    It's been our practice to "fortify" the ground system when doing our ground mounts. We establish a new AHJ compliant ground system at the array but also bond it to the rest of the ground system.
    My thought is that doing this can help reduce the risk of damage to the rest of the electrical system in the event that the ground mounted solar array is struck by lightning.
    I've seen it said that it does not need to be bonded to the rest of the electrical system's ground system.
    What would you take from the NEC that would clarify the best practice?
