No apologies necessary Monty. I’m glad you took a break! On a selfish note I’ve started working on another build and believe it or not I’m at the same stage so this video is actually timely. Thank you for allowing me to catch up! Aligning the plates on the rims is difficult and your idea to sand to the pencil line is actually a great idea. The less overhang while running a router the better or else the chips will fly. My take is that the extra mass acts like a lever for material inside the cut to get pried out. Better to just use the bit to refine an existing curve and not let it do all the heavy lifting.
Thank you. You are so correct but do leave some wiggle room beyond the pencil line. I will use a hand plane to bring it in close of the spindle sander.I saw Bob Benedetto do that on a belt sander. but he has way more experience than I do at this. We are all still learning.
