The one thing I came here for you glanced over...How do you extrude the spline points to add more??? Literally pulling on the handle curves the spline or extends the distance between two points. Awesome job.
@@dreambadger works, thank you. where are the options in the menu points when i hold alt? where could i see an option like "new point"? just for the future ;)
If anybody is having issues with choppy movement or stuttering along the dolly track, trying upping the "Look at Tracking Interp Speed" on the camera. Raising it from 0 to 6 fixed what looked like an earthquake happening in my scene. :)
Underrated comment. At this writing, this is beta. It isn't enabled by default. You'll notice things like absolute position, drive mode -- basically most of the goodies in this video won't be there until you enable that and put in the right cine rig rail.
Title specifically says "how to use X" and right off the bat you're clicking around adding points willy nilly without explaining how to even do it. Ended up just having to go back to doing dozens of google searches to find out basic functionality. No information on how to actually automate the movement of the camera along the rail in the manual mode to a sequence. Pretty much the first thing any cinematographer is going to want to do with it.
Great video bro. Can I ask how did you make the car's head lights? I would love to learn how to do that as well. Any link or help would be great. Thanks
Would love to see more content about using unreal Engine for film and content creation. This camera rig feature was one of the things I was awaiting for from EPIC team to deliver and your video was really nice in illustration of how to use it. I saw in your bio that you have a background in flims and I believe this nich is really uncovered in youtube and has so little professional content despite that unreal now target hollywood studios and add features to make them use the software for film creation.
Adding music is one of those things that _feels_ good to do as a creator but at the end of the day you're probably better off not using music at all@@tiedtkeio
Nice video! In my case I have a problem. Do you know why when I save the sequence made with the "Cine Camera Rig Rail" the camera gets disconnected from the rig rail and the camera lost it's position. This it's giving me many problems. Thanks!
@AbdulRaheem-gn6or Until Unreal Engine supports complex modelling, you have to use a 3D engine of your choice to complete the entirety of the modeling pipeline. If you are straped for cash, Blender is the best choice. If you have more money than what you can count, Blender is also the best choice. If you are unsure, Blender is the best choice as well. Anyone who says Maya, C4D or 3ds Max are big geh.
Amazing man! I noticed you can make the spline component a loop but it doesn't complete the rail as a loop. Is there any way to make that work? Looking to make a more controllable orbit rail.
I have a question. I have the new RigRail and created a sequencer shot. I keyframed the speed at 5.0 which is very slow. But when I hit A+P (Game mode) it still runs fast. Why is this? This was really good can you perhaps do more tricks and setups with the RigRail. Thanks so much.
Really good tutorial. Not only straight to the point and short but super clear explanation on the workflows and possible use scenarios 10/10 Thank you!
Hi! Thanks for the detailed tutorial! Tho, I ran into a weird issue. I've updated my ue5 version to the latest (5.3.2) but the "CineCamera Rig Rail" feature is still not showing in my scene. Is there a way you know I could fix this? Thanks in advance!
So I was hoping you would demonstrate how to use the speed and duration funtions in the sequencer. I can get these going fine in viewport but I coulnd't seem to get anything other than the way you showed at the end to work.
Yes, I do realise I missed some important points in this video, one of those being what you mentioned. I'll add these missing points for tutorial topics to cover next. 😅
The clouds in the background is part of the HDRI image in the skydome. So it's just an image. Then on top of it I have the "Exponential Height Fog" with a fog density of 0,5. 🙂
Great tutorial! But the curved dolly track in real life uses a fixed radius, so you shouldn't make a random shape with that. What you are doing is more a steadycam movement, but then it's missing all the extra movements that you'll have with that kind of setup. Long story short, that's not how a dolly camera shot would look like in real life.
I only found out there a presets for certain shapes of the dolly track. Great stuff. But damn, i need these new features on my new project. I use reallusion iclone and not sure if they have 5.3 update. Gonna have to download this for my next project. Some great tips there. G
How come almost all of the settings have changed in such a short time. Most of the settings you're referring to are not present in my version of Unreal. Which I downloaded two weeks ago?
excellent thank you!! Im not sure im with you on trying to imitate real life when it comes to digital movie making, I mean the digital world is precisely here to achieve things we cannot in tradionnal movie making! Innovate!
Thank you so much! ☺ Yes, it of course comes down to a matter of taste and preference. For me it's about achieving the closest I can get to photo realism with CGI as if it had been done in real life, so that's why I try to use real world thinking and limitations. 😃

Select the spline point, hold alt, then drag the movement gizmo

Im still on 5.2 but this was very helpful. I was reluctant to use the Rail rig but man that is totally what I needed . Thanks for the info
Happy to hear that! Thanks for watching my video too! 🙏
Your lectures and knowledge are outstanding. Thanks for taking the time and effort! 🍻
It really makes my day to hear stuff like this! Thank you for watching my videos! ☺️🙌

So useful! thank you!
How do you enable the drive mode setting? Ive been looking for this and it does not show it anywhere.
You need to enable the camera rig plugin beta in the Plugins section.
I enabled all plugins, but in the engine version 5.4 there is NO “spline visualization”, WHERE did they hide it??? please help
If you can't find the cine camera rig rail, remember to enable it first in the plugins window then restart editor :D
man, you saved my day. Thank you!

Awesome CineCamera Rig tutorial! Thank you for sharing this : )
i used the rail for car animation but on the curves it shows very jittery fast movements on turns how can i smoothen that
This was such a good tutorial! Please do more
This makes me so happy to hear! Yes, there are lots more tutorials coming. 🙂🙏

Great tutorial, but I subscribed because of the trippy music in the background.
Thanks for the tutorial! Learned a lot. Only that sometimes your headshot blocked the parameters. Would be nice if you can lay out a bit differently.
Haha yeah I noticed that when watching my video later on. You live you learn I guess hehe. 😄👏

Thanks Michael! Actually the headlights are just a simple spotlight placed in the headlight mesh. It's not more advanced than that. 😅🙏
@@tiedtkeio For real? I have so mush to learn. Thank you. I'll try that. I thought it was hard to do that.
Once I'm starting to render the project Rigrail changing its own position, camera at this moment moving to 0.0.0 position...
Hi, I can see you have an option for Cine Camera Rig rail. I only have Camera Rig Rail, and all the settings are slightly different. Anyone else?

I have engine version 5.4, if you found a solution, please share.
(thanks)
So cool! Thanks for the great workflow breakdown with the new cine rails. :D
I'm happy to hear you liked the video! Thanks for watching! 😊
Great, thanks! 😊
Thank you for watching!!
Cool video, thank you, man.
Note: the background music was a bit loud.

how to use 5.2 version in cinecamera rig rail ?? it is same process ?
Yes, 90% same process ☺️🙏

can we add movement to the CineCamera Rig rail so that the cameras moves on the rig rail along with the movement to the CineCamera Rig rail
