YOU'D FREAKING THINK SO, WOULDN'T YOU?!
Just nod and agree :P

She is a good meatshield tho

front line...
"Maybe when aqua levels up she can learn some support skills.."
Oh my poor sweet summer child.
That would require her to be intelligent, as this episode already said she just gonna waste it on party trick! 😅
@@franklangston3004 worse she was already maxed out stat wise and used up all her points on stupid skills. so she will NEVER get better
Let her cook for now
@franklangston3004 Oh in the books she literally started with every archpriest skill unlocked with all her stats capped she can literally never grow and she is unable to learn any actually useful skills because they are all class locked.
@@TheDustyPeaches Well, you forget that Aqua's skills are actually really overpowered, the problem is that she has no idea what to do with them. And there are moments where she does, and you can realise just how powerful she would be if her brain wasn't holding her back.
Slowly Alicia realizes that konosuba is us basically Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia but in Isekai anime form
Oh my god, that’s perfect! 😂
Kazuma - Dennis
Aqua - Dee
Megumin - Charlie

"I genuinely couldn't tell if she was climaxing or filled with anxiety-"
Both, both is about right
more of the first part really😅
She was climaxing over having anxiety.
Darkness: "There's a difference?"
yeah, a little of both
Both?
Both.
Both is good.
Among the party of 4, there are five braincells, and Kazuma has three of them.
Megumin has 2, Darkness has 1, and Aqua has -1. Aqua, just by her mere presence, makes those around her dumber.
@@omargoodman2999that math doesn't even work in this situation. 3+2+1= 6, aqua may have -1 but that doesn't take away from the total
@@cheeseoh Aqua did the maths.
@@omargoodman2999I'd argue for Darkness having 2 braincells since she's kinda competent in formal scenarios.
@@cheeseoh yes it does???
Don't forget, even though the little mage has 8th-grader syndrome she's still a caster, and that means she HAS to have high INT.

Alicia: "We have a useful frontline!"
Monkey's paw curls.
Aqua is suposed to be the godess of water, every attack she make have water attribute in it, the giant frogs are immune to water attribute, so aqua can never win a fight against a giant frog
Lol dummass
Water absorb op
Frog OP, please nerf
If I remember properly, the frogs also have resistance to blunt force damage. Hence why Kazuma used a sword. While Aqua tried to punch it and smack it with a stick.
I guess use the giant frogs to slay Aqua
Bruh, Alicia keeps talking shit but Aqua and Megumin have contributed a total of less than 0% to the party currently, Kazuma is the one keeping them from becoming frog food.
To be fair,it's Aqua the one started to disrespect Kazuma ..So she already lose his respect.....plus Megumin ruined his reputation...Kazuma are the victim here
That is not entirely true. Megumin has in fact killed one of the frogs they needed to complete the quest, she got almost eaten afterwards, but that is still a contribution regardless.
Aqua essentially tanked 3 frogs for Kazuma to take down (he can't fight them 1x1) and Megumin did obliterate one.
We say they are useless because that's the joke. But if you're not joking, the show makes pretty obvious they all contribute to the party in their disfunctional ways. That's the whole point of KonoSuba: together they make both the worst and the best party.
She killed a frog and brought the last one out to complete the quest.
It's not much but it's more than 0
@@rafaelcalmon2858 Bro anyone can be eaten by those frogs and survive, the whole point is that it's easy to kill them since they swallow someone and takes a long time to fully swallow it whole. She didn't even did it willing so there's zero to none acknowledgement needed
I would just like to point out that Kazuma is doing everything. He killed 4/5 toads. The rest of the party are advanced specialists who can only heal or make stuff explode. He is the all-rounder that keeps them together. While Aqua spends all her points on party tricks he actually get useful skills, even if he uses them in questionable ways sometimes. For the time being he is carrying the party. He may be a piece of sh*t, but so is the rest of the party for the most part. The difference is he has the decency to keep some of it internal.
(it leaks out so often because of how much bs he deals with)
it is also worth considering that Kazuma shows his best qualities only in extreme conditions. (so this group of questionable teammates is perfectly revealing it)

@@TheCsel there are different levels of enjoying your job just a little too much lol
To be fair Kazuma killed 4 of the 5 toads. Sure they were distracted by eating the other 2 but he still did more of the actual fighting than them.
The look of shock as your excitement over darkness turned to apprehension and horror is kinda hilarious
Pretty much how most characters react to Darkness. Beautiful knight but as you get to know her you're really put off by her weirdness

George Takei : Oh My
Hello Darkness my old friend...
Me, a fellow DevilArtemis subscriber: I understood that reference.😅
I cant blame Kazuma to talk shit about Aqua and Megumin, I mean he did kill 4/5 toads xDDD
aqua is basically almost as scathing as kazuma except for the fact that she doesn't have an internal monologue: which is what she says everything out loud💀💀
Honestly, kazuma isnt awful. Hes average. Hes definitely not the most powerful on the team, but you could consider him their "all-rounder." So far, hes easily contributed the most and is easily the most reliable party member
I love how she calls Megumin cringe then meets Darkness. Lol.
9:45 Chuunibyou or chuuni for short.
Yup speaking if Alicia should watch Chuunibyou
@@theoamos24Facts
Added context, it "literally" translates to "eighth-grade syndrome" and refers to how kids around middleschool age can tend to get a bit... overenthusiastic... about imagining themselves as superheroes or real-life Anime characters or "secretly having a dark power sealed within them which mustn't be unleashed upon the world... yet". Basically think of all the Middle and Highschool kids who started Naruto Running when that show was at peak popularity, or "I have the power of God and Anime on my side".
On *that* note... _Eminence in Shadow._ I _highly_ recommend watching it. I won't spoil *anything* here (and no one else should, either), except that it's _that_ trope, cranked up to eleven...
...
... _thousand._
Alicia: “I have no hope for them.”
Me: “Perfect!”
"Konosubaaaa"
"useful front line"
the jury is still out on that one, and i dont think we ever will get them back.
Its weird how she calls herself "Darkness" and we all get over that part pretty fast! XD
That's probably reasonable given how many people with obviously fake names have been in that town making their new names for themselves as adventurers.
Yes, we certainly have a "useful" frontline now, totally, Darkness will certainly now have any odd quirks based on our track record so far.
I mean she becomes (sort of) useful in season 2 😅
Darkness’s theme will never get old
So, there's an explaination to why Aqua's God Blow and God Requiem didn't work on the Frogs. Aqua is a Water Goddess, so her God Blow and God Requiem are 100% Water Damage, and the Frogs have a 100% damage immunity from Water Damage
I tought it was because they were blunt attack and the frog were immune to all blunt attack
@@uruxdrone well, it can be both right?
I used to think so about the toads being water-aligned, until we saw the S3 ED. That tadpole freaking died in the fountain. Clearly the toads are Earth element.
In the sub I watched she said something about them destroying all evil or something. So I always thought it was because the toads aren't "evil", but this makes more sense.
@@LaserShark123 The next scene shows the tadpole very much alive being reunited with its parents. It was probably just relaxing or passed out from the heat. It was a hot bath after all.
When you relize that Kazuma soloed 4 Frogs.
Killed, yes. Soloed, no. The key here is that it seems a frog won't either run away or fight back while it's eating something live. He might have eventually thought to buy goats or something and use them as bait, but then again he might not have. So without other party members he kills zero frogs and hypothetically might not get away either.
For all the crap we give Kazuma, he did kill 4 toads...
It's always Sunny in Fantasyland.
Megumin's VA improvised the chant and changes it for every explosion. 23:50 face palms mumbling episode 3.
Megumin is a mage, knowing only one spell, in which she only spend her skill points to increase its potency, but never increases her mana capacity and never learns new spells either...
She's, in other words, a one shot OP cannon and then complete useless and vulnerable, until her mana is recovered, which takes a day
Her mana capacity does in fact increase a bit. The problem is she's also raising the minimum cost of her explosion spell to compensate.
On the one hand, Kazuha choosing not to give her any other abilities when she let him level her up may have been the right call in the end. On the other, his choosing not to do this did a lot to facilitate her build becoming necessary; there were a lot of alternatives he ruled out because he and the author had her climactic moment in mind from the very beginning and wanted to keep it.
Konosuba is a trip and I love it.
Kazuma is the most capable of his party despite his average stats and he has the most common sense, but he’s lazy and avoids exerting himself.
Meanwhile, his companions are all very powerful but useless due to their extreme personality flaws.
However, when Kazuma rallies them, they can accomplish great things. It’s puts them into a fascinating cycle of three steps forward and two steps. Overall they succeed but not without bizarre and spectacular fails.
They form a dysfunctional family and I love them. Welcome to KonoSuba.
In the novel it was explained that Aqua's "Goddess Punch" didn't work on the frogs due to their immunity to water alignment attacks, and Aqua is a water goddess.
Kazuma killed 4 of the 5 frogs for this quest. He has any right to call the others useless.
Also he died because he thought he got run over by a truck not becasue he touched a girl, silly Alicia ^^
All the main characters are so awful in the best way
I think Alicia relates too much with Aqua. I don't blame her since, if you think about it, both share the same attitude.
The first episode. Aqua sitting on her throne like chair. Alicia avatar also in a similar chair. Both tearing into Kazuma. Yup. Aqua is Alicia's spirit animal.
That's sad bro.
Edit: Both of their names start with an A too.
"Piss boy you still don't have the right to complain this much" you do realize he killed 4 of the 5 giant toads for that quest right? I think he has every right.
Oh. Thats great idea Ali. It would be amazing if Aqua decide that she dont wanna be useless and put her skills into some mana buff or regeneration. That would be amazing...
It ended up being Kazuma job to recharge Megumin using Aquas Mana most of the time, since she have a lot
I love how he essentially had to panic kill 4 of the 5 frogs. Also, don’t worry about having another frontliner…
Megumin are one of the most precious girl in this series make her appearance ...Her VA are Rieri/Rieri Takahashi....who also voicing Emilia from Rezero..... ❤❤ You gonna love her character very much
“The moment he touched a girl and died.” Kazuma died because he hallucinated that he was run over by a truck and had a heart attack from the shock. He thought the girl was in danger and pushed her “out of the way”. He didn’t die from touching her. Kazuma hadn’t slept in 3 days and was completely out of it.
23:46 .....
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Useful front liner + darkness in the same sentence... yeah, let's go with that positivity.
I don't think it's ever explained why Aqua's attack didn't work on the toad
Just in case 'SPOILER':
As Aqua is the Goddess of Water all her attacks are imbued with the water element. Giant Toads are completely immune to the water element :>
That low luck really kicking in
Dang, Alicia saying that Megumin probably also has low intelligence like Aqua despite it being the total opposite sure is something. Especially since it was stated that mages *need* to have high intelligence. And she's not just a mage but an arch mage.
Alicia: She’s a little bit delusional.
Me: …A little?
We love Megumin’s explosions here. They’re so great.
25:03 ALICIA! PLEASE! IM ON SPEAKER DAMN IT! 🤣😂 I legit got nervous 😅
Alicia: I doesn't know if she was climaxing or is filled with anxiety."
Chat Answer: "Yes."
The fact that Alicia was struggling to remember the term chuunibyou made me think about it and convinced me that she would love to watch the actual Chuunibyou anime. Also, if I misspelled that term, it's cause the person in the chat that named it misspelled it in the episode, and I just copied the spelling they gave.
Enter Darkness
Alicia: “We have a useful frontline!”
Me: Have you learned absolutely nothing so far?
Everyone in the main quadrette is tied for the worst and we love them for it.
when you think about it there's no reason to mute chat during konosuba
I been noticing when ever she ask chat something she almost alway go back to watching right before someone answer
So what you are saying is we are kazuma and you are Aqua stats wise checks out.
Seeing Alicia's reaction to megumin makes me want to see her react (love chuunibyo) I would literally kill to see that
yes so much
9:20 The term is Chūnibyō. Typically shortened to to just Chunni.
this is the first time i see someone side with Aqua. I'm sad for you Alicia
You're going to see they deserve each other... And that hilarity will ensue 😂
"Aqua isn't just a healer. She also is support."
If you can classify being a decoy or distraction as support, absolutely. ;)
Supplementary info/LN stuff
6:12 - Not bad Luck, she just hit them with Blunt damage, which Giant Toads have immunity to (since they were immobilized, Kazuma has to keep attacking with average damage and would be in danger if they weren’t because he doesn’t have a lot of metal on him.) If Darkness was there, she’d be useless, because they ignore targets equipped with a lot of metal on them. 9:36 - Chuunibyou, I mention this, because Megumin is based on Rikka from Love, Chuunibyou, and Other Delusions (her VA voiced Megumin in a Drama CD and LN 2’s title is a parody of the series, called: Love, Witches, and Other Delusions.) 16:33 - Mana and HP, to show how powerful it is. 17:07 - If you’ve seen S1E9, you can look below the spoiler.
Aqua’s stats, skills, and potential are all maxed out and she has nothing left to learn or increase, basically like Saitama in OPM. To add onto this, Megumin has high Int, but low Wis, while Aqua has high Wis, but low Int (only Kazuma has Luck that isn’t low or mediocre.)
Edited - Fixed timestamp.
small lore tidbit. all of aqua's attacks are converted to holy water damage type , and giant frogs have near absolute resistance to all water type attacks.
Something the show left out when it came to the frogs is that they're highly resistant to blunt damage and outright immune to water attacks. Aqua is a _water goddess_ who attacked by punching. If it had been any other opponent, she would've done at the very least _respectable_ damage (or nigh _apocalyptic_ damage if it were an undead), but she chose to take a swing at one of the few entities in the world that's tailor made to clown on her. The poor blue thing brought the world's biggest rock to a paper fight.
21:34 I think they're referencing lotion/oil play
Your question at the end about Darkness: the answer is yes
I will never stop comparing Megumin with Pokemon who can learn Self Destruct
23:49 “we have a useful front line”
Useful?
1:01 Lol, that's usually how it works in games and anime
As someone else said, this is the it’s always sunny, of this genre+medium
9:27
It's called Chunnibiyo. I won't spoil anything but, just know she's not the only Chunnibiyo you'll see.
i love how you get your hopes up for each new member and... yeah. lol
Rule 2 of Konosuba: just because they live in fantasy rpg doesn't mean anyone knows the meta
All of Aquas physical attacks get Water attributed cause she’s the water goddess. Which happens to be the element the frogs are resistant to, bad matchup for her
23:49 I think I laughed for solid 20sec my stomach hurts 😂
Y'know, the funny thing about Luck... it doesn't just effect what loot you get, in some cases it also effects your critical hit chances. In Aqua's case, because she has low luck, she can't crit... so even if she attacks something, it wouldn't do any damage. Whereas Kazama has high Luck is the one carrying them.
This is gonna be the most wild adventure since Prison School. Prepare to piss yourself laughing at the awkward squad!
If someone already said it apologies in advance. The trope name you're thinking of is chunibyo. There's actually an anime with the same name
The name of the trope is Chuuni
"We finally have a useful frontline!" after Darkness appears is pure comedy
I admire Alicia's faith in the party's potential usefulness even after 3 misses.
"Kazuma, you didn't ask any questions!" and you're starting to realise how Kazuma is his own worst enemy. I swear if he took five minutes out of his day to just think about what to do, he'd live on easy street
23:47 "We have now a usefull front line" she said. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Konosuba is basically the D&D campaign where the DM has to do everything in his power to not have a TPK occur during every single goddamn fight (and most social interactions).
God blow - her rage is too shallow
God requiem - her love is too shallow
Aqua never wins these
Its so accomodating of the characters to make sure they deserve everything that happens to them
23:48 oh no, she doesn’t know…
While people tend to remember it being an anime trope, chunnibyou is very much a real life psychological condition that tends to happen...however it isn't harmful.
It's more classified as a coping mechanism for early teenagers as they figure themselves out.
Alicia will love this anime 😂, also my fav character just introduced in the end😂
10:00 it's likely been answered but the trope is called chunibeyo basically "middle school syndrome" when characters have basically this delusion that they are this all powerful super cool mysterious figure its called that because irl children also had/have that phase sometimes and likely cringe when thinking back on it once they've grown up. i had that shit i was cringe but somehow self aware enough to keep that shit to myself so no one can shame me only i can shame me
Ah Konosuba, the show that truely demonstrates the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts.
Aliciaxlife: "You give me hope, don't let me down".
Oh my sweet summer child.
fun fact: aqua's god blow is insanely op and can one hit anything. the problem is that those giant toads are immune to water attribute and cause aqua is the goddess of water her god blow has water attribute hence not doing any dmaage to toads
They all may be fuck ups, but that are our fuck ups. Despite what it may seem Kazuma is the most reliable and mentally stable out of the group. He may bitch and moan in his mind about the others and it may slip out from time to time, but let's just be honest here they kinda really do deserve it at times. Given this is a comedy show with fantasy elements I have a feeling you really will enjoy it.
