  • It's not just rock 'n roll. The street noise in a city can be over 90 decibels. That's enough to cause hearing loss through long exposure. This segment listens to the sounds of New York City and explains how just being there can lead to hearing loss.

    I know what you mean. I have light, but pronounced tinnitus from loud music and noise exposure. Being that I'm really cautious of my hearing, I've often wondered how loud a busy street in the city can get. With all the trucks, motorcycles, cars, sirens and squeaky breaks, its probably not a bad idea to keep a pair of earplugs on you. I usually keep some on me just in case.
