Hp Dv5 DV5 2077cl 2035dx 14.5" laptop dis assembly remove motherboard/hard drive/cooling fan etc (this is the hp pavilion dv5 with the 14.5' screen not the common ones with the 15.4")
note: mine didn't have the hard drive bracket but i did remove the screws there.
i pushed a toothpick in screwhole M2.5x4 under the battery to help start to loosen keyboard. after removing the screws holding keyboard.

I feel like an idiot, i managed to take it apart to clean the fan without removing the keyboard from the top, and have for days been trying to get the power button cable in place by using anything including Popsicle sticks, thought there must be a trick to it, and found your video, ya so much easier with the keyboard out of the way. Thanks so much for taking the time to post this.

Ótimo vídeo! Conseguir realizar a troca da pasta térmica que já tinha perdido completamente o efeito, está seca completamente seca. Laptop de 2010. Já tinha passaso da hora de trocar a pasta térmica.

if I have two dv5-1040's and one of them has a faulty mainboard (no switchin on without hairdryer warming applied due to cold welds), can I simply take the working one from another computer with its processor, network card, graphic processor etc., and replace the faulty one? will there be any key conflict to start Windows normally after the switch?
