As much as we all want to see a hit on the first shot, It was absolutely amazing watching from the first shot to the last. The communication, the focus not letting the misses trip you up. 13 miles os an easy day in the mountains. But snow makes it a bit tougher. That is why preseason training for 6 months is important.
Got-damn I love these videos! Living most of my life on the East Coast, I have worked really hard to become the most skilled poser in the game. GoHunt's gear shop helps me look like I know what I'm doing, and these videos help me live vicariously through legit hunters. It's a one-stop shop! Keep them coming boys. Another 2 or 3 Septembers out West, and maybe I'll be able to watch without shame.

I mountaineered for a decade all in my 30’s. I got all that type 2 fun out of my system like this hunt. Hammer down Brady!
Took a nice buck 6 miles in. We were hunting the rattlesnake range of Central Wyoming at about 8000 ft. Took us 2 days to get the buck out, and this was before GPS. To be honest at 40 yrs. I never hunted that high or that far in again!

That brings back memories of one of our CO OTC elk trips. Buddy shot a bull opening morning as the snowstorm rolled in. Long story short, we spent the whole second day of the season moving camp off the mountain. Third day couldn't get the truck up much past our original camp spot. 3 miles up the road, then 1.5mi up the mountain in waist deep snow to get to where he stashed the meat. Brutal day

I'm glad you got your truck out! Same thing happened to me this fall. Difference is that my truck was on the mountain substantially longer!
My gosh I was worried!! Your story sounds like mine, but a lot worse. It was one of those decisions that the terrain was so steep, that going back to my truck and packing the bull out that way seemed like an unsafe decision. I was so worried if not see my truck until spring.

Nice bull. It's amusing listening to you talk about how you're a muley hunter but focused on the elk because it was available. I am absolutely going for elk first, but have shot at deer when the elk weren't showing themselves. Meat in the freezer is meat in the freezer.

I've done late season elk hunts in the snow...and it is hard. REALLY hard. I know that's not what the goal was, but holy cow he earned it. Well done, incredible grit.
As Brian Call would say some men can and some men can’t. Idk how I would fair in this situation but I would do just about anything to experience this right here. Well done Brady, videos like this give me the motivation to get into shape to do these sorts of things.

“Drilled him!” Right in the guts….
The internet is a fun place haha. Watch it in slow motion, the shots were not in the guts. You can see the impact mark on the side it entered. Then as the bull turns after my camera guy said "drilled him" you can see both other shots right where they need to be.

Awesome adventure. Y’all are making top notch content. Just curious why you chose not to backpack hunt if you were going in that far?
Appreciate you watching! I really just wanted to be more mobile since this was a new unit for me. I had my backpack stove and tent with, but I figured staying this course would provide me with a little more opportunity, rather than putting all my eggs into one smaller location on a backpack hunt. Plus then we wouldn't have to carry more of the late season gear with every day on our back. I love backpacking on these late hunts, but sometimes with so many roads, I'll elect to do this method.
