That was Great!!! Thank you for pointing out the difference between what a builder would want out of the detail on cabinet door construction. But certainly these tips will accelerate our understanding of the software.
Excellent advice Aaron on "level of detail required". Very efficient modelling by the way. Fewer steps, fewer errors. Would love to see a "full detail example" such an actual cabinet maker would use for a set of plans. (if you get a chance).
Great video Aaron, would it be possible for you to maybe create a video on how to do a dynamic cabinet door where by changing the width or height stays proportional. Thank you.
I'm relieved to know that I am using the exact same process for cabinet doors. However, It's worth noting that your last method will create an issue when it comes time to adding texture. I have been a long time woodworker and now produce engineered drawings and renders. I have had to adapt my workflow so that stiles and rails are separate groups so materials can be oriented correctly with the grain. And inside moulding profiles I do as attachments using the same follow-me workflow you demonstrated. For 2D line drawings though, this method is proven on a daily basis for me.
You are modeling as a programmer. Open "Outliner" and use the component tree to your benefit. Using Group is counter productive, production wise. Components are the wise method. Again in "Outliner" making the second copy unique wipes out reason for the group. It also allows the non-modified geometry to be used to make the carcase and drawer assemblies to remain valid. As a checker of your model, you would get it kicked back in a heart beat.
Great that thanks. Can you do a dynamic range one for kitchen cabinets sometime please so I model cabinets quite a lot and it's very time consuming 😁 🤙🏻
Wow I like how you show both easy and a more detailed/ speedier way.
Thank you for doing these videos, I think most people would be totally screwed without them.

the “follow me” tool kinda blew my mind, thanks!
Thanks for adding the keyboard shortcut tips - really helpful. I always forget about LOD

Thanks, Aaron. Very practical and useful.
thanks man that was nice look for more learing video more power....
What computer, monitor do you use for sketchup?
Aaron records most of his videos using a 2019 Macbook Pro.
Brilliant,
Thanks for this
Hi please make a tutorial on ABF solution plugin
