Liam Currans was a fantastic skilful player for Offaly in both hurling and football and scored fantastic points in both the all ireland finals of 81 and 82.

Michael O'Hehir we miss you so much. You added so much to the excitement and drama to the big day. Nowadays? Canning was bad enough. Compare this commentary with Canning's of Offaly's amazing win in 1994. But with Marty Morrisey we have hit the bottom of the barrel. In all fairness though, his mother enjoys his commentary though she has been hard of hearing for a good few years now.

I think Johnny Flaherty was abroad in the states and returned and ended up winning an all Ireland in the twilight of his career. V quick thinking, never forget that goal, in the net like a light. R.I.P Mr Flaherty

Galway were robbed.Johnny Flaherty threw the sliothar into the Galway goal.
They were robbed again in 85 when PJ Molloy put the ball over the Offaly goal line but it wasn't seen by the umpire. No hawk eye in those days.

@@shredder9536 Yes Flaherty clearly hand passed the ball to the net. A legitimate goal.

      Get over it
You're starting to sound like Mayo in the football. Be thankful the ref blew up early in the 1980 semi when ye were hanging on.
