I remember my parents calling me downstairs when this was broadcasted on Dutch television. "Hey isn't that the girl from that band you like?" I remember tearing up when Floor was crying. She's from my province (only 30 minutes up the road from my hometown) and you can kind of hear that when she speaks Dutch. She really has a bit of an accent but within that she also embodies everything I love about my people and my province: kind, humble, hardworking and good-natured.
Watching this back again is wonderful. I’ve never felt a connection with anyone ‘famous’ until Floor came along. As much as it’s possible I absolutely love and adore this beautiful lady even though I don’t know her personally. It’s crazy I know
Absolutely the same. I listened to early Nightwish for several years but in covid lockdowns started watching reaction vids on YT and discovered Floor. She reinvigorated my love of Nightwish.
Her humility is breathtaking. So wonderful to see an incredible performer that doesn't think they own the world ... even if they might. My love for her is deep and has as much to do with who she is, as how wonderful she sings. She is precious to this world.
I live in America and really love listening to Nightwish especially when Floor Jansen is performing. She completes the band and draws crowds all around.
omg my awe of Floor just got even more intense seeing this. She is absolutely irresistible as the singer & person she is. I commented on the GLS (Nuclear Blast Records post) about how so captivating Floor is to watch as a performer & that performance at Wacken, such power, beauty & out of this world musicianship from all band members, but I have never seen such a breathtaking & powerul stage presence as Floor has. So to see her so beautifully emotional about her journey, the surreal experience she mentioned about playing at Tampere, how the band members are like brothers, even how humble, reserved & polite she was when that older lady was complimenting fact she is best singer Nightwish had, which i am sure deep inside must frustrate her all this comparison. Long may she have happiness, respect & love in all she is doing..I am not some besotted fanboy (other comment at gls vid writes why i am in awe) just i appreciate supreme talent when see, the kind that gives u a lump in ur throat & hairs stand on end. I’m becoming a big Floor fan! I originally thought Nightwish had died when Tarja left because Annette was a very poor replacement, but this sexy Dutch goddess has revitalised Nightwish with her vocal style and range - she fits this band perfectly!! Best possible replacement for one that was irreplaceable!!
What a wonderful interview!… it’s so easy to see how special Floor really is and I would say a lot of her personality and how she presents herself comes from her parents!! When she broke down and cried it was so evident that she is a emotional and caring person as she thanked the interviewer for doing such a great job! I'm a Finn living in Sweden and here are, and have been for a long time, artists that are huge abroad but are largely unknown in their home country. I must say, good for them.
Metal isn't a very popular genre in the Netherlands, so her music isn't broadcast here as widely as for example more fcking Despacito, even though, as a Dutch guy, I absolutely adored metal before Floor Jansen came into my life. Beste Zangers made me realize that "metal", "rock", "pop", all these "genres", they're all tools personal to individual people, but can convey any message in their own unique way. Metal speaks to me because of the extremity in which emotions are expressed. Also, because of its obscurity in the Netherlands, it's not overly commercialized on the radio and you don't grow sick of it due to overexposure (unless you overexpose yourself, of course lmao). Floor is but one of many metal artists that use these powerful instruments and deliver such deeply resonant melodies, but she is definitely one of the most unique. I'm super glad I know about her now, because she deserves the fame, for being the humble, kind and sensitive human being she is.

It's really cool to see what happened before this show! I've really enjoyed seeing videos of this very show.. They performed beautifully! My wife and I got to see them a few years ago in Las Vegas. We really had a good time and enjoyed the show there!

I speak several european languages but dutch is very different. I understand and can speak some finnish so it can't be impossible to learn this either.
It's not an easy language, because there are many exceptions and "strong" verbs, which means a vowel change in the past tense. And we have a lot of idioms and weird expressions, which can seem like just a random sequence of words to foreigners. But similar to English (and opposite to Finnish), the basics are relatively easy, but to really master the language is a steep learning curve. Good luck anyway if you're going for it! ;)

Actually Finnish has a lot of grammar rules and very few exceptions (except colloquially). But the overload of rules can often make it seem like there are exceptions all over the place. ;)

Every other language you will hear her speak she learned later and is not her own language. Now she speaks 4 languages fluently (Dutch, English, Swedish and German) and she can sing in total of 8 different languages fluently (Dutch, English, Swedish, German, Finnish, Spanish, Italian and Latin).

Crazy_Miner14, your obsessive love for Tarja has blinded you. As so many other Tarja fans( not all), you don't seem to be able to grasp the fact that Nightwish is Tuomas' baby. Tarja was the face, Tuomas is the foundation of the band. You still cling to YOUR QUEEN like a cultist, angrily defaming the band and new singers, 17 years after she got the boot. Most bands evolve, as did Nightwish. Of course Floor is good enough, even better in some ways(apart from the operatics, l can give Tarja the edge there). Too many Tarja fans still live in that self constructed fantasy land, where you can revel in all that is Tarja. You don't want to accept that someone else has come along and usurped the status that Tarja once had, namely being the best frontwoman in metal. Nothing wrong in liking Tarja over the other singers. To each their own. Sorry mate, but rabid Tarja fans are kidding themselves in their immature belief that there is no Nightwish without Tarja...
