There is something special about a radial engine. From startup to shutdown the sound is different. I think it harks back to the early days of flying. I saw a Waco 10 when I was a kid and it was special. I wonder if anybody flies like they did long ago, with the bare minimum of instruments.
I used to fly out of Red Stewart Field (40I) in Waynesville, OH. A M12 was there once. The scoop under the cowling was labeled “Insert Lycomings Here”.

how much do these normally go for and what are the ususal operating costs? The Model 12 and the Extra 330 LT are my two dream aircraft to one day own and operate but even as a pilot, I am worried about finding a reasonable aerobatic aircraft to be able to own for recreational use. Any advice or links would help!
