Feel so sorry for the one that says he only drinks alcohol now so many fall into this beliefe that it’s only alcohol when the reality is alcohol is worse than crack & heroin put together I know this from personal experience i was in and out of rehabs,detoxes for many years and watched people get off the drugs but come back worse than ever with alcoholism I wish this lad can come back from this where he is it’s hard but it’s achievable I’m living proof of that (17years) unfortunately some poor souls never make it back

I took a walk through Birkenhead yesterday, the way it’s been left to rot over the last 20-30 years is an absolute disgrace. I used to have a flat in woodland road so I’ve seen it in real time. Even the people everyone looks worn out and tired , made me sad.
Like most working class areas , l grew up in Birkenhead , and had a wonderful childhood , l left 35 years ago had to visit couple weeks ago , and l have to say it made me cry to see it absolutely heartbreaking 💔

My son is in the ymca in birkenhead i cant have him at home but that doesnt mean i dont love him with all my heart he is an alchaholic ive been meeting him every wensday but seen him this week go down hiĺl hes gone 28 days without a drink but hes gone off the face of the earth again 💔 i believed he was getting help i even paid the gym for him i just dont no what to do anymore x
My son rang me hes not slipped hes been in isolation becouse someone took his bank card and he found out who it was so he confronted them billy hes not scared of anyone he has been in walton 2002 he is trying his best to get his life back on track hes going to knightingales and meetings at different places x

Thanks for shining a light on people who are forgotten and neglected. I grew up in the Wirral and came back for a visit in the Summer, was shocked by some areas like Birkenhead and Liscard that aren't what they once were. I don't know what the answers are, they're not simple, but leaving these people and areas to rot should never be an option.

Watched all the strange ways riot programmes , Paul appeared a well versed and well educated man , such a shame to see what possibly long incarceration, has done to this man as well as other mental torture , he has no doubt endured along the prison journey. Was very very sad to see .

Mr Billy, it's such a shame and an embarrassment that there is no proper care for ex prisoners when they get out. I know people have to help themselves, but when they are released to fail, what is man or woman to do. If I am allowed to say this then the British government needs to put more into this.
Heroin should be more socially acceptable than alcohol. Alcohol is the biggest killer worldwide especially when you consider all the offshoots of deaths it causes like drunk drivers knocking children over etc.

It's pretty crazy down town Birkenhead is pretty rough but five minutes from there in car are multi million pound houses . Same as the side of Bidston hill you've got Eleanor Road and Vyner road at the top with houses up to 4 million on them and the middle of the ford at the bottom . On the footpath in-between you e got women in hunter Welliez with Caribbean sun tans walking Thier dogs alongside crack heads with no teeth it's pretty mad the disparity in wealth within 1000 yards .

It's pretty crazy down town Birkenhead is pretty rough but five minutes from there in car are multi million pound houses . Same as the side of Bidston hill you've got Eleanor Road and Vyner road at the top with houses up to 4 million on them and the middle of the ford at the bottom . On the footpath in-between you e got women in hunter Welliez with Caribbean sun tans walking Thier dogs alongside crack heads with no teeth it's pretty mad the disparity in wealth within 1000 yards .
