I got 2 from Lombard and noticed the same parts. I didn't know where they came from so your video helped with that. I also have a missing sun shade on one of mine so hopefully rapido will get me a new one sent out
I received two of these in the mail a couple of days ago. Four out of the eight bottom steps as well as one of the sunshades had fallen off. Fortunately, it wasn't too difficult to put back together. Other than that, they look, sound, and run perfectly. Thanks for the review.
The step in the side of the hood is a signature spotting feature common to all GE DASH7 locomotives, vs, the earlier Universal series (U25/28/30/33/36) from GE.
Very nice! I got a BN one on pre order, which won't arrive until January due to the models having the incorrect shade of green (as reported by Rapido). So this has me really excited, happy holidays!
@ShawnsTrains265 yeah, saw their post on Facebook the other day. They just recieved the first color corrected samples, and it looks like things are good to go, very excited!
They are very, very nice and would be that much better with see-thru screens on the back-side radiator part. They look to have covered most everything except that. That's one rare thing on U-Boat models that are over looked. Only see it on brass, mostly. Rivarossi did see-thru's on thier U28C's run. Might be a few more, but rare. That detail adds a lot to U-Boats. Hey,...the dashboard lights are cool..!
I totally agree, been saying this since their B36-7's came out 5 years ago. To their credit though it was nice that they added "mo power" to the DCC board and dropped the cell phone speaker.
@@ShawnsTrains265 It's wrong. I went through all of the Santa Fe U33C/U36C and then C30-7 - they all had the antiglare. I'm going to try and correct this with Microscale 87-440 decal.

Im sure they will be happy to!
My conductor side sunshade was loose in the box.
@ShawnsTrains265 still haven't gotten a response from Rapido. It seems their customer service is terrible and it's not just me saying it
@@Denniss7420I'll have to check mine again but I went through it pretty good
@jasonjanise I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure they're busy with the holidays and I hope it gets sorted out soon.

Beautiful locomotive! Love the beacon!
The beacon is a striking feature!

No wonder i haven't seen them yet! That gives me time to save up for one! I'm glad Rapido caught it!

@randallellison6421 thanks for the update! I can't wait to see them!
Yeah me too. I wanted a BN one to run with Scale Trains SD40-2 AB set
@jcure i hopenthey rerun the b units. I missed out. I picked up a pair of BN tunnel motors that athearn did, and I want the Uboat and b unit for them.
A-ha, Mr. T, and the sweet beacon. What more could you ask for?!😊
I have eight and love them
What railroads do you have?

Did the model come with the optional plated windows covers in the box?
Mine for UP did they are actually replacement side windows and you have to Disassemble the model yo install.
Yes, for those modeling the late 80s, these Santa Fe C30-7s from Rapido come with painted window inserts to replace the ones already on the cab
Yes they do!
🗣️TAKE ON ME
Along with the lack of the anti-glare panel on the hood the side steps should be painted yellow.
Side steps were blue on the "as delivered" models that this model represents. Pictures are hard to find, but pinterest has a few.
@@Denniss7420 i will ck that out. Thank you.
Too bad about the anti glare panel on the nosetop (it's supposed to be blue). They got it right on the B36-7 so what gives on this model?
We're they on the early version vs late? I guess I'm not sure. Something worth researching!
its definatly wrong, i quickly found a picture of this very unit with the blue anti glare
@24zer0nd is there a date with the photo?

Is it pretty loud? I know the camera helps but does it sound like to the ear?
I think it has good volume, but i don't like them cranked up either. If you like loud sound systems, this would be at the low end of that spectrum.
A typical Rapido situation, open box get broken parts.🙄
I've had a Scaletrains step come off in shipping, too! Easy fix though.
This is all of them. Athearn Genesis, Scaletrains, Fox Valley, Rapido.......you want hyper detail - something is going to come unglued.
More parts, more problems. I picked this up for $225 so I'm not complaining!
