@MusicRedd well think about it, something has to prevent the fork lift truck from tipping when it has 3-4 tons on the forks. o tail end is basically a big heavy counter weight made of solid steel.
counter-balance type fork lifts like this one are actually designed to be heavy, they have to be to support some of those loads. think of it as a teeter-totter with the front wheels being the fulcrom. a loaded forklift can weigh more than 5 cars
@ piftorres 1. they don't use a truck that should be an auto tow truck. 2. yes loading docks, but those aren't everywhere 3. just like that but with a proper sized truck with a hydraulic stabilizer and the bed rolls back and tilts to the ground.
@duramaxjad4 Tow trucks are used for towing. This requires a transport, sure you can put anything on the back of a flatbed tow truck but once it's not a vehicle by law it becomes a delivery truck.
@Herkamer88 Yeah they are no joke. The IR VR843 and Hyster 155 on the job site I worked at are about 11 tons each. At first glance, people wouldn't think they would weigh so much. Also, no one would think their engines make only 100hp.
Good point. This truck is too small to haul that forklift anyhow.. I bet its GVWR was exceeded.. On the bigger Rollbacks I have seen, that are made to haul small forklifts like this, they have slots for the forks to go in for security and safety. It's pretty neat.
forklifts, cranes and other machines designed to lift weight are designed heavy in order to keep its center of gravity on the machine itself to keep balance
Yeah, you have a point. I was just coming from the point of it being proper forklift operation to BACK DOWN a ramp instead of driving straight down... especially if you have a heavy load. The forklift is more stable that way and probably would not have tipped forward like that. But a crane would have solved the whole problem like you said.
I drove a Hyster off a loading dock loaded with 1000 lbs of concrete and landed it on all 4 wheels. When I knew I was going over I put my peddle to the floor and that kept me from dropping the nose and rolling it. No damage to the product, the Hyster or me just my ego was a bit bruised.
Not that any of you guys are wrong, but I would NEVER load a forklift onto a ramp truck with the forks facing forward. I REALLY don't feel like getting skewered with steel forks if the chain ever broke and it shifted forward, putting the forks through the cab.
It`s lucky, you not get the forlift over you, if it tip on the side, safety first, is look fun, but you can`t under a second, have respect for this machinery !
If you would have jacked up under the bed, just in front of the ramps, it might have been alright. And lol, that guy on the front made all the difference!!
@MrAks10 7.2% of all private sector workers is unionized. I have heard that union argument for some time but the percentage is way to small to have any meaningful effect.
Um, no, the truck was still bottomed out, he wasn't doing anything but risking his life for no reason, which is fine. Would have made for more laughs if he slipped under the front wheels while running up to the truck, tho, lol.
@ardvarkkkkk1 Sure. 7.2% might seem small...but you know it does matter. Second there are companies like GM and Ford who may be in that 7.2 percent but over 35% of the public and private sector depend on those companies. You heard all the news about "If GM fails...). Guys...we are in this together. Lets not blame it on a minority.
@rotolo77 You could have just said the number 3... Is that better Sir? Oh by the way it's typing not writing. Also for my side of the argument, it;s the internet i do not have to use proper grammer and spelling.
i like the way that one guy jumping on the front of the truck thinks he is going to make a diffrence lmao
lol, the extra 160 lbs will make the difference 😂
Forklifts don't go uphill very well, the tires tend to spin-out. If you go up in reverse, it has more traction.
love the flatbed's counter-weight in the green t-shirt!
@MusicRedd

that last move was an effective way to remove the clumps of grass from the forks.
@ piftorres

At the place I work at : we just use another forklift (big one) to unload it :)
the guy in green saved a day
Thank the forklift gods that guy jumped on the bumper! Thought they were done for, till then.
@Herkamer88

@BluPenguinSETT they most likely drove it on to that crappy little carrier/tow rig from standard loading dock without those extending ramps .
Yeah, you have a point. I was just coming from the point of it being proper forklift operation to BACK DOWN a ramp instead of driving straight down... especially if you have a heavy load. The forklift is more stable that way and probably would not have tipped forward like that. But a crane would have solved the whole problem like you said.
totally depends on the size and lifting capacity. But a small one like this can easily weigh 2 tons.
Pretty cool, great at the very end lol
people regularly underestimate the weight of forklifts. The entire ass-end of small lifts is a huge chunk of iron.
the guy in front of the truck is hilarious.
Jeeze that sound insane
@wurly164 Right. The only problem I saw was there wasn't a guy on the camera side to direct.
hahah! I was thinking, wtf is he gonna do lol
Bending your truck,,,,, priceless !!!
the damn forklift weights more than the truck
Even a small forklift is about twelve thousand pounds. A yard truck like that one is probably around fifteen to eighteen thousand.
@PitbullNL
At least he was trying to help. Apparently the concept of "ground clearance" meant nothing to these guys.
how heavy does a forklift this size weighs?
The guy trying the put his in the front of the truck is totally doing a good job huh! hehehehe.
lmfao dude stands on the front bumper like hes gonna bring the truck down with his skiny ass
Not that any of you guys are wrong, but I would NEVER load a forklift onto a ramp truck with the forks facing forward. I REALLY don't feel like getting skewered with steel forks if the chain ever broke and it shifted forward, putting the forks through the cab.
i drive a fork at work {freight dock} my lift weighes 8,000 pounds and a 150 pound guy thought he was going to hold a truck down...priceless
you cant joke around with such an incident...
It`s lucky, you not get the forlift over you, if it tip on the side,
safety first, is look fun, but you can`t under a second, have respect for this machinery !
notice how the guy in the green tries to balance the truck by standing on the front of it
Is this fort in San Juan by any chance?
This is why you put a forklift on a flat bed and load and unload it from a dock
Truck meant for a small car, has the weight of 3 small cars. Perfect planning.
That’s the first roll back I’ve ever seen that don’t roll back
That's a heavy ass forklift.
Damn, that looks like San Juan.
Bottom line... they were not using a big enough or right kind of truck for the job.
Got some 2.5 ton forklifts at work, each weigh around 4 tons lol
redgc899 Uh...?
groudon4616 Uh.. what? I was replying to Jane Gerrard's comment.
Ever hear of a "loading dock", piftorres? LMAO
@screaminhemi Dude i was thinking the same thing, what the hell did he think he was going to accomplish by jumping on...?
If you would have jacked up under the bed, just in front of the ramps, it might have been alright. And lol, that guy on the front made all the difference!!
My exact thoughts.
yea that one there probably weighs 12,000lbs, we had one like that fall off a truck a month ago
is there anything else they could have done wrong?
@MrAks10 7.2% of all private sector workers is unionized. I have heard that union argument for some time but the percentage is way to small to have any meaningful effect.
His intentions were good.
If it looks extremely dangerous, it probably is.
haha, the forlift probably weighs more than the truck
why got off truck with forward drive?
thats good stuff
Good effort
HUHUHUHU Didiiiii !!!! dá um joinha quem achou que era o Zacarias rindo !
As seeing this often, I think he did a decent job given the situation,
get the forks up lol
They probably used a forklift to put the forklift on the truck.
its called ballast. look it up.
@jaysensix1985 - could be a leverage factor, multiplying the guy's effort. YOU do the maths.
@PitbullNL 6 tons for that thing? i think not. MAYBE a ton and a half.
I'm more interested in how that forklift got up there in the first place...
press 5 very times for old car horn! xD
wow
how come he didnt raise the forks while unloading?
yes the 120 Lb man is going to keep that truck on the ground........hang on paco!!!
@BluPenguinSETT Maybe they used a bigger forklift...
Anyone with half a mind could have seen that was not going to work.
He's lucky it did not tip to one side.
lol as if guy who ran to stand on the front fo the truck had any effect whatsoever lolol
@BluPenguinSETT They used another forklift. ;)
Cool!
@PitbullNL or more! the one at my work is 8 1/2 tons!
I think I hear someone from OSHA laughing
There's no way that truck was designed for carrying such a heavy load in the first place. :-/
lol ok you think that you ride that solid peace of steal up the tail board of a trailer then you call me a liar
great ! 5/5
i enjoyed the girlish giggling noises made by the gay guy in the background. Hilarious.
@BluPenguinSETT crane, ive seen it done, although these guys probably got a bunch of friends and tried to lift it on...
wow forklifts are really heavy.
how does a truck that is supposed to CARRY CARS go up in the air like that.
The forklift should have been driven onto the trailer FORKS FIRST and backed down slowly IN REVERSE!
classic mexican logic
Gentlemen, replace your divits.
camera guy is a little too excited....
Quick thinking by bloke in green t-shirt.
you did well but still dangerous.
I thought he did pretty well, considering....
@PitbullNL that weighs about 2 tho .. max !
Thats it give Illegals work while us americans are unemployed
ha ha ha good vid
Um, no, the truck was still bottomed out, he wasn't doing anything but risking his life for no reason, which is fine. Would have made for more laughs if he slipped under the front wheels while running up to the truck, tho, lol.
i know
Forklifts should be loaded forks first, or didnt they teach that in romper room.

i expected more

counter weight
well it worked
He thinks he also weighs 6 tons
