of mis-identification cuts off.
It's like getting out of an ice bath into a snow storm and saying "ahh it's quite warm now". Memory fueled CONTRAST!
It kind of shows that there isn't necessarily such thing as warm or cold, just temperature defined by a position taken and what direction it's going on the spectrum. Memory takes the spotlight of data and produces categories of temporary reference points.

Just discovered you. I love your message so far. There really are few teachers with enough emphasis on awareness of deep trauma and other spiritual traps on this path. There is a certain flexibility of mind and radical self honesty and self compassion needed to really move through it all. Some teachers are more or less irresponsible, but in the end the responsibility to wake up thoroughly lies in our own hands. The idea of liberation is the ultimate bond. I still recommend some occasional "head-popping" videos IF one is ready to also go into the fear and drop it all. In a way, this all happens anyways here, it seems. Perhaps a good teacher is akin to a very effective laxative. Must keep things moving, yet we must also "fall for" some spiritual traps, as we become new, expanded perspectives and increasingly shed the skin of identification. 🎉🎉🎉

    • @joebestbliss
      @joebestbliss  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Thank you for your thoughtful question. In the perspective of non-duality, consciousness and the ego are inseparable yet not two separate entities. The ego is the sense of "I" that arises within consciousness due to our experience of being, but it doesn't have an independent existence of its own. Only consciousness-or perhaps more accurately, awareness-is ultimately real.
Imagine a movie screen: the screen represents awareness, and the characters projected onto it symbolize the ego. While the characters seem separate and distinct, they are merely expressions on the screen and cannot exist without it. In this way, the ego and consciousness are one and the same-the screen.
When we engage in conscious thinking, we are operating within both the realm of consciousness and the ego. However, suffering occurs when we perceive the ego as a separate entity and identify solely with it. By recognizing that the ego is just a manifestation within the broader field of awareness, we can transcend this illusion of separateness and understand our true nature. ♥️

Joe, thank you for this video.
Could you maybe address something I rarely see being addressed clearly. There is this idea that there is only this pure awareness if we strip away any form of subjective experience. However, I cannot confirm this, I can only seem to infer it. The issue I have is that without a reflection I cannot claim to be (or not be) because there is nothing to reflect upon in the first place, like dreamless deep sleep. This dreamless deep sleep is also not permanent, as it seems there's intervals of experience and no experience.
Even more confusing, they seem to go on simultaneously but to the witness/experiencer (which is only arising with a world) they happen in succession. Hard to explain, like "I" can somehow choose to "look away" or "fall back" into a "place" where there is no experience but an experience of a world is still happening on the surface - automatically, and with no thinking being present. Like I would recognize it and say "Ahh, that's like the deep sleep place" but be awake and aware of experiences at the same time? Am I making any sense? Haha.
Anyways, it seems just an inference to say we are this pure, unbounded, free awareness. To me it still sounds like an incredibly subtle identity that is still trying to hold on to something tangible which feels impossible. How can we safely say we are "that" if nobody and nothing is present "there"? I know I'm wrong somewhere in my understanding, just having troubles pinpointing the error.

The pure potentiality of absolute Nonbeing.
    The Godhead is absolutely Silent.
Not the Silence of sound and silence.
Rather, a Silence deeper than all silence.
    An eternal and infinite Silence.
There is absolutely no movement in the Godhead.
Not a Stillness in relation to movement; but a Stillness beyond stillness.
    An eternal and infinite Stillness.
There is no light in the Godhead.
This is not the Darkness of light and darkness.
This is a Darkness beyond all darkness.
This is an eternal and infinite Darkness.
    The Godhead is utterly Simple.
This is not the Simplicity of the simple and complex.
This is a Simplicity beyond all simplicity.
This is eternal and infinite Simplicity of absolute non-distinction.
There are absolutely no intentions in the Godhead.
Thus, there is no “Divine Will” in the Godhead.
    Nothing is willed.
    This is absolute Freedom.
A Freedom that is prior to the freedom of the will.
    An eternal and infinite Freedom.
A Freedom from intention that is the Godhead.
    The Godhead is empty.
    Empty of distinction.
    Empty of intention.
    Empty of light.
    Empty of will.
Empty of anything one could say of it at all!
The Godhead is a pure unmanifested potentiality that precedes all creation.
The Godhead is the boundless source from which all of existence emanates.
The Godhead is the source of God.

It's called liberation for a reason. Rumi wrote love poems to the absolute. The Rishis called it "Sat Chit Ananda" - the bliss of knowing oneself. If you find yourself feeling nihilistic, then some part of the teaching was missed. Often, it is a literal taking of "no self" that leads to a sense of pointlessness, which is a misunderstanding. To the un-awakened mind watching someone document their authentic self is more watchable than direct clear instruction. But watching someone document a journey is not the same as receiving precise instruction from an experienced guide. The modern era has made these teachings available to all, but it also means that anyone can share them. So many distortions are being shared with confidence. One of my teachers passed recently at the age of 78. She still insisted on only teaching the basics publically. I waited 18 years before sharing a word. I documented my path but it is all on my hard-drive! It's up to each person to decide who they wish to learn from in any field of study. The most important two questions to ask are "Is this of benefit to me in the moment I am hearing it?" This avoids promises and dark distortions and "Can I verify what is being said in my own experience?" This avoids hypnosis and brainwashing. Keep those two in mind and you will avoid and incomplete teachings you may encounter on the path. Overall, I feel it is a net positive that many people are sharing and I will do my best to offer corrections where I see them and enjoy the enthusiasm along the way.

There is a book by Suzanne Segal, Collision With The Infinite, where she shares her journey of awakening suddenly in the early 80s with no idea of what happened and her process of fear because she didn't have any idea of or access to any non dual teachings. She eventually found support and understanding but it took time.
A lot of folks have an initial awakening and begin sharing everything they are going through but haven't matured in the process. And what occurs for one won't necessarily be your experience. This is why it's helpful to follow someone who has traversed their non dual experience for a long time. Joe is obviously seasoned. Angelo Dilulo of Simply Always Awake, Pernilla and Todd at The Awakening Curriculum and Unfettered Mindfulness also have many years experience in this process.
      Blessings on your journey ❤

It also triggered me. But that was part of the unbinding. Inner children wanted to be heard, being terrified of not existing. Self honesty and trust will let you see what you need to see.
It can feel like some non-dual speakers can be radical or one-sided or irresponsible in their message. Yes, there are more wholesome and mature teachers. However, it is your own mind reacting to any message. If it is fear being triggered, you are very close to where you want to look - but do not mistake anyone else's path for your own. Do not fixate on any teaching. Your experience counts. ❤

It isn't a message to follow, it is a commentary on her process of 'this' unfolding. Your path is your path, it's not intellectual. But I can confirm that this process is not for everyone to want to face; in that, losing ego - self identifying as separate into a groundless experience that just flows CAN be scary as that old experience drops. We have been doing this for lifetimes. Many teachers both in nd and buddhism, speak to this. That's why they say the path is lonely, even to the point that the old 'me' validation that I am 'seeking/spiritual' story melts away so there is no reference point which was only 'real' in that apparent separate self.

    • @joebestbliss
      @joebestbliss  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

You exist. It’s as simple as that. Even if what you are is non locatable, you exist. If you dream tonight of your self swimming, the you swimming is in a dream, the dreamed you cannot be pointed to, only your dependently arisen parts, and they also fold, but the dreamed you enjoying a swim still exists. It just does not exist as what it appears to be, this is the point. Your existence is at the barest sense the dynamic energy of pure consciousnesses, inseparable from it. Not-two. All non-self doctoring are tools to dissolve the formidable hold on self, but all tools, ideas and concepts are discarded along with any extremes. What remains is your true nature and it is that what exists all along. Now look at your had, that is your true nature, so is the floor, the sounds and sights. So none of that exists as anything named, it all exists as the absolute only. In this way if you deny the existence of any one appearance, you deny the existence of absolute, and the cycle of suffering is ignited once more. Thank you for commenting.

@bridietulloch1520 It's a fun topic that Joe has shared, I'm surprised some can think they don't exist because that's kinda the only truth you are sure of in this world, that you are conscious awareness. But at the same time there is no self that exists in a non dual, deterministic universe.
