@Jewrican13 Iberia used Miami airport as a mini-hub, operating DC-9 and MD-87 to several destinations in Central America, connecting to 747 and DC-10 flights from Spain.
Nice to see the "old" silver bird livery of American. I put old in quotation marks, because that livery was around, for quite some time. I think this new livery isn't even 20 years old yet. Airplanes used to be the canvass and the paint schemes, told a story and gave people an idea of a company's personality. Now everything is generic looking. My favorite liveries are from 3 airlines no longer in existence; (original) Braniff ; multi-colored planes, Hughes Airwest with their bright yellow planes and CP Air of Canada with their orange planes.
Because, Iberia used to have a small hub in Miami...They would bring their 747 in from Madrid and instead of running a 747 or DC10 to all the smaller Latin cities surrounding Miami, they would transfer the passengers to a small fleet of their DC9s and fly them to Cancun or Mexico City or any other Caribbean airport that couldnt support a 747....
fascinating. first class video, full of great shots and close up. some beautiful oldies too,.
great to see the old air Jamaica still is the prettiest livery to date in the world
