As an Indian myself, im glad that England won. Im glad they fought back. There is no point in watching sports where result is already known. Heard the similar news from Australia CRICKET IS ALIVE INDEED.
As an England supporter who has really struggled with a lot in my life over the last year, I cried when Foakes got that last wicket from Hartley's bowling, honestly this 44 year old man burst into tears! The way Stokes leads the team, the way he sees potential in people and gives them the environment to believe in themselves is inspiring. To come back from an innings deficit of 190 to win against India, on their soil.... There are no words that can truly describe the achievement. For Pope to do that knock after 6 months out after so many people doubted him.... This team brings joy, whether they win or lose, and i for one am so grateful for what they are doing for the sport, and for inspiring the next generation. Long may test cricket exist in this commercial, money centric world.
I watched both live from the comfort of my lounge in Hamilton. Two teams fought against the odds against a powerhouse team in their own countries. Guts and struggle allowed each team to set an unlikely winning target of early 200s with 2 days to play. The match was won by two bowlers in their first and second matches taking 7 fors. Fabulous sport
Honestly, this day of test cricket has brought me a rush of adrenaline like I haven't had in a while. And I'm not even one of the players or a fan of either of the winning teams. The fact that this video couldn't even encapsulate all the little things (like that incredible Ben Stokes runout of Jadeja. What the fuck even was that?) that led to the giants falling; two in one day, is a testament to how nuanced this 5 day long game can be. Ecstatic with these two games. Absolutely ecstatic.
You could say that Test cricket is almost as much of a test for the spectators as it is for the players. Heck, watching the game it helps to cultivate the same mindset that batters themselves cultivate, the idea of "switching off" between balls to conserve their concentration for the balls themselves. I still think it's worth it though, and days like this hammer that point home.
New recipie to combat Indian spin attack is discovered !! ... being an Indian I am glad to note that our wickets can no longer be called Poor... its only more "competitive"... in india courage pays!!
Hell of a day to be an England fan, an even better day to be a cricket fan. There is no sport better than test cricket at it's best and it was most definitely at it's best today. Doubt it'll be enough to save the game going forward, unfortunately money talks in the end but that's just more reason to savour these days whilst we can. Oh, and Ben Stokes is England's most inspirational leader since Churchill. Meagre competition I know, but we can't hold that against him!
Loads of reasons why England's win was special - as already stated. But one I'd like to be considered....England managed to win, but not because India had a moment of madness and threw the game away or that they played really badly. India were right in it for most of the match( even the last wicket partnership could *almost* have got them there). Probably why India looked so stunned wondering how they lost the match. But ... Great day for everyone who loves test cricket ( and, yeah, nice to have the Windies back 😊)
I think i saw Alzarri Joseph smile ONCE in the whole second test. Even after taking a wicket, he looks like the match is holding him up from being somewhere else. He looks totally disinterested in the game.
Test cricket is far and away the best format, just look at the two games that finished yesterday. Sadly, only 3000 people watched the match at the Gabba and the crowd in Hyderabad didn't look much bigger. This does not bode well for the future.
Over 100000 people across the 4 days wasn't it? Weird take to say only 3k people watched that game. You can't measure test cricket on the same attendance metric as an IPL game
@@eightyseven3113 Ummm, what? It was more tongue in cheek I was happy to see the windies win. It clearly meant so much to them. What was tough to take as an aussie was seeing england win in India. I hate seeing them win
Everyone saying "test cricket at its best ,this and that" But my heart shatters into 100 pieces everytime someone mentions of pope's inning, bazball and that little pirated axar patel, I love upsets but i hate to be on wrong sides of things well played England but fuck off too for ruining my day,
This day is one where you feel completely vindicated when you say, "I watch a test match because it's fun"

Absolutely. Both the tests in India and Australia
Inb4 England get rattled in last 4 test

Test cricket is like life itself and thats why you can't help but be hooked
"test cricket doesnt make it easy,, and thats the point"...
brilliant stuff jarrod.
Correct. It's a terrible game in so many ways but occasionally it rewards you 🙂
The reactions of Brian Lara and Carl Hooper showed us how much this sport means. Awesome cricket in both matches
the love letter you've written to test cricket at the end of that video nearly brought a tear to my eye
South African neutral and test lover, today was incredible!!

There are times i struggle to explain to my non cricketing friends how can someone watch a game for 5 freaking days!! But NOT TODAY !!
Can’t agree more. A remarkable romantic day of test cricket. Thank you Jarrod for the beautiful prose with which you have managed to capture the day!
Thanks
I remember that Ollie Pope said that he won't complain about bunsen burners, he will keep playing on any surface.
I screamed so hard from my bedroom when Hazlewood was bowled.. My parents and some guest who had arrived almost got scared 😅
Watched the game at the stadium, was happy to see so many English folks.. they will carry back this memory for a long time to come
as an Aussie it was refreshing to see us lose to that windies team like that
Even as indian I was happy to lose to poms
What a fantastic day of test cricket. Even as an Aussie fan I was stoked for that young Windies team.

Smashed it again Kimber. You've got me in tears.
Remarkable victories! Well put in words, Jarrod. Even though my team lost where they rarely lose, it was no short of fun to watch as a cricket fan.
Aussie here, was glued to my TV, what a game!
Fantastic video. Great sports journalism! What a day.

Your narrative is just absolutely brilliant.
You speak the true cricket fans words but in poetry. i sobbed a little listening to you.
Test cricket will always be the best form of cricket and the ultimate, the pinnacle of the game.
you truly are the aubrey faulkner of youtubers, jarrod. what a day.
England & West Indies, come on boys keep it going 🇫🇴 🏝 🏏
I’ve always loved your videos, but the production on these main channel videos have remarkably increased. Amazing video
Test Cricket doesn't make it easy, very well said Jarrod. I have huge respect for your content. Thanks a lot for inspiring me.
Beautiful....that's why we love test cricket ❤❤❤❤
There are bad writers, good writers and beautiful writers. So glad a beautiful writer decided to make a show about cricket.
Well said, sir. Hear, hear.
And I thought India vs England was dramatic 😂
Beautiful Jarrod. 👏
I fucking love test cricket!!
You’ve been awesome on talk sport
Great analysis man, 👍
you are incredible in your analysis

1:40 that hand clip is bothering me, why is there a right hand on the right holding a left hand from the left
Jarrod, do you have a transcript of this?

!! REMEMBER THE DATE !!

I love test matches. I was hoping something different happens in this series. It happened
Brilliantly presented👌
You should honestly become a commentator 😂
Well written podcast.
And to think some jokers just want the IPL to run year-round

Worse for Indians
No. You clearly have zero knowledge about Australians

I really want to understand the mind of someone who thinks they are a cricket fan, but doesn't like test cricket.
Shamar Joseph got the wickets. No relation to Alzarri but same surname
SHAMAR JOSEPH IS THE ONE
Brilliant, as ever, Jarrod. Absolutely love your thoughts and analysis!
Test cricket is fun again.
Didn't get free Livestream of both but still 😊

well played England but fuck off too for ruining my day,
❤❤❤❤
All Hail R Dravia
India may loose the series though, it will be difficult for India to beat this England team without Pant, Pujara & Jadeja.
Two guys with less experience in the middle less than a Pujara 100. 🤣😂
😊
Test match cricket is a real test of criceting skills and cricketing 'manhood'.....T20 franchise cricket is just an entertainer...nothing much ado....
What is a beenie baby?
I can live with the West Indies win but c’mon India lift your game. Never give a pom hope. They’re much happier whinging anyway.
Overrated Barber's team must need tuition classes from underrated West Indies team🥺🥺
