This is such an interesting recipe. I never thought that these three things together could keep flowers alive longer! Very helpful in case I'm out of flower food!

This is a great tip! I usually use water, sugar and then equal parts bleach and ammonia (at least 1/2 cup each) to make sure my flowers last, but I will have to give the lemon juice a try instead one of these days! Also congrats on having enough occasions where you receive flowers to create a life hack for them!

1/2 a cup each of bleach and ammonia? Is it a really large vase?

Is there any option against bleach what can use as flower food ingredient

I have zero expertise, but the bleach even though it may help with the fungus seems counterintuitive to a living plant. Have you ever tried vinegar?

Do you think that this method would also be helpful for watering potted plants, or is it specifically designed only for flowers?

I wouldn't recommend adding this mixture to potted plants. However, you can use diluted bleach to clean moldy pots or add diluted lemon juice to your potted plants to keep the pH of their soil at a neutral level of 7.
