I’d save that old axle and just replace the outer joint. Toyota sells them separately. Would have the new threads
Good option too! These days the whole part is often cheaper than the partial replacement when labor is factored in, but thanks for reminding us there are other ways!
Thank you. My sister got crashed, insurance soesnt wanna pay because shes an uber driver.
hope she is able to get fixed up with your help
You notice how the new axle doesnt have the bearing in the middle? Any difference in rife comfort or road harmonics on the new model?
no noticeable difference.
I noticed that also. Seems odd to me . The replacement part should be the same. Not having that support in the middle of the assembly is important .
@@rayRay-pw6gz That is not important and not required on the aftermarket versions. That counter weight bearing is only on the OEM version.
Does the camry hybrid have same axle or its different shape for hybrids ?
Sorry they are different, but similar process
@@joyofwrenching I have 2021 Avalon XLE Hybrid 2.5L engine E-CVT. Driver side Axle is worn out at 103k miles clicking noise, I tried to look for Videos of Camry Hybrids being worked on CV Axle replacement since Camry Hybrid has same Engine.
Is it the same process for the right front side passenger?
yeah, they are the same, sometimes the pass side axle has a carrier bearing in the middle that needs to be unbolted, but same process otherwise.
How much its this job normally on the camry?
I suspect the cost of this job would be whatever the cv axle costs plus a few hundred bucks
What brand is the axle that was installed?
This might have been from RockAuto, so GSP?
