I had the privilege to visit Barvas Church and the Isle of Lewis just 2 weeks ago and the history of the Lewis revival fascinates me. May revival visit our lands and the Lord Jesus Christ be glorified. I'm so glad to be saved, be redeemed and assured of a home in Heaven. Come to Christ sinner, ask him into your heart to forgive your sins, it will be the best thing you have ever done.
I was there last year too!!! When were you there? I went just for a day-June 23, 2022. My awesome taxi driver said she knew the pastor and wife of the church where revival was so she took me there, however, they were away for the day and I didn't get to go in! But it was so cool to be there and see...
I read the book „Sounds from Heaven“ and ever since, I so want to visit the Hebrides. The presence of the Lord must have been so amazing and strong. It is rare these days to experience that presence. I so long for those days again.

Thirty years ago, my late husband and I went to Benbecula where one of our sons was stationed in the RAF. IHis younger son had just been born in Stornaway. had read in a travel pamphlet that David Livingstone`s "breeches" Bible was kept in one of the churches on Lewis. The lady who ran the B and B said she would try and borrow it for us, we were only there for one night. She was unable to do so, but was able to borrow David Livingstone`s prayer book, given to him by his Godmother. David Livingstone had been my hero, and I studied his life for Empire History at my school. It/ was amazing to hold this book.

Dear Dafydd This dear Mary has also encouraged me too. I did some research and found that she has died in 2010 and her dear husband Colin in 2009. Together they preached many messages on revival and Colin was principal of the Faith Mission Bible College in Edinburgh for about 17 yrs. Praise the Lord. May He receive all glory as He is stirring up the hearts of men and women and boys and girls to follow Him. Let us do the same and tell His glorious gospel message.

I listen to Mary’s testimony ,no more than a testimony several years ago and was greatly move. When we gather in the presence of those that God rest upon and listen to their word concerning His person you can’t help but too pause and push all else aside in order too take it in. You would not say that the demons who believe and tremble are converted, this I already know. But is there biblical clarity on that concept. I appreciate your example of the prodigal son, are you saying that he was "converted" when he was away from his father, but not saved until he returned home?

Six years ago, this video was uploaded when her message was given. I don’t know. I’m assuming 2018.. Today is 2024. And some of the comments have been made years ago and yet today in 2024 there is such a great need for revival. The churches are dead and our entertainment centres playing trivia pursuit instead of prayer meetings. I can identify with what sister Mary said about entering into the church and they got the Music playing over the speakers like you’re in a rock concert. And this is coming from a former heavy metal head in my sinner days! Where is the peace and quiet and reverence and fear of God in the churches and the Pentecostal church that I attend? It’s gone. Where are the hymnals? Where is the old songs from the early churches of revival? They have been replaced with psychological try to pick me up and make me feel good songs. Hardly any scripture hardly any mention of heaven. Try to find the songs that are sung today in the churches that talk about Heaven. 1% do. The churches are so seeker sensitive so as not to lose any congregation member because it’s all about filling those seats. It’s all about gaining their tithes and offerings from Mr. and Mrs. Moneybags. Meanwhile, that is Old Testament, giving that is not encouraged in the New Testament at all. Oh, where are the Marys of today? Who could quote hundreds of scriptures from their heart because of their love for the word of God. I remember when I was saved 38 years ago attending an old-fashioned Pentecostal church and got baptized in water there, there was a man named Brother Beam. And when he prayed, he would be quoting all the scriptures from his heart and as a new convert coming out from the drug culture, partying and drinking doing drugs, the Holy Spirit got a hold of me through his prayers through him, talking to me and changed me so that I was memorizing scriptures like he did and following His example by imitating his life of Bible study and Scripture memorization .

Early Church decided to honour the day of the Lord of Sunday. It is a spiritual principle of Sabbath that is important, not the technical day itself. We are under the New Covenant, not the legalistic aspects of the Old.

As a fellow Scot who knows the Hebridean people, I can tell you that they are most certainly not given to a show or outbursts of emotion and she was most definitely NOT ‘playing to the audience.’ Rather, to the best of her ability she was trying to convey to you how she was feeling in the hope you might see and hear and feel and know the conviction of the Holy Spirit upon a soul. What a pity JaSco that you missed it all.
I think she meant her testimony would focus on lifting up the Lord. She grew up speaking Gaelic, so why would it bother you if she sang in Gaelic? I found her humble and giving God the glory.

I had the privilege to visit Barvas Church and the Isle of Lewis just 2 weeks ago and the history of the Lewis revival fascinates me. May revival visit our lands and the Lord Jesus Christ be glorified. I'm so glad to be saved, be redeemed and assured of a home in Heaven. I was there last year too!!! When were you there? I went just for a day-June 23, 2022. My awesome taxi driver said she knew the pastor and wife of the church where revival was so she took me there, however, they were away for the day and I didn't get to go in! But it was so cool to be there and see...

The most powerful testimony I have ever heard in my 40+ yrs. as a Christian. Never heard of the Hebrides Revival and Donald Trumps connection, thru the Isle of Lewis, until now. God had a plan to make this man the President of the most powerful nation in the world. Thirty years ago, my late husband and I went to Benbecula where one of our sons was stationed in the RAF. IHis younger son had just been born in Stornaway. had read in a travel pamphlet that David Livingstone`s "breeches" Bible was kept in one of the churches on Lewis. The lady who ran the B and B said she would try and borrow it for us, we were only there for one night. She was unable to do so, but was able to borrow David Livingstone`s prayer book, given to him by his Godmother. David Livingstone had been my hero, and I studied his life for Empire History at my school. It/ was amazing to hold this book.

This dear Mary has also encouraged me too. I did some research and found that she has died in 2010 and her dear husband Colin in 2009. Together they preached many messages on revival and Colin was principal of the Faith Mission Bible College in Edinburgh for about 17 yrs. Praise the Lord. Six years ago, this video was uploaded when her message was given. I don’t know. I’m assuming 2018.. Today is 2024. And some of the comments have been made years ago and yet today in 2024 there is such a great need for revival. The churches are dead and our entertainment centres playing trivia pursuit instead of prayer meetings. I can identify with what sister Mary said about entering into the church and they got the Music playing over the speakers like you’re in a rock concert.

Where is the peace and quiet and reverence and fear of God in the churches and the Pentecostal church that I attend? It’s gone.
Where are the hymnals? Where is the old songs from the early churches of revival? They have been replaced with psychological try to pick me up and make me feel good songs.
Hardly any scripture hardly any mention of heaven. Try to find the songs that are sung today in the churches that talk about Heaven.

I remember when I was saved 38 years ago attending an old-fashioned Pentecostal church and got baptized in water there, there was a man named Brother Beam. And when he prayed, he would be quoting all the scriptures from his heart and as a new convert coming out from the drug culture, partying and drinking doing drugs, the Holy Spirit got a hold of me through his prayers through him, talking to me and changed me so that I was memorizing scriptures like he did and following His example by imitating his life of Bible study and Scripture memorization .
We couldn't see the extent of "IT IS FINISHED" the earth quaked the rock split at the foot of the Cross, Yeshus's blood was released by the Roman soldier who pierced his side. People who have never learned the scripture do not and cannot quote the scripture. Her ability to quote clearly and accurately lend to her authenticity. That scripture also tends to keep the christian on track in their thought process or preachers: on track, in their preaching and teaching.

Early Church decided to honour the day of the Lord of Sunday. It is a spiritual principle of Sabbath that is important, not the technical day itself. We are under the New Covenant, not the legalistic aspects of the Old.

Man makes religion we follow the Bible with no twist on it! Don’t add to the Bible with rules just study the Bible the Holy Spirit leads HIS children. Religion cannot save anyone we must be born again (John 3:3). Religion many times taking God’s word out of it’s context follow the Bible 66 books written with one message JESUS CHRIST IS LORD ! HE WILL RETURN! NOT for religion for HIS children!

Why say "you're not going to hear my testimony"..........and then go on to talk about yourself, demonstrate your memory-verse abilities, and sing in Gaelic?? Remember.."5 words with the understanding". Too much human emotion, playing to the audience. Rest in peace.

As a fellow Scot who knows the Hebridean people, I can tell you that they are most certainly not given to a show or outbursts of emotion and she was most definitely NOT ‘playing to the audience.’ Rather, to the best of her ability she was trying to convey to you how she was feeling in the hope you might see and hear and feel and know the conviction of the Holy Spirit upon a soul. What a pity JaSco that you missed it all.
I think she meant her testimony would focus on lifting up the Lord. She grew up speaking Gaelic, so why would it bother you if she sang in Gaelic? I found her humble and giving God the glory.
I think you can learn a lot from her.
