Can a mini guitar amp really sound any good!? Well, lets see what you think after watching this demo of four mini guitar amps. The amp was miced up with a MXR 440 Instrument mic. No messing with EQ during the edit, but I did add a little reverb to each amp within Logic. So, what you hear is the amp with a small amount of reverb.

This was NOT what I was expecting when I clicked on this video but I really liked the format. I was expecting a guy to talk a little about each amp and its features and then maybe a little demo. This was actually better because it focused purely on the sound. Somewhere at about 3:38 I burst out laughing at the facial expression of dude #3 (Marshall amp) - really funny. Actually I like all the reactions of all four clone dudes. Both funny and effective and an excellent guitarist - I wish I played this well. Really good playing and a really good video to compare the sound of all 4 amps. Excellent work here. Thanks a lot.

Best shootout ever! Very clever format. I liked the Marshall best, followed by the Vox and Blackstar. Tried to like the Danelectro, but it just didn’t do anything for me. Thanks.
They are all sooo different, which, I guess is a good thing, right?! My person fave is the Blackstar, as the quality of overdrive and sound is bigger than its physical size, next would be the Marshal, just purely because it raw and untamed!!

The three first ones seem like they’re more geared for rock whereas the dan sounded like it’d be better suited for jazz or blues where a fat sound is needed.
Blackstart and Vox.
At today's prices on Amazon, the Blackstar is about $75, the Danelectro is $23. Your great playing made them all sound good. Don't know how much the Vox and Marshall cost. For me being an old retired geezer on a very fixed income, I might go with the Honeytone. But, thanks for this video!!

So we’re assuming the guitar settings were the same throughout? Apples to apples?
Not that you get much tonal difference with each amp but yes all set pretty much the same.

The honeytone amps aren't what they used to be. Look for the first run with the leather strap and the dano logo on the grill.
