- In this video I decide to take a stab at weathering a Rapido B36-7 to closer match the prototype as it was in the 90s. This will make it a more accurate representation of when the unit would have been found running with my Wisconsin Central units. Bonus find was seeing a sister of my unit running with a Wisconsin Central unit on a picture I found in RRPictureArchives! So there is a real life counter part for everything!
Thanks for watching as always!
Howdy bud! Hope all is well. Hope to hear from you soon. 👍
This turned out great! Those pencils look a lot like eyeliner. That’s what I use 🤣
I made a video about it
Glad to see that you are back to making videos. Great content.
Hey, thanks! Appreciate the comment!
The Krylon can dry with a white, sort of frosty look sometimes. I was told it is very important to only use the can a few times as the heavier chemicals can pool at the bottom of the can. Someone told me shaking the can everyday can help alleviate this, but who has time for that? I have gone back to Testors Dullcote, either the aerosol or airbrush version is fine.
I think I can attest to that as well. I just did a handful of locomotives recently using the same techniques I showed here and when I sprayed them with the Krylon I felt like it did mist it white when it dried. It's not horrible, but at the same time, the white over the dirty weathering doesn't look right either. On the next batch I have some Vallejo clear matte varnish I'm going to try instead. Thanks for the tip on this for myself and others.
Good to see you back, great layout!
