Yup. But Dame was pushed out. Benzino was getting 70% of his ad revenue for the Source from Interscope/Jimmy Ivione. So what does he do, attack their best label Aftermath-Shady, go at their best rappers, so all that revenue dried up. Then fans like me with 8 years of subscriptions left because of their attack on Em-50-Shady records. Zino is the reason the source folded and thev5 mics ranking was never trusted again.
Plus, Irv Gotti for the second time.

@@precisiongrindin1848 100% correct. But the problem with Dame was JayZ wanted to be a mogul. A boss. There was no way both could be bosses at RN together. One had to go. Jay actually had the talent that made money off his name. So whether Dame was silent or not, he had to go. Plus, Jay was having a bunch of secretive meetings prior to Dame blowing up(mouth wise) in the media. Dame was Puffy at RN, but Jay wanted to be Puffy and Biggie, which is what happened.
The Source will always be one of hip hops biggest dissapointing downfalls. It had so much potential to still be going strong despite the Internet taking over. It had a loyal fanbase and was relatively cheap for 12 issues..only $40. But ego is the biggest crutches alot of these Benzinos types use to live on. Benzino never had 50's street reputation, but tried so hard to have it. Instead of sitting back and getting paid, he tried to blackball a white rapper trying to make it. 😒

At that time he had taken full control of his career and dame input was no longer needed. OG Jaun plays the same role dame used to play but stays in the background and let take all the credit for the greater of the team.

I got all those old school mags still. But until he went at Em, I never knew he was the owner. I used to read every word. Unsigned hype, lyric section, hell I even bought a fake no limit and death row pendant from the ads in the back. I was a huge Source Stan. But after he went at Em for some shit in high school, I called and canceled. They called me back 2 hrs later(before the internet, we called in to cancel) to beg me to not cancel. Offered me a Made Men poster and CD signed by the group and Benzino. I laughed at them. Said I'm going to XXL. Benzino destroyed the Source, not Mays. He went at Interscope/Shady/Aftermath, who was paying 70% of the ad revenue. Then ZIno sexually assualted a top worker, getting sued and losing for millions. Then he was spending money unwisely. Not mays, Benzino. But worse of all, he ruined the 5 mics by wanting his group Made Men to get 5 mics. He ended up getting 4.5 (same as Em) , but lost a few writers because they protested.
