you guys have the dream job of every adult that was dazzled by the arcade as a child, i just wanna let you all know were jealous, keep posting videos :D
Back in the day, the local pizza parlor had a massive arcade. I remember the day they wheeled this beauty in. X-MEN were just coming on the scene and this machine blew our minds. The sound, crisp display & 6 PLAYERS?!?! I remember quite vividly waiting in line for a chance to play it. Good stuff. It pleases me to see you guys are keeping these old machines up and running. Much respect.
Oh man, that would be great for any arcade. X-Men arcade is still fun as hell. I always wanted to see the 6 player version,I usually saw the 4 player one.
There it is after all these years! My favorite cabinet! So much joy and happiness not only seeing it, but playing it as well. I remember it being loud.
I am so glad I found this video! One of my strongest arcade memories as a kid was playing this game with five friends on my brother's 10th birthday. We beat it twice in a row and then all of a sudden the screen went dead and we all just high-tailed it out of there before we got in trouble! To this day, I'd love to know if we somehow overloaded it or what.
One of my favourite games ever. I went on holiday to Florida with my folks and this was in the local arcade, love it till this day. I always choose Wolverine.
One of the local game stores has one of these. It's really a sight to behold. I never thought I'd see such a big cabinet in my lifetime. If I had the money, I'd buy it!
This arcade game X-Men was released on Japan on January 31, 1992, and on North American in March 1992. Up to 6 players can enjoy dual-screen version. The Single-screen, 4-player version due 2 months later in May of that year.
TNT I LOVE your videos. Great insight into how these things work. I grew up in the arcades of the 80's and 90's. You folks are doing gods work... I hope you prosper well!!!
I have two 6 player pcb I just recapped and repaired and I am happy that it is about to go to Boss Battle Games in Indianapolis to be put in a original cab. It was a pain using my cab and supergun for the dual display setup. I actually do repair work for Vintage Arcade out in Glendale CA I only have one Astro cab but what I have in abundance are PCB, which includes damn near every Konami side scroller of the 90's, tons of Capcom and Snk stuff aso.
I played this massive cabinet around the summer '93 and I remember when I saw it in the middle of the room I almost jawdropped. Once we were able to put together a 6 players team to kill the final boss, it was a lot of fun! (only the player 1 and player 6 position are not that comfortable because of the 90 degrees rotation) Sad to hear only a hundred are out there, if it arrived in my little italian town I assumed it was more popular. By the way the double screen was not a new thing, there were already some cabinets with double tv monitor you could sit on as a bench already around 1989-1990. I remember an impressive Final Fight on double screen with pretty loud sounds. They didn't use the mirror trick but appeared to be simply two 28 inches TVs set side by side horizontally. Thanks for showing it!
Just as an FYI Todd, people in the community at KLOV and BYOAC are working on vectoring the artwork for reprint. Actually have scanned some parts of the 6-player I acquired last year to assist. But your guys did a great job in restoring the "beast". I hope to continue work on mine later this year. Artwork is definitely the biggest hurdle. Besides moving it that is... Mine also came with a 2nd PCB that I did the audio board repair on, in case you need one again in the future. Can't wait to visit PA early May and hope to stop by the shop. Great vids as always.
TNT Amusements Inc I am the guy currently working on the artwork. If you are still looking for repro files, let me know. We can definitely work something out :)
Edward Green, Jr Honestly, if you could get me clean, flat scans of the characters on the CPO, I would really appreciate it. I haven't been the biggest fan of some of the vectorizing, and I'm working to improve it.
Dazzler was the most fun to play! Underrated X legend! People always wondered why she was included in the game..well, she has an awesome power and great fighting skills.
One of my favorite arcade games as a kid. My local Wal-Mart had the 4-player version. It is a shame it never got a console release. I wonder why? It seems like it would have been a great game for a home conversion. I think the Super Nintendo could have handled a pretty faithful version of it. It would have been an awesome game for the Sega Saturn though, probably could have been arcade perfect.
What kind of paint and brushes you guys using? I would like to do touchup work on mine, but first would like to know what type of paint and brushes you guys use.
I am quite impressed with the process of how the cabinet is set up. I've been lucky enough to have had my run-ins with this cabinet several times. The first time was in a bowling alley in east Orlando, then I saw it at both the original Moana Mickey's arcade location at the Polynesian Resort and the Port Orleans Riverside arcade at Disney World a decade ago and even the arcade at Sanford's Flea World (which like it's amusement park sector was shut down due to rising insurance costs which was mainly from the rides) had this beast. as for how big it is, Taito's widescreen games (Darius, Sagaia, and The Ninja Warriors) look puny compared to the 6 player X-Men.
Crazy that back in like 99 I think, we had an Arcade called Tilt & Tumbles in Southland Mall here in Michigan and when they were going out of business they were selling this monster for like 500 and I believe they ended up lowering it to 350 dollars before it was finally snagged. My friend really wanted it and his dad would have bought it if not for the size.
I actually had the chance to see one of these in person in a shopping mall in Brazil of all places... back in the early 90s... Not sure what year, but MK2 was already out because they also had a giant MK2 machine there... so probably at the end of 93. Didn't play though because I was a poor dumb kid. I was with a friend he joined in for a bit.
I remember this game but 2-3 players max. I think besides being more expensive for the 6 player model it also made the game easier which translated to less quarters for the arcade. So not many were ordered. Which is why these suckers are so rare.
They had one of these monsters at my favorite arcade when I was a kid. In the same area with all the big sit-in cabinets, directly behind it and to the left was a Starblade... Which I think was smaller..
There was a roller rink I would go to with camp, when I was younger, and they had this machine....Thought it was so awesome and the game was so damn fun especially when it was full
We use a Latex paint...Clark Essington paint is great...and they have quite a few solid colors. ALso, the smaller paint colors are mixed by Steven and he uses Delta brand. After painting, a light coat of clear gloss will lock in the paint.
iDX1701 If the game originally had leaf switches, we use them...newer games like this one use microswitch buttons...we prefer the buttons that the microswitch is horizontal across the bottom.
Love the video Todd, really interesting! Next time you do a pinball video could you dedicate it to Sam Cullis from the UK? You have a lot of fans here as well, you inspired me to LED my F-14! Keep it up, love watching the TNT vids.
+Archyta5 Videos Hi Sam! Just saw this comment a few days ago...so it explains the delay in mentioning you! Look here at this video at the 13:25 minute mark! th-cam.com/video/VrixMshrX28/w-d-xo.html
Exist too in 2 and 4 players!, with 1 screen Japanese version of 4 players is a bit more easy and with others changes how more powerups and more short stages
+FortunaChan Yes...we have sold several of the 4 player...never had a 2 player of THIS version, but there are other XMEN's that are two player but different games.
this was a fun game. I remember being at Wyandot Lake in the erarly 90s playing this. there were ususally atleast a couple kids on it already playing it and you could just jump in and help out with the cause...unless Dazzler was the only one left, nobody wanted that bitch. Ah, the good ole days.
Really cool video! I love that extra piece of paper Konami included for shipping it. :) "Good luck" indeed. When I've had to move mine (twice) I never bothered to put the second monitor into the built in cradle but I've had to move it into a basement and then out and finally back into a basement again. Moving it with both monitors still in it would have made it even worse. For the serial number I've often thought it's the numbers right under the barcode. The pcb and both monitor chassis on my machine match the same number on the back. Will you guys have one in your showroom again?
I have been spending my free time and days off watching your videos and love the work you guys do. May I ask what type of paint does Steven use? I ask because I like to restore the art the same way but not sure if there is a paint that works better than most. Cheers TNT =]
Glad you are indulging in our videos! We use Delta brand paint from Lowes...you can also get these 4 oz bottles from a crafts store like Michaels. We use ACE Hardware paint (Clark and Essington) to paint the cabinets...they have the best paint for large areas.
you guys have the dream job of every adult that was dazzled by the arcade as a child, i just wanna let you all know were jealous, keep posting videos :D
Thank you! The videos will continue...maybe one will finally become viral!
I'm glad there are folks like guys rescuing these old dream machines. Thank you for your service.
Thanks for commenting!
You know what is better than this game? This man's enthusiasm for the arcade cabinet that houses this game :)
Tim O'Connell Thanks Tim!

Yes...many good memories!
Great! I would wait until Magneto said "X-MEN" and would really have a evil experience!
Oh man, that would be great for any arcade. X-Men arcade is still fun as hell. I always wanted to see the 6 player version,I usually saw the 4 player one.
We have another 6 player sold...watch for video soon!
The one I played must have been some variation because it had Jubilee instead of Dazzler.
There it is after all these years! My favorite cabinet! So much joy and happiness not only seeing it, but playing it as well. I remember it being loud.
I haven't seen this 6 player cabinet since the very early 90's. Somebody is gonna make the $ with this badboy.
+uniroyalbarrie They will be rolling in the dough! :-)
ok, wow, this is so cool!!!!!!!!! its really amazing to see the care put into restoring!
I am so glad I found this video! One of my strongest arcade memories as a kid was playing this game with five friends on my brother's 10th birthday. One of my favourite games ever. I went on holiday to Florida with my folks and this was in the local arcade, love it till this day. I always choose Wolverine.
Awesome video gents. I never knew that a 6 player X men cabinet existed. Hope you all are still doing well and doing what you love.
What a remarkable game. Wish I could have seen one of these in-person.
One of the local game stores has one of these. It's really a sight to behold. I never thought I'd see such a big cabinet in my lifetime. If I had the money, I'd buy it!
Its just so BIG!!
Your team should be commended. I'd love to have one of these featured in my gameroom. Great job guys!
Thank you!

Dan Krolikowski Thanks Dan! Glad you like our videos!
TNT Amusements Inc Let's get this straight- I don't like them. I LOVE THEM!
Man,you guys do some seriously GREAT work
Thanks!
Great video, guys. Nice to see some close-up footage of Steven painting the cabinet too 👍
Glad you liked it!
It was in Rio, x-zone barrashopping.
Wish we could see again.
I came just to remember what this machine looked like and I gotta say this was one entertaining video. Interesting stuff and you guys do great work.
Thank you!!
Pit fighter was huge also at that time!
Until Mortal Kombat overshadowed it.
Thank you for showing the insides of the cab :-)
Arcade STG It's so empty when you see it too!
Freaking gorgeous cabinet. I remember this one and Gauntlet Legends were massive!
You guys have my dream job. It's a damn shame I don't live near your shop, I'd work for quarters
:-)
sorry he doesnt hire men in dresses
Incredibly awesome, my fav game as a kid
I have two 6 player pcb I just recapped and repaired and I am happy that it is about to go to Boss Battle Games in Indianapolis to be put in a original cab. It was a pain using my cab and supergun for the dual display setup. I actually do repair work for Vintage Arcade out in Glendale CA
I only have one Astro cab but what I have in abundance are PCB, which includes damn near every Konami side scroller of the 90's, tons of Capcom and Snk stuff aso.
Glad you got it fixed!!
I played this massive cabinet around the summer '93 and I remember when I saw it in the middle of the room I almost jawdropped. This game was my saturday night at the Arcade as a 6-7 year old kid. Me and my brothers would play the hell out of it.
Kids really loved this game!!
Just as an FYI Todd, people in the community at KLOV and BYOAC are working on vectoring the artwork for reprint. Actually have scanned some parts of the 6-player I acquired last year to assist. That's terrific!! Maybe more will be found and saved!
TNT Amusements Inc I am the guy currently working on the artwork. If you are still looking for repro files, let me know. We can definitely work something out :)
Brian Fitzsimmons do you still need scans for any parts of the cab? Finally in a position to work on one of these again if so.
Edward Green, Jr Honestly, if you could get me clean, flat scans of the characters on the CPO, I would really appreciate it. I haven't been the biggest fan of some of the vectorizing, and I'm working to improve it.
I have a roller scanner so consider it done after the holidays.
Love playing that game here in The Philippines back in the 90s.
Thank you 😅
damn i used to play one of these, it was awesome to play with my friends back then
Dazzler was the most fun to play! Underrated X legend! People always wondered why she was included in the game..well, she has an awesome power and great fighting skills.
I played one of these @ Charlestown in the '90s
Zilog Z80 and Motorola 68000 hey? Standard good stuff back then... G'day from Australia
One of my favorite arcade games as a kid. My local Wal-Mart had the 4-player version. It is a shame it never got a console release. I wonder why? Maybe you can research google to find out why!
What kind of paint and brushes you guys using? I would like to do touchup work on mine, but first would like to know what type of paint and brushes you guys use.
was the color fixed in the right monitor before being shipped it was a bit off from the left one. just curious as it looks beautiful.
I think that's a result of a darkening from reflecting off the mirror. Maybe increasing the brightness a bit would make it match up better?
This is my main memory of arcades. So much fun with 6 players.
welcome to die

+figment1988 WOuld love to see a Darius again!
wow, what the? I never seen this before! words can't explain, beautiful absolutely beautiful.
Glad you liked how it turned out!
Nice television set :)
krtekcyberpunker That drives people CRAZY!!

+Justin Blystone :-)
I play the one at the Philly Barcade whenever I can. So much fun. Wish they were easier to find.
They are resurfacing as people fix them!
I remember beating this with six our people in the arcade
Yes....about 20 minutes from one end to the other I think!
I remember this game but 2-3 players max. I think besides being more expensive for the 6 player model it also made the game easier which translated to less quarters for the arcade. So not many were ordered. Which is why these suckers are so rare.
Beautiful! 😍
I saw one of these at an amusement park way back in the day. It blew my tiny little mind then. What a cool machine.
There are still some around!
I see the game in action When I was growing up and probably the best X-Men game imho.
that cab is a beast! cool vid :)
Thanks!
If I had the room, and the cash, I would so love to have this beast in my arcade room. I think the first time I played this game was in Vegas
It's definitely a Biggin'!
They had one of these monsters at my favorite arcade when I was a kid.
In the same area with all the big sit-in cabinets, directly behind it and to the left was a Starblade... Which I think was smaller..
How do you move an arcade cabinet as heavy as an iron refrigerator?
Love your videos! Just discovered them.
iDX1701 GREAT! Please subscribe!
I wish that game was in an arcade in my home town. I love it.
+Mr. CherryCola The classic arcades seem to be on a resurgence
There was a roller rink I would go to with camp, when I was younger, and they had this machine....Thought it was so awesome and the game was so damn fun especially when it was full
Kristopher Levine You will probably start to see this back into Barcades and classic Arcades!
HELP ***
I'm looking to buy VINTAGE coin Acceptor.
What kind of power supply do Vintage coin Acceptor use???
want to paint art on my arcade what kind of paint do i use and what do i put on it so it wont come off
We use a Latex paint...Clark Essington paint is great...and they have quite a few solid colors. ALso, the smaller paint colors are mixed by Steven and he uses Delta brand. After painting, a light coat of clear gloss will lock in the paint.
An absolute PILLAR of gaming for any 90s kid :D
Absolutely!
According to internet, michael jackson had one of these and its actually in its own museum. +1 and suscribed!
Hi just curious what kind of pushbuttons do you use on your refurbs?
iDX1701 If the game originally had leaf switches, we use them...newer games like this one use microswitch buttons...we prefer the buttons that the microswitch is horizontal across the bottom.

There's no way to find the graphics online, make vector images in Adobe Illustrator, and print them out?
David Curry Probably...anyone out there wanna do it?
We had one at our Aladdin's Castle in Hammond Indiana...RIP Woodmar Mall
Back in the day the Rockin Raceway in Pigeon Forge had a 6 player version. Arcades were so much better back then.
LUCKY YOU TO HAVE X-MEN ARCADE !!!!
Yes!
BTW if you ever work on another X-men 6 player machine, reproduction artwork is now available online.
Amazing X-men Arcade!
a big-gin'!
I used to love playing that arcade game at odyssey 1
Haven;t heard that name for a long time!
What a beast. The dude, that is.
ME????
Where did you guys get this, I'm wanting to purchase one
Hands down my favorite
Many people feel the same way!
Wow you guys are doing amazing work keeping these machines going! Props!
+dmace81 Thanks!!
Nice and compact
+Darren Connelly What I like to say...."Portable"!
Whats the retail on one of these? I've seen a 2 player & 4 player cabinets over the years but an actual 6 player cabinet is very rare.
Are both monitors same size? Why only one sticks out?
Amazing 6plyrs machine.Luckily Im the owner of 4 players x-men machine.Its great cabinet too.great job.Regards from Poland.

"How much time? a few hours"
*pulls out hourglass*
"Thats how long you have, and it isnt long my pretty, hahaha"
Alot of people loved that running gag! Still have that hourglass! Maybe I'll resurrect it once or twice in one of these videos.....
I don't understand why there weren't more six player arcade games out there. besides this, I only know of one other.
Space, cost, and limited future locations.
Steven is Just Awesome! is he going to be in the TNT Amusement Calendar? (J/K)
+dvddmc He would like that I think!
Great job re painting the art work. I can't get over the size of this machine. What is the price to get one?
Thanks! They sell for $2199.
i remember playing on one of these back in the day. such bliss
Fso LEfajo Great memories seem associated with this game!
Watching for like the 20th time :P
Glad you like this episode! I hope you thumbs up it!
@@tntamusements Of course, more than once! lol
That game is one of the greatest creations in interactive media.
quite possibly from the late 80's early 90's
I would love to have this in my house

What a cool business and place to work
+MrNiceHk Many people now work on games in their spare time!
Do you dispatch damage to you in America?
I'll probably route a 4 player next year when I get one.
904PinballZine its worth a try!

A guy around my area has one of these for sale. Issue is......."no sound". lol.
+Cary Hardy "Clunk!"
You could hide a dead body in that front part :P
Don't give me any ideas!!
sick!
old school cool!
yes it is!
