When I started my business I made a promise to myself that I would not go into debt. I went and bought a cheap trailer from a guy for $600. My truck was a 1996 ford f150 that was paid for. I started doing work for friends and family then word of mouth got out and I started getting more work. I was working at night at a warehouse while trying to build a business during the day. Sleep was never in the cards. I slowly saved up my money and purchased a used bobcat that needed a little work. I spent my whole winter getting that thing running. I sold my trailer and purchased an equipment trailer that had no deck or title paid $1200 for it. I added a deck and started some grading jobs. In 6 months I was able to save up to purchase an old truck with a dump bed. That thing was indestructible I loaded that sucker down many times with rock and it never failed. That old truck sits in the woods now behind my house in retirement. I slowly worked myself up to a new truck, trailer, and equipment but it took time. I see today people want to go all in and have the best of the best. Or just new because they don’t want to break down. With a business you start with what you can afford and if you can expand great if you can’t then work up to it. Owing the bank keeps you stressed and awake at night. For me when work was slow I wasn’t hurting because I owed nobody. That time gave me the opportunity to spend time with my family and work on my equipment. Moral of the story is don’t get in a bind you can do this without new stuff and make just as much money.
I respect the way you did it brother. You definitely have great hustle in you 💪🫡
Nice story. Blessings
Not gonna lie man, I would be a wreck with all the different debts you have right now. I’m currently making things work with some utility trailers I built up and a truck that’s paid for. I know you didn’t ask for advice, but as a fellow business owner I hate to see you stressed like this. If I was you, I would sell some of my trailers maybe. Definitely I would sell the truck because that 1k a month is insane. You could get something nice with a good diesel bulletproof engine for 20-30k if you got something on marketplace. I would use that money you got from selling those things to buy your miniskid outright and your stump grinder and own it. Other stuff you could just rent when you need it. I just feel like I would be suffocating with all of those different payments. God bless brother!
Hey man! I truly appreciate you writing this paragraph 😂💪
I started my business with no debt and had no debt for over a year. The debt is a recent thing. I'm not a fan of it, but I saw a market for these services and took a big risk going all in. I hope it works out, but only time will tell 🤷♂️...I'm just trying to make enough to cover my family's needs
@@JackofHaulTrades Amen brother! I’m in the same situation needed to take care of my family. Praying God gives you lots of business!
@boldfaithproductions Praying for you too man! Let's keep pushing 💪😎
You need to partner up part-time with some landscapers to fill in the holes in your schedule. No more purchases on credit. Your income is not stable enough for credit purchases. I hate to tell you kids are really expensive- didn’t you say you have one on the way?
Hang in there man, but put every extra dollar into paying down your most high interest debt.
@gordonfrigaard6521 Yessir, I do have a boy on the way! My credit card debt is still 0% APR and I'm on track to pay it off by the time the interest kicks in. I'm hustling as hard as I can to pay the debt down 🙏🫡
1 soul in different bodies act like your the customer renting from yourself and watch them come to you…rather wait for you to come to you.. small life hack
I'm not sure I understood that sir, can you explain it more simply?
Hey brother I appreciate the truth keep grinding 💪
Hey man! I appreciate your support big time 🫡💪
The trick is avoiding debt at all costs. The new truck was a poor decision frankly, the skid steer you'd be better buying used and getting it half price etc etc. I got a Kubota mini ex for 15k, paid off in 2 jobs, Chinese skid steer for 4 grand paid off almost instantly on one job, truck for 25k, dump trailer for 6k flat bed trailer 3.5k. I keep an eye on sales for stuff and basically only buy equipment specific to the jobs I'm doing. That's just me lol. Gotta save money where you can!
Yessir if you have the cash buying used will save you alot of money!! Good job sir 👍👍
Bro don't get discouraged man... your are building assets man they are worth money so you might not have a bunch of cash in the bank right now but look at it this way your getting appreciation on your home and your equipment still have a liquid value. Your equipment wont be worth what you paid for it new but your making cash flow on it right now and once it time to sell and upgrade you'll still be able to cash out on it. keep grinding man you will be successful!
I appreciate the encouraging words brother! 🫡💪
@@JackofHaulTrades no problem man
One idea for side hustle. Get yourself a tow dolly for pulling cars and if you know anyone that needs to have a vehicle towed that would be a good side hustle.
I appreciate the feedback sir! I have a car hauler, but I typically just use it for scraping cars. I just don't come across them very often unfortunately
You're going to do great Andre. Just keep pushing forward. Once you get all that equipment paid off, you'll be golden. Work has been slow up here for me too. Had a few cancellations and only 1 job since last Thursday, but I don't work weekends, and it rained all last week, so 🤷♂ I think part of it is the economy. I've had a lot of calls, but lost out every job to people wanting stuff done next to nothing. I am not that guy, so I refused. Learning to say no to those jobs. I have better use for my time. Where in GA are you?
I'm in Barrow County. It be like that sometimes, but there isn't much we can do. Keep pushing brother you will succeed! I see your hustle 💪🫡
@JackofHaulTrades Ah, opposite side of the way I travel when I go to FL. Thanks. Just got a few jobs for this week, one bug one and a quote for a cleanout next week. That is how it goes, up and down. Which stump grinder do you have by the way?
@krakenjunkremoval I have the Baretto 30sg look at my first few videos. I made a video when I was buying it!
@JackofHaulTrades Thanks, will do. I was just looking at that one.
@krakenjunkremoval it's a pretty good machine for the money ...at least I think so
Great video!! Keep hustling bro !!
Thanks big boss! I appreciate your support 🫡💪
2 days, 2 machines, 1 truck, 1 trailer, fuel, insurance, two loads to the dump, and at least 16 work hours (not including commute or prep) -- Gotta get those prices up buddy -- You are losing money.
I applaud your hard work, and mad props to you working that grind.... but if you don't raise rates, you'll be bankrupt.
Also -- I think I saw you going down the road the other day... 👍
I appreciate the feedback boss! What area are you located in?
@@JackofHaulTrades I am in Covington, Ga., and work all over the Metro Atl.
@ASGDirtworx about an hour from me. I'll see you around brother 🫡
Hey Andre, enjoy watching your videos and watching you grow in your business and leading your family! My wife and I did almost $9K part time last month. I'm only sharing that to let you know that you WILL be making $1K a day - you're in the thick of things and sometimes it's hard to see beyond the week, but I'm praying for and cheering for your success.
That's awesome man!!!! I'm proud of yall. Keep killing it! 💪
Yes 1k a day is very possible, and I've made that amount many times it's just very hard to find that much work daily 😂... but it is possible for some :) I appreciate the support brother 🫡
Too much debt is a stress. I'm praying for you and your family. Keep grinding and stay safe.
I appreciate the prayers and the support man! I'm blessed to have you as a subscriber 🫡❤️
Keep grinding bro, you will get business. You’re an inspiration to many
I appreciate the support man! I need more subscribers like you 🫡💪
You are definitely doing great for being new, I started my lawn maintenance & landscaping business when I was 24 now I’m 32 and it took me like 4 years to paid debts and start seeing profits.
Thank you for sharing boss man! I appreciate the encouraging words! 🫡💪
You should put some plywood donw where your mini will be driven ng over , you kind of tore up the grass alokng the fence , but hey just some advice for the next one.
Thanks for the comment. I do use it when it's needed. These people didn't care for it 🤷♂️ But all the grass grows right back. It's not really damaged it just looks like for a little
@@JackofHaulTrades for sure it's best when the customers understand what it takes to get the job done , I wish you the best of luck brother Ive recently went full force into running my own weed abatement and outdoor service. I wish you nothing but the best of luck in your business and just in your life period !!
@peterduran5597 thanks man I appreciate the support big time. I wish you the same! I hope you kill it out there! 💪❤️
Have you looked into Medicaid for insurance? It’s for families that don’t have access to employer insurance. Not sure of the income requirement though?
Yeah the problem with them is that they don't care what your profit is... they care what your revenue is, which is very dumb in my opinion. So we unfortunately don't qualify 🤷♂️
Get a health insurance agent in your state and quote “medically underwritten” health insurance plans
Meaning, they screen your health prior to offering you a quote
If you and your family are healthy and have no history, should be no problem
@@--92 I appreciate your comment boss
Even iff you know people you have to manny people doing the same business I like to start one in Flo in my area are to manny yunk Remuval
I'm pretty sure most areas are flooded right now... I know mine is, but we just gotta keep pushing and outwork the competition 💪
If your chain on the chainsaw keeps popping off a lot and is tight: check the bar if the slit is full of gunk and go with a small screw driver through it until it's clean again
The bar seemed pretty clean, but my bar is a little bent. If it continues to pop off often, I'll have to replace it but I'll get a smaller bar next time 28in seems a bit too big for a 391
Do you for sure need the stump grinder? Couldn’t you just outsource that to a friend pass up on that income but not have the stress of $2,000 a month. We do junk removal and are now a licensed tree service and there’s just always more equipment to buy. We have a 23 freightliner grapple truck and when we’re ready we will get a mini skid, but I don’t want to go too crazy with equipment too quickly. Just curious your thoughts.
Great question yes and no. But I think it was worth it for me. I had about 4k in stumps at my house so I saved money doing it myself, and then that grinder has gotten me quite a bit of work honestly. We just did a tree job for $3400, and this lead came from me grinding Stumps at this house. The grinder is almost paid off! It was a big risk, but I think it was worth it.... but I don't think I would do it again 🤣
That's awesome man! What do you like more the junk removal side or tree removal? I hope business is going well for you 🙏💪
@@JackofHaulTrades seems like a great machine for the price and to be able to do a job start to finish really is handy. I almost stopped and talked to a guy I saw with a stump grinder lol I think you will get a lot of business that way. We’ve made the most money in the shortest amount of time doing tree work so I think it’s worth investing in like you’re doing. Just found your channel I’ll keep checking out the videos.
@coreyadams6253 Thanks, boss! Yeah, I've had a few 1k days just grinding Stumps :) I thought about it for like half a year before I sent it 🤣
Amazing work Andrei!! Keep at it bro!
Thanks man! I'm trying my best 💪🫡
How. About. Use. Next. Door.
I do use the next-door app, but I haven't gotten any jobs from it in a while unfortunately :/
Here's a suggestion, since your stand on skid steer isn't as strong as mini skids or bigger ones.
Think about investing into a winch. You could have one that hooks up into the back receiver of your truck. Get at least a 9k-12k winch, it'll will pull out big trees and shrubs right out the ground. Roots & all, no problem!
Just an idea, I used to do them for clients when I removed them in the past. Less stump grinding you'll have to do & chainsaw cutting!
Thanks for the tip brother, but for the stumps I was removing, a winch wouldn't do it. Trust me 😂
I have a winch on my flatbed it's nice, but I prefer using the machine to pull stuff out
What's the total cost of this full job?
I priced it for $2000 the customer paid me $2200!
great job, I remember what it looked like but learn how to add a before pic. to your video as you are showing your final walkaround, it gives a better before and after view,, keep up the good work,
Thank you for the tip sir! I appreciate it 🫡💪
It’s a tough world out there! That’s exactly the reason why I still have to work a full time job and do my side hustle job in order to survive in this world. But in my side hustle is like therapy although it may be harder at times, I find a lot of enjoyment in doing it. Btw, feel free to stop by anytime you need your chain sharpen.
Yessir it really is. The only reason I quit my full-time job is because the company I was working for was paying me crap. If your job pays you good, you should definitely keep it! You can still make great money doing it as a side hustle 💪
Advertising is the name of the game brother. I currently advertise with yelp for about $4,000 per month. What i’ve noticed is that customers aren’t looking for quality, everyone is looking for the cheapest & fastest service. I don’t offer cheap or fast but quality clients do find me mixed in with repeat and reoccurring clients. The economy is also a direct affect as well.Entrepreneurship isn’t for everyone for sure but we just gotta keep pushing and get better each day. Keep pushing you got this!!!!
Man, that's a ton of money you are spending on ads per month. I hope business continues to go well for you, my friend 🙏 thanks for watching. I appreciate the support 🫡
Great video bro! Keep up the hustle!

I feel you man there is a lot of competition im 19 starting my business getting clients is the hardest part
I started at 20 years old, but I'm 22 now. It takes years to build up a clientele, and I'm still working on building one... keep pushing brother you will succeed 💪🫡
I'm already broke and trying to start a bussiness, I guess that ones hard to beat.
Gotta start somewhere 💪
@@JackofHaulTrades I'm going to start with a truck, 4X8 trailer, basic demolition tools, outdoor tools and see where that gets me.
@mrMacGoover That's more than enough for starting! I wish you nothing but success brother 🙏
Let’s gooo homie putting in that hard work ohhh yeahhh
You know it brother! Bills don't pay themselves 😂
Dont let Dave Ramsey know about all this debt, he might have a heart attack.
O yeah! No need to make gramps angry 😂😂
@@JackofHaulTrades But this was a cool job, im trying to think how I would do it with my excavator. Do you think it would make more sense to rent a larger dumpster and have it delivered on site to cut out all the trips?
@PremiumFuelOnly an excavator would work even better for a job like this! It depends, for me it was much cheaper to use my own dumpster. Brush is cheap to dump in my area because the landfil I went to charges by the load! It was only like $40 a load
I’ve been following you now for a few months. Love your content man keep it up you do great at your job and your videos educating us viewers. There are a few other people who are TH-camrs that started from the bottom and then got BIG and forgot how to produce the Fire content like you have been creating. Don’t change up on us once you reach your 100,000 subscribers lol.
Haha I appreciate it man! I don't plan on ever changing. I've been like this forever, but I'm new to the TH-cam game. Idk if I'll ever reach 100k subs, but if I do that will be absolutely insane 😂

What do you do for medical insurance? Two words for you, "Dave Ramsey"
Haha, if I call Dave Ramsey he will rip me apart and tell me that I'm living like I'm in Congress 😂
Love to see a hard working young man
Thanks for watching boss! 🫡
Really great results👍
Thanks brother! 🫡
Look into getting a brush cutter for your machine. Saves you from alot of hand cutting on thos bigger shrubs and once its on the ground you can mow over everything. Then it will be flatter and fit more in a load
Yep, with a brush cutter you could probably make it all fit in one load or 2 max. I do have one it just didn't make sense for me to bring it out to this job since everything was so spread out
Debt isn’t horrible you pay less taxes make sure your writing off your equipment
Yessir, I'm writing everything off for as long as I can! 😂
For dumpsters get in touch with as many roofers as possible they will rent it daily
Unfortunately, most of the roofers I've met have their own dumpsters in my area. I'm not too hungry on roofers because I've heard of many horror stories. But if I find one that is willing to pay, I'd definitely be willing to work something out
Thats looks great all finished up , plus a tip sure helps 👍🇺🇸
Tips are always a blessing! Thanks for the comment boss 🫡🙏
Business your always in debt, and do you use fb advertising or kijiji or google also put sign up also.
Yessir! I advertise everywhere I can for free. I also use yard sings and that has been helping alot :)
@JackofHaulTrades have you been giving cards out to apartments buildings within 75 miles of yourself
@deion2041 I've tried a few and senior facility locations, but not much luck so far 🙃
I know one thing, with all that equipment you better be one hell of a mechanic
I am not a great mechanic, but hopefully with time I'll learn. That's a big reason why I'm buying new equipment with the warranty
Great vid my man. Been watching for a few months now from Australia. I do very similar work. But I need a mini skid for sure. You’re doing good work and you know your worth. Just keep chipping away. I have found over the years that the consistency in business like this always pays off in the long run- you will find more and more jobs that you actually want and that pay good, with greater clarity in your business in due time.
Ps- get a little top handle arborist saw. You will love it for jobs like this one. No need to be swinging a big ole logging size long bar chainsaw around. Too easy to dip the bar into a rock or the dirt.
Killing it brother.
I want that hand saw so bad, but it's like $8-900 new here. One day I will buy it! I appreciate the support brother, people like you is what keeps me wanting to make more videos! I hope you're killing it out in Australia 💪🫡
@@JackofHaulTrades true. They are pricey. The cheaper slightly less powerful top handles are just as good to use, they just have a little less spice if you cutting something thicker. Still fine for most things.

To much debt young man. You have alot irons in the fire. Once you get one business going then slide easily into the next. Your basically working to pay off bills which is normal in a sense ....but i would get the truck trailer hot n going ....pay off the trailer....then pay down on the truck....then slide into the next gig. Your bank account will let you know when its time.
With the up coming elections if the market crashes it’s over for him
