We had to tweak the choke to fit a Honda Helix carb, the original carb for the 150 is just too expensive for us. Now we have to get buckets, piston, and hopefully just that left. But, now, she fires right up with a different carb. Last owners since 07 didn't take great care of her, at least the last couple.
The 150 is super fun but if your over like 130 lbs and 5’5 you should probably get a 250, because the 150s are basically the same size as the 2 stroke 85s.
I love these 150s I got one myself and I got a yz250f but I always seem to ride the 150 more in the woods just so much power and in a smaller chassis makes it so much fun to rip around just a bitch to get running tho😂
That bike should cold start for the first time each day in 2-3 kicks Max. Pull the choke, 2-3 pumps of the throttle (because the carb has an accelerator pump to squirt fuel), and kick. My 2013 usually starts with one kick. I converted mine to a supermini to track ride, and learned valves need to be adjusted every 7 hours. The rear brake side intake valve gets tight Significantly faster than all the other valves. I also have track riding videos on my page if that interests you...
Sweet I haven’t done anything to the valves how should I get to them, I also just got a brand new oil filter that I’m gonna put in but I want to tune it up bc it’s running good but I want it to last. I changed out the air box too so that might help it to start there was a stink bug in it 💀
@@tyride69 I recommend getting a service manual to reference, or create your own reference doc with maintenance info you have needed as you do new things. I have both for easy reference during maintenance. For valve lash checks I pulled the side plastics, seat, and fuel tank off on mine for more room and visibility. Remove the coil, sparkplug, then valve cover to access the camshaft. Set the engine to top dead center (TDC) and use a set of feeler gauges to check clearances. It's all easier than it sounds, but the first time can be a little intimidating. Do some reading/research, and set aside time to work slow. I have seen a couple decent videos on YT that might help you more.
