Hello! Whitty Ballistic remixer here. Saw this in my recommendations. I loved this video! It was very informative and fun to watch. If I can explain about the charting; the charter I worked with, Kade Dev, (who also charted the original Whitty mod), pulled an all-nighter to chart my remix in one go. It was mainly so I could just have background footage in my remix video (which I didn't end up using anyways due to time constraints) Hopefully this explains why the chart itself is not perfect and gives you a little more insight on the remix mod as a whole!
The developers didn't even have the thought of the game going super popular, because they just made it for fun and Ludum Dare 47. You explained the ryhthm community very well!
Fun fact for those who read through the comments: when someone used a bot to FC this, this chart is gamebreaking because the points eventually stop working
As a person who recently got into rhythm games, your timing and rhythm is god tier. I can't imagine how much breaking your fingers and training your timing to get to this stage. Mad respect for you.

I don't know if I find it annoying in performances. For sure I know that pianists and violinists go all out on the drama, but a rock concert where all the guitarists, the bassist and singers stood completely still would be proper odd. Jazz drummers do some weird stuff too, but my first drum teacher was a classical percussionist, and she never had me doing any awkward faces and arm movements. Is it just something they train students in once they're on the road to becoming a professional?

@@beyondhaircraze4418 zardy retrospecter mod thingy is more of a “hit notes accurately” instead of “tapping at the speed of sound” so i wouldn’t actually consider it harder, same goes to expurgation, and shaggy mod is not as difficult if you compare both charts, one is jackspam absolute hell, while the other is 9 notes, but the charting itself is simple and not that hard.

this should be my last one, I don't think the game has much content left to offer that's interesting enough to me that isn't 'fnf but x mod'. Maybe I'll properly review it when it's fully released someday. I wanna play other games...

i think jacks (and especially minijacks) are really common in more "casual" rhythm games like FNF because of guitar hero, which may be the most successful western rhythm game of all time, bc the ability to strum makes them much less of a problem in that game so people just think that's how rhythm games should be charted that's my headcanon at least

Since you’re into rhythm games, I’d love to see you play rhythm doctor. It’s a 1-button rhythm-heaven-inspired game where the basic idea is you treat patients by defibrillating (tapping space) on the 7th beat. Sounds simple, but when they throw wacky variations, off beats, triplets, polyrhythms, distractions, and multiple rhythms to keep track of simultaneously, it quickly grows complicated. Combine that with some really cool visuals, good music ranging from calm guitar to dubstep, and a neat storyline, and I think it’s absolutely worth trying out. It’s currently on steam early access, and I’d love to see you check it out. BTW I’m not at all affiliated with the guys who make rhythm doctor, I just really want to see more popular English speaking TH-camrs play it.
I agree, it's just like you said, the devs just made a fun game not trying to make the most AMAZING, MARVELOUS, REVOLUTIONARY rhythm game. Its just a simple, functioning (to certain degree, still a wip so calm down people) game with a theorizeable story that makes for an engaging fandom. It's not trying to shatter expectations, it's just trying to be its own thing with it's own songs. Btw do try the Neo mod, it's has RWALLY good vibes #-#

as a mania player, i highly agree! some charts are so lame. you dont enjoy them anymore but you dont have a choice but to learn because it may be useful in the next maps and also to train your stamina.

I've tried this and it's a nightmare (for me). But I've tried a layout from Guitar/Clone Hero which uses the Shoulder and trigger buttons and it feels great. 👍
I'm new to rhythm games, so ig I'm one of those people who don't know any better. How is it not cheating? I thought the scroll speed was part of the difficulty but probably not.
@@strawberrykitten344 Because if u put speed to insanely low amount then u gonna fail for sure, they gonna be all crumped up. Less scroll speed = more arrows on screen at a time = Less chart readability. Most of the time its personal preference but if there is no option to set ur own scroll speed then person Who charts should find a good medium point according to how much inputs you would need to make

That's what I was thinking but I think they'll get into the rhythm game genre too like Osu and stuff since FNF is quite popular. But I'm quite worried since half of the fans sexualize most of the characters in FNF :/

I'm glad alot of people got fun out of fnf who aren't rhythm gamers and we're able to get excited over higher level mania play but.... This game just isn't a very good rhythm game but honestly it's good enough for people to have fun.
If this was 2013, I'd recommend Project Miriai DX as a good beginner game. The charts are super easy to read due to the notes falling on a track; unlike Project Diva which has them appear all over the screen. Come back Mirai...its been seven years... (Also, it released on my birthday, divine sign or what???)

Mashing the arrows and WASD on Ballistic literally makes it fun for me
The bad part is it makes my fingers literally hurt (primarily on my right hand)

@@dirky8180 It's hard to FOLLOW THE RHYTHM AND TIME NOTES TO THE BEAT IF IT'S 50,000 JACKS AND OTHER CRAP COMING AT LIGHTSPEED, you know. I'm not even sure HOW you can even hit those notes CONSISTENTLY and ON BEAT unless your finger speed is actually ridiculous.
