Love Love you guys! Massive Shoutout from the 🇬🇧. You are so generous with your invaluable advise, some of which I have used to put together the 1st draft of my sell sheets! Thanks. Keep up the fantastic work!!
@@inventRight well, the customer wants only to see the end benefit. The licensee, wants to see the end benefit, but it has to be in a marketable light, jingle and slogans work with customers, not so much with licensees it seems?
The customer's priority is the end benefit. The licensee's priority is "Can I make money with this product." One is using the product, the other is selling the product. As a 35-year graphic designer, I would design the sell-sheet artwork completely different for each.
I really appreciate all the content you guys provide. As a first time inventor, I feel the available information available to outsiders is very limited. BTW: @Stephen Keys:. Time got the absolute coolest white hair ever! You sport it like a boss! 😉
If my invention is patent pending and my intent is to license my invention to manufactures, is it okay to make my sell sheet without my rendered images? I don’t want my idea to be stolen with first to file!
The "Stuck in the Dark thing" is probably indicative of "We started the walk in evening after work, but the sun set before we got home." But your right, it's too specific to take up such valuable real estate on the sheet.
id really love to see more of this type of content where you two critique submitted sell sheets from students or people. ( i like Andrew cuz hes real on the minor stuff)
Where's the link for GloCoat? they put 'trademark' on their sell sheet but not sure if they still have it - www.amazon.com/Top-Performance-Conditioner-Detangler-16-Ounce/dp/B001MUPH0A
I read your book & watched your videos....It has not been my experience to get my “provisional patent” idea and it’s benefits in front of an interested licensee 😞. Your book gave me hope that having a sell sheet( a dynamic one) would do what I could not do on my own.... no prototype yet.... hoping my sell sheet would crack or open a door. Still in search 😏 My idea of an improved desk organizer would be much larger and other benefits would be functional even in a home office, bank, on top of a dress or vanity... not sure why some companies don’t have the equipment or skill set. Someone once said that every good idea isn’t a God idea..... I choose to believe differently on that prospective. Not giving up on my vision. Your modules(cost)at this time aren’t affordable... unfortunately .
Thanks, very informative. As a Graphic Designer, I am particularly interested to see what you guys consider to be a good sell sheet. Andrew, you could use a better microphone. Check out the Blue Yeti, the one a lot of streamers and TH-cam content creators use. It's relatively inexpensive and sounds great.
Hi Stephen, I am from India and I wanna pitch my patent pending idea to a company that's in another country. Do I have to do anything differently? For example, does the NDA have to be different?
No difference. Just go for it and pitch it! We've had student in over 60 countries. Don't ever think your geography limits you .It doesn't with licensing. Companies just want good ideas.
Three dogs shoes it fits any size dog. This is a idea I had 8 years ago but I never go forward with anything , I thought you had to have millions of dollars. So many of my idea came to market after I talked to my wife about them it's crazy. Instead I drive truck lol.
Change the 3 Dogs PICS into In the Dark Demo Testimonials with a car overtaking in the rain / headlights. One pic from the Driver point of view, from the front window, One Pic with Little Dog in the dark, One Pic with Bigger Dog. Good luck
Morning working on a humanitarian and climate change related invention ... Q: i really want to connect with u guys - i have an invention soon to be patented but just getting injection moulds - sell sheet etc ready for patenting and attracting support - the solution my invention delivers is 3 intense written sheets - i really want to show u guys but the power of a sell sheet wont do it - i think several short videos is the only way ( painfully time consuming😬) so i will get to work on these and hopefully it will be ok to show you 🙏 Have a great day - and thanks for all your great inventor vids Kind regards Peter Honey 😁 Lombok Forgotten Children Foundation
Great video guys. Just my opinion for glocoat sell sheet. Benefits says reflective tape. Also it’s washable. Hmmn. A bit confusing. I think the pictures of 3 dogs is a waste of space. It could have been use for the picture product minus the dog. Also, it’s difficult to read the name of the product.
Stephen and i thought the same thing initially about the three dogs, but it does give context as the fake dog the vest is on doesn't give you the warm and fuzzies that pictures of dogs do.
Great comment. You may only have a three second attention span. Believe or not.... marketing managers at big companies only have about a six second attention spam. SO YOU ARE SPOT ON WITH NEEDING TO GRAB ATTENTION RIGHT AWAY. You are getting the mindset. Excellent!
Regarding GLO-COAT... it seems a waste of time and money to be naming products, coming up with slogans, and especially to be spending money on trademarking them. The licensees will want to name it themselves and have their own marketers come up with names and slogans. At least that one showed a benefit statement, but too bad for them they wasted money on that. Also stock photos of dogs at the bottom is a waste of precious space that could sell other benefits of the jacket.
As a graphic designer of over 35 years I agree with most your redesign ideas. But... the video would be a more effective tool if you cut the chatter down and introduced a few dozen samples. Visual references only make sense to a majority of viewers if they see it in action. At the very least you could have fired up the photoshop and redesigned a few sample brochures. Both good and bad examples educate better than verbal descriptions.
More sell sheet videos please...very helpful

Thanks so much Eni. Kind comments like yours keep us wanting to do more shows.
Thank you for your encouragement Eni!
Who do you get to create a sale sheet for you and how much would it cost roughly.
There are slight, but crucial differences between marketing to consumers, and marketing to licencees, that people seem to blur together.
What do you mean, Andrew? For example....
@@inventRight well, the customer wants only to see the end benefit. The licensee, wants to see the end benefit, but it has to be in a marketable light, jingle and slogans work with customers, not so much with licensees it seems?

Turning Features into Benefits is a great concept !
Yes, it's all about the benefits! Benefits sell!

Thumbs up inventright…..massive love
Thank you for the examples and tips!

EBDesign Great suggestions 😊
You guys love your work. It's fun!
Thank you!

It's great to see everyone analyzing and learning. Great job!
Great insight.
The 3 dogs to me implies the sizes varied for everyone's dogs.
Great point!
Great point.
First thing that popped up in my head too
Thank you thank you thank you I needed to see this !! :)

Would you be willing to submit your sell sheet?
@@inventRight sure I would love to, but I cant find where to submit it. if its through your website please let me know, im not a member yet.
Amazing info thank you!
Hi do you have sample work for hire agreements?
Great help thanks!
Thank you for invaluable information you guys are sharing. Keep up with the great job.
This could be a Photographer's or Videographer's vest with batteries lights supplies. I would have loved this when i was in the business.
Interesting idea! Thank you for sharing.

How funny would that be if you had invented the product u were pushing
@@kbar1128 I wish, they are quite popular. I didn't realize how old this video was when I was commenting. He has a much better mic these days.
Great advice! The presentation needs to look finished front to back.

You didn't show us the video part of sell sheet and tell us something about it.
"GLO-WALK" in super large, and the PICTURE.. That would have been enough for me, I only got like a three second attention span.

The guy on the right should let Stephen talk more. He interrupts too much.
This would not get a patent in OZ - just putting two items into one is way too easy.
You don't need a patent to license a simple product idea. And, most patents are worthless: www.entrepreneur.com/article/346966
