- A Masterclass with the actor, legend, human being and teacher NASEERUDDIN SHAH.
Celebrating 20th July, as the birthday of the legend, a humble gift from the NOMADS archive, 2017.
Conducted as part of the Film Appreciation course specially designed by mii for the final year batch of the National School of Drama students, hosted by FTII in 2017. It was gracious of Naseer sa'b to accept the invite.
Am glad we could make a record of the historic moment, in spite of the human challenges and bureaucratic hurdles involved. Mii gratitude to mii wonderful students Sandeep Yadav & Satyajeet Shobha Shriram for being a sport! Thanks are also due to the then Director Bhupendra Kainthola. I have tried to preserve the essence of the whole through the edit.
Collaborative acts often always have their rich rewards. We now have, what is- an invaluable archive of the moment, to be accessed many times over, for students and practitioners and all who care to learn anew every day of our life and work.

Neither am I an actor nor do I plan on becoming one in the near future. But this relates to me way beyond my imagination. It's probably not just an "acting masterclass", but rather a "life masterclass".

reminded of special once in lifetime opportunities to get trained by amazing people . In my school days we would sometime have a visiting person who would talk about something totally tangent to books and tests and as if school never existed. The lecture would have even the backbenchers in rapt attention. Loved those.
A lot of the current mainstream so called "stars" need to attend this
When i was in my teenage i dont know anything about acting and my parents are always talking good stuffs about naseeruddin shah when ever his movies comes on television so at that time i didnt understand but now i understand what a great talent indian cinema got sparsh,khandhar,katha,masoom,jaane bhi do yaaro some of my favourite movies❤❤❤❤

Naseer Sir’s Blunt honesty and being real is a rare in many actors . Even the thing he loves most he still hates lot of things about it . 😊

And thanks for the footnote on the next day session! It took quite an effort from all of us there :) The idea was to register the mark left on each NSD student for whom the class, was arranged in the first place.
He is not saying, but imparting education to theatre lovers in his own inimitable and interactive way. Brilliant!

Whenever he says something I listen with fascination ❤ I got a chance to meet Naseer Sahab only once at Ahmed Khan Sahab's birthday party in Bhayandar flat in Mumbai. In those days, we all were the next door neighbors of Khan sahib. Charu and I sang songs that night.
Apart from this, we met many times in Delhi, sometimes in NSD and sometimes in Shriram Center, but never got a chance to talk🙏

I have had the pleasurer of assisting Prof. Roshan Taneja (mentioned by Naseer sir) from 2002 to 2019 (Prof. Taneja passed away in 2019). and I can completely understand what he is trying to explain. In fact i have attended Naseer sirs session as well.
