Last time I went to a stylist I was paying $100 for a silk press circa 2018. The game has changed and a lot of people don’t go to the salon as often so stylists still have to get paid in order to manage expenses. Unfortunately she retired so I maintain my hair at home since I was once a licensed master cosmetologist. The service I do pay for is $80 for a pedicure but the experience is worth it. I pay her for what I can’t do as well 😂 so yes people will pay for what they value ❤ I’m just thankful I have some skills because I couldn’t afford to pay for hair and nails.

You did a beautiful job. I wonder why stylist don’t do roller sets that often? Yes they take longer but last longer. A blowout doesn’t last but 4-5 days, and with sweat and humidity even less.

Hey if you sweat really bad you can try an anti humidity spray but honest I recommend not getting a press if you know your hair is going to sweat too much at the roots because unless you get a relaxer it will revert back.

220 dollars for a silk press and a trim? Damn that’s a trim and coloring ur hair in my country. So I think it’s ok, I’m German with thick straight hair so I don’t know how much that would cost. But sounds normal to me bc that’s the same as coloring ur hair with olaplex treatment where I come from.

Where did the term dead ends even come from? Here ends aren’t anymore dead than the rest of her hair. Hair never grows to an even length anyway. It will ALWAYS taper and thin at the ends, it’s natural and normal.

@@CassandraOlivia I think I know what you mean…ends that are thinned out because of hair breakage. But just saying thinned out ends is not always due to breakage. It’s just the way hair grows at different lengths on a round head. It‘s natural.
