Just so you know, I tried using a parachute to drop down the hole to get to a base down there , and it worked, opened and saved me, it still hurt me down to like 25 health but I made it down and took the bucket back up
How viable would a couple of minibases be, each within shooting distance of another so if you get raided or door camped you can just spawn in a different one and defend from it.

I really wish they would add caves to console Rust. Would love yo be able to build a cave base myself. Edit: You say you need the skull spike to tell time of day, but doesnt it tell you what time it is on the bottom of the screen when you bring your map up? It does on console edition?
This time there were so many fighting scenes that I was excited. Although the cave base is solid, it seemed difficult to get in and out. I think sub-bases are a good way to diversify risk.

Hey Cali have you ever thought about using a generator to charge your battery while under group? That way you wont risk losing the generator while transporting it Under ground?
Usually bucket cave I'll full seal the entrance and use the roof/wall bunker for the bucket, with the shotty trap or a flametrap to seal up if people survive the fall, once I progress far enough I'll have a turret or two(If you get a refinery going in the cave and your near a pump jack monument you can get a little nuts with generators)Just setup heartbeat sensors to the turret and generator
