Magnavox in the US, this is an AMAZING player.. this came out in 1994. Bitstream isn't marketing garbage, it's a 1bit DAC and blows my Sony D35 out of the water.

I even took the odd one apart. The thing that tended to go wrong with these was something in the laser head would break so it could not read disks anymore. The one my parents got me had the ability to read MP3 disks so I would just burn my music lirbery onto one disk & take that everywhere.

Okay I didn't think it was going to have any anti-skip buffer but turns out it did. Very odd of them to not advertise that on the box or on the unit in 1999 that was a big selling feature that I've always seen advertised on the box and on the unit. In fact they usually had a switch or button to turn that feature on or off since it drains batteries faster.

I know, I was surprised by that too.

I have some Sony portable CD players that are quite resistant to skipping even with the ESP anti-shock turned off. Far better than my first portable which was a Sanyo that wouldn't even play upside down because the CD rubbed on the lid !

All the in ear headphones use to lead to so meany ear infection problems so that is why I refuse to use them, plus the over the head ones sound better.

I couldn't stand them, always falling out, and crap sound.

Everyone had one of these back in the day. Then they slowly transissioned to iPods, at first it was just the rich kids that had the iPods.
