The artificial leaf that's turning sunlight into fuel...

It's something we're taught in elementary school biology: plants use sunlight and water to turn carbon dioxide into food, in a process called photosynthesis. But now scientists at Cambridge University are replicating this process using light absorbers and specially-designed catalysts to produce a carbon neutral alternative to petrol called Syngas. Shini Somara reports.

what is the toxiciticy of the materials and how much leeches into the water during the transition ( what is the binding material is it Cobalt still? or gallium you have a low heat transition metal ) you are using some rare elements... you are focusing on small elements and rare elements ... issue is controlled heat issues plus the other issues hit ( storage of gasses ) storage and leeching of toxic elements into the 1% of the drinkable water on earth
