  • Club Helmbreker is a musical project featuring an informal and fluid collective of musicians. The purpose of the project is to reinterpret hits, hidden gems and rarities by another artist in one day. Club Helmbreker was initiated by Huub Reijnders, Martijn Bosman, Mathijs Ton and Yorick van Norden in April 2014.
Celebrating the 20th anniversary of one mr. Beck Hansen's commercial breakthrough with the song 'Loser' in April 1994, a group of Dutch musicians gathered together at the Netherlands' Studio Helmbreker on the 7th of April 2014 to pay tribute to Beck.
After starting off the session with a fresh and exciting mash-up of the aforementioned 'Loser' and the song 'Novacane' led by the phenomenal E1Ten, the group turned their attention to Beck's brand new 'Morning Phase' LP. Following a quick lunch break, the musicians came up with a stunning arrangement for the song 'Don't Let It Go'. The amazing Blue June (aka Pien Breeuwsma) took on leadvocal duties this time around.
Among the featured musicians are (ex-)members of Baskerville, Wooden Saints, Daniel Lohues, The Kik, Guus Meeuwis, The Hype, Blue June, Gem, Gotcha! and Chef'Special.
