Your teacher must be extremely proud of you!!😁 That right thaar is perfection. You're naturally born to do hair, along with anything thing else you love to do. Good job sista!
In beauty school, we used the old style curling iron. My black instructor used me as an example for doing such a great job. She was wonderful and taught me that black hair is finer and should be treated as such. Excellent teaching. The only reason I mentioned color is because I am white and caught on better.
I can still smell the burning over 50 years later. Me sat in the kitchen with the hot combs on the gas hob flames and the super tub of Vaseline nearby. Even though it was traumatic every Sunday it was part of a few magical childhood memories ❤
This is so helpful. I have grey hair like your client. Thank you for all of the wonderful product tips because I have been doing my own hair now for the past year and a half.
I love how you actually take the time to TEACH the WHY’S! It’s fascinating watching you show your skills, and greatly appreciated that you share your knowledge. ❤
Everything about how she does hair is so informative and to the point. You can tell she loves what she does and she does it well. The part where her Dad messages to like and describe was so heartwarming it brought tears to my eyes. He's so Proud of His I'm gonna say Little Girl.

I just stumbled upon this video and can’t believe I watched over an hour long video. I was so invested, I feel like it flew right by! You’re an amazing stylist! So down to earth and truly care about making your clients happy. Thanks for teaching us as you work. I learned a lot in this video and I Loved the looks on their faces when they saw their finished reveal. You’re truly Awesome!♥️👏
Just love when you have a stylist that cares and puts her caring affection into her job. Just ❤ it. The best part is you don't have to sit there all day.😊
I love how you take time to explain to your customers and let them know exactly what you are doing. The best part is that you don't take all day 😮 WOW!!❤❤❤
Awesome work.! You did an amazing job on her hair. I'm a 68yr.old woman with hair texture, length, and gray hair that's very similar to hers. I've only been to a salon a couple of times in my entire life, and never went to another one again because I was so dissatisfied with the outcome. I wish that I was to travel to where you are just so that I could make an appointment for you to do my hair. I'm serious! Great job!
Hi Cristal this is what I like about you you are so honest about what you do how you do it what products you use and you keep it so professional that's why whatever you do with your clients hair you always do a fantastic job.
I stumbled across your video by accident and before I knew it, I was totally engrossed! You do such wonderful work! I actually teared up when I saw your client’s reaction to seeing her finished style for the first time. Her face said it all..a big, confident smile that just lit up her entire face! It’s clear to see how beautiful and confident you made her feel. It truly warmed my heart. She was absolutely radiant! I used to be an esthetician, and I used to love seeing that joy on my client’s faces when I had the privilege of making them feel so beautiful, so confident..it’s such a great feeling. I love making people feel good about themselves. You’re doing such a great service to your clients. You’re so knowledgeable and your love for your work and your clients shines through in your videos! I will definitely be watching your videos from now on!
Ms Crystal, looking at you press and flat iron your client’s hair puts me in a ‘state of relaxation.’ Her hair is so pretty and silky and the gray is gorgeous! I’m looking at this 2 month old video and enjoying every minute of it.
I admire the work those of you who work on this type of hair, as it seems to take extra care to be managed well. I consider you all extremely talented ❤
Beautiful silver hair. My Mom's hair is similar with more white. She still press her own hair at age 86. She air drys her hair. I might get her one of your pressing combs.
Omg, I am speechless and mama knows she looks good🥰 I'm grateful for this video, soooo much education and tips on natural hair...I might have to hop on an airplane and make a trip to Florida...if I can get a appointment😝😘🥰 Thank you for your skill set and dedication to hair and haircare!! God bless my cousin who sent me this link😘
I’m just watching your video on a Silk press. Awesome job by the way!!! You’re a great teacher and I loved how you answered questions and kept it moving. You said you weren’t going to always be a Hairdresser, do you have a dream to do something different? You are so talented!!! I’m old school and love the press out but I thought it was all about the grease and a lot of it to retain the look. Now I know that MOT to be true!🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 Thank you so much for blessing us, with your gift, talent and skills. God Bless.
My mother was a hairdresser back in the day before and after perms came in to fashion. She use to put the pressing comb on the stove to heat up and she told me that it's not the teeth (as in the comb) that presses the hair it was in fact the back of the comb. She was known for styling and press and curl (again the curler was put on the stove) and the pressing would last for 3 to 4 weeks. Also she did not put any hair oil on the hair whilst pressing it but would put the curler into the Dax hair oil in the red traditional tin and once the hair was curled would greese the scalp prior to styling. The end product was so shiny and silky.
I'm a senior hairstylist and I all so work for 3 decades, and wen I see good hairstylists I fill proud, she's a fantastic hairstylist, beautiful job, love from UK
Thank you. I do my own hair. Thank God I have learned to use some of the same techniques you are using. My hair is over my shoulders. I have used different oil to grow my hair. 😊

NICE LENGTH, HEALTHY, CLIP MY OWN ENDS WHEN NEEDED, CONDITION, ETC...IT WORKS FOR MY HAIR, I KEEP IT EAR LENGTH, ONCE MY HAIR IS WASHED, CONDITIONED, AIR DRIED, ..I HOT COMB (ON STOVE)...WRAP IN SATIN SCARF...IT LAST UNTIL NEXT MONTH!

Hi I’ve watched a few of your videos. I’m from Australia. I’m a natural blonde. Just want to say, I think you do a wonderful job on the ladies hair. You treat their hair with great respect. You seem like a beautiful lady, inside and out. Loving your style. Gday from Australia 🇦🇺 ❤

And you explain well, you take your time keep up the good work may God bless you🙏 Thanks dad for reminding me to hit the like button❤️
I used the pre treatment on my client because she had a ton of product build up due to edge control, gel, etc. she loved the way it smelt and i like that it really cleaned her hair along with the shampoo and conditioner and leave in conditioner
I am 73 and white. At 7 yrs old I watched hair being done with hot😅 irons heated on a wood stove with oil. I felt so sorry and was amazed. Times have changed. I loved her hair. You are very talented. God blessed you real good!
My Grandmother was a very good Beautician! When she pressed your hair, it stayed straight a very long time. She had a very large clientele because everyone always wanted her to do their hair. She used Apex Pressing Oil, and it pretty much had your hair waterproof!❤😂❤😂
It’s 4.20pm and I’m new to your video. You’re doing an awesome job. What I find hard is knowing how to hold the comb while you’re pressing it. Can you demonstrate it please?
Her hair looks nice and healthy, that’s all we got as children, My mom knew her work, she washed our hair, and their was no such thing as heat damage, our hair reverted all the time. You explain yourself so well. I’m still watching.
Hello my name is sherry from Delray.Bch fla will you someday do a client with course course hair, also if i wanted semi color on it with the silk press would you recommend it
Exactly. That was NO a common thing where you had heat damage. What it is is all these new products that are put on the hair so much that either when it gets into contact with heat like that from a metal object it causes a bad reaction or the product by itself would make the hair looser and limp, esp if that is what it was to do(curler, smoother, silkener, moisturizer, etc). Sooo many products are being used much more today than in the past. I use about 3 products on my head now. Been doing eps since Covid.
@@marlak4203 Good point! I also think it has something to do with the flat iron as well. You are essentially crushing the strands between 2 hot plates. That crushing action doesn't take place with a hot comb.
@@cfoster6804 I remember Afrikan Hair God has did a videos some years back and he mentioned something like that. But I think flat irons have been around since the 90's or so? And he said it could be "certain" kind of flat irons. Cermaic vs Tourmaline(sp). Something like that. If anything you'd think the hot comb we used would cause all of this quicker too because its a comb which gets into the strands of hair more thorough than the flat iron. But it used to take some time before that "damage" would appear. Not after 1 use. I really do believe its these high chemical products. I have had all kinds of flat irons ($140 CHI, $30 Red, Hot tools and Babybliss). And let's not forget how we also had the stove barrel curlers. However I don't straighten my hair a lot. Like 1 or 2xs a year. But i also use more natural stuff on my hair. 'Cept when straightening it.
Hair care is very important. It’s just not about styling the hair. It’s about caring for the hair. I’ve learned a lot from this video. Thank you so much.❤
I could just watch this all day Long. I love watching women of color getting their hair done. It intrigues me and it always comes out so pretty. Y'all are beautiful. I'm freaking Casper. I could glow. Wish I could get a tan of some kind. Y'all are just naturally beautiful. I have to pay to be colored and y'all have them natural curves everyone dies for. The hair is just the icing on the cake. I just think y'all are so beautiful!!!God made beauty when he made women of color.
@@silvershoes9724 I'm feeling your pain. I'm getting older so I had to stop going to the tanning salons. I been trying to find a good spray tan that doesn't make me orange. Of course it messes up all my undergarments. It's a nightmare. I hate being so white. It sucks
Just wanted to say that I learned sooooo much about hair , cutting it , the head being shaped like an orange, how to reduce heat damage , by watching this one video!!!!!! That is amazing!!! You are EXTREMELY talented !!!!!!!!
I just love watching you do hair and giving us knowledge on how to maintain our hair I just started getting my hair silk press for the second time each time I get it done it only lasts for three days it’s beautiful when I get it done but it doesn’t last for me I just don’t know what to do when my hair hits the humidity and all the beautiful work that my hairstylist does it’s very disappointing. My family loves the way it looks when I come home They tell me not to give up on the fresh, so but I just don’t know what to do.
Lol you hit it on the head about stylist taking all day. That’s why I went natural to avoid being put under the dryer for 50hrs because the stylist is behind and I’m “still not dry” 😑🙄😵💫🤯

Beautiful job.My Mom used to press our hair(me and my sister) on Saturdays, our hair would last for two weeks .That Blue Magic hair grease and a hot comb would be smoking. She pressed my hair last week and I loved it.
@@rachelderenoncourt3881 , it would last because it would be bone straight, when she pressed our hair. She should have been in business because she could do a great pressing job.
Started doing my hair myself due to having a fine texture like her's. I felt bad hearing, "ooohh you got my grandma's hair!!" when I was in my 20's with super fine and soft hair- had nerve to relax it! . I did a wash and go for about 6 yrs and kept it curly. Woke up last week and found all my tools and blew it out. Next is a trim. Hoping it grows back .
I’m gray too but I’ve stopped going to the salon getting silk presses only to end with smoke coming from the iron no matter how many times I say it’s too hot. I do my own at home now and my hair is healthier. Too bad you’re not in California! Thanks for the video!

Nice work .Beautiful Job.
Your time frame for doing this lady‘s hair only shows that you are good at what you do plus you are professional with experience.
That's Beautiful her hair is Silver !!
Her hair is so pretty. I'm growing out my gray after years of coloring and I hope it turns out this pretty!
I like how you do your client's hair. You're so passionate about your skill set, awesome.
I ❤️ her initial reaction to seeing the finished product. I had to subscribe after that. Excellent job!!!
The shine on her hair is amazing.
Balding in certain areas what can I do
In beauty school, we used the old style curling iron. My black instructor used me as an example for doing such a great job. She was wonderful and taught me that black hair is finer and should be treated as such. Excellent teaching. The only reason I mentioned color is because I am white and caught on better.
I still use my hot comb
👍🏽so good to know stuff about each other❤️💥
I'm mixed. I'm pale as paper but have black hair! I wish more salons knew what to do with us.
I’m also white, not a hairdresser and I am enjoying watching this! Enjoyable!
@@deborahmckinney808 me too. I am a Brit, and could watch her all day.
She has such BEAUTIFUL HAIR!! I needed 2 watch this so I know what's being done 2 my hair. I think that's so important too.
You are gifted and one of the best stylists/teachers on TH-cam. Praying for your continued success 👏🏽🙌🏽🙏🏼💕
I can still smell the burning over 50 years later. Me sat in the kitchen with the hot combs on the gas hob flames and the super tub of Vaseline nearby. Even though it was traumatic every Sunday it was part of a few magical childhood memories ❤
Not only do you care about time, you can tell you absolutely care about hair. I can't stand a stylist whom only care about money. Brilliant job
I agree, I started doing my own hair because I came across so many
" beauticians" that only cared about the money and not maintaining the hair!
Amaizing !
This is so helpful. I have grey hair like your client. Thank you for all of the wonderful product tips because I have been doing my own hair now for the past year and a half.
I agree! I'm mixed and following her tips and processes are way better than going to a stylist!

Both ladies look beautiful and gorgeous. You are amazing 😊😊
Thanks, enjoyed the lesson on hair care
Adela good morning. Ellite We're I can fine a good hair press

The first gray hairstyle is super classy! Great job!

😊
My Granny used to press my hair with the hot comb on the stove and it would look like I had a relaxer when I was a young girl. It lasted forever 😂
ANECIA WATSON...I STILL USE A HOT COMB...FOR YEARS NOW!...I DON'T DO PERMS, WIGS, WEAVES, EXTENTIONS, ETC...YOU'RE RIGHT, MY HAIR IS SOFT, BUT IT WORKS FOR MY HAIR!....
Mine was a cosmetologist too. Yesssss indeed, it looked like a relaxer and lasted until it was time to shampoo again.
Mine too. I'm thinking about going back to it.
same here with my mom.
Same here
I love watching you do hair! it is such an art form that is so underestimated, and very important to most humans. You do beautiful work.
Yesss, the days of staying at the salon all-day are over when you're a selective client. You've got better things to do with the rest of your day! ☺️ Absolutely beautiful short cut too!!🧡

Thanks dad for reminding me to hit the like button❤️
It's a pleasure watching you work. You're so skilled.
Youre a magician with hair. Have you ever worked on any other nationality hair.
Right, home girl definitely understood the assignment 🥰
Are you in Columbia. Wistful thinking. You have great techniques. 👍
The burgundy color and cut looks so cute! What a pretty lady! The silver hair is beautiful love her smooth and shiny texture!
My Grandmother was a very good Beautician! When she pressed your hair, it stayed straight a very long time. She had a very large clientele because everyone always wanted her to do their hair. She used Apex Pressing Oil, and it pretty much had your hair waterproof!❤😂❤😂
That's the hair grease my mom used on our hair. 😊
Yes apex is great. They discounted it doesn't anyone know anything like it or a dupe for Apex Pressing Oil?
Does it still have a lot of body and movement with the pressing oil?

It’s 4.20pm and I’m new to your video. You’re doing an awesome job. What I find hard is knowing how to hold the comb while you’re pressing it. Can you demonstrate it please?
Her hair looks nice and healthy, that’s all we got as children, My mom knew her work, she washed our hair, and their was no such thing as heat damage, our hair reverted all the time. You explain yourself so well. I’m still watching.
Hello my name is sherry from Delray.Bch fla will you someday do a client with course course hair, also if i wanted semi color on it with the silk press would you recommend it
Great job on grey hair.Doing hair almost 40yrs and I get great tips from you!,Good teacher..
@@cfoster6804
I remember Afrikan Hair God has did a videos some years back and he mentioned something like that.
So refreshing to see clients so calm and appreciative of your talents. Beautiful.
Beautiful
I love your show
Hair care is very important. It’s just not about styling the hair. It’s about caring for the hair. I’ve learned a lot from this video. Thank you so much.❤

It sucks
Aww you can tell she treats her clients good. When Ms. Inez said “that’s my girl” I felt that🥲
Just wanted to say that I learned sooooo much about hair , cutting it , the head being shaped like an orange, how to reduce heat damage , by watching this one video!!!!!!
Wonderful, she looks amazing!! Great job Ms.Crystal!!
Kudos to you for concentrating on your client’s hair, and not talking on your cell phone silmutaneously!
Lol you hit it on the head about stylist taking all day. That’s why I went natural to avoid being put under the dryer for 50hrs because the stylist is behind and I’m “still not dry” 😑🙄😵💫🤯
She would go from head to head and I was there for hours that was not necessary. I made the huge mistake of telling her to cut my hair off to a snap.
You are God blessed for lady my mom used to press my hair but you can feel the heat on your scalp but you are doing a wonderful job and I praise God for you how are your children doing well I hope and yourself.
