I love how there are many reviews from different countries and in all of them you can hear "will it drift - no" and then there is Poland "Swingo Backwards & Tandem DRIFTING!" xdddd
@antoniocastano97 it is possible if you modify it, bigger turbo, remove the traction control, different setup, maybe shittier tyres on the back and good tyres on the front will help 😅
I think some people are missing the point, let's not forget its a city car, a rear engined, rear wheel drive city car with a 0-60 time of 9 and a half seconds and a stupidly large amount of optional space, all on top of the fact it has a much smaller turning circle as the wheels have more room because there's no engine there doesn't sound half bad to me. I personally think it looks great too so in my eyes this thing is amazing.
Boneless Jack, I've owned a Twingo GT for six months now (white with optional decals) and I can highly recommend it as a fairly quick and very practical warm hatch that does around 45 mpg provided that you don't rev it flat out all the time . Cabin and boot space are fine as is the elevated driving position that gives great all round visibility. Handling is good but ride is a bit firm. Although these are used as entry level racing cars on the continent, the UK press's lukewarm response has managed to kill off sales of the Twingo GT in this country and they are now not listed at all by Renault UK although three are still recorded as being in stock (at a discount?) according to their website.
i think people are missing the point on this one its not supposed to be a hot hatch - its a sport styled and slightly sport tuned city car ? enjoyable and very well presented review, presenter reminds me of richard hammond a bit
I've just driven my wife's normal one it handles great light steering light gear change ok you have to rev the engine to get the best out if it,its not a cruiser, its a great driving car around b roads.
Why won’t they make a proper RenaultSport Twingo? The last gen one had 135bhp, which still isn’t enough. The smart forfour brabus has the same problem. If they made a manual one of these cars with 150bhp+ I’d get one as a daily.
Christopher O'Grady the last Twingo RS was plenty fast enough, only lacked power once you were doing over 120 on the motorway, which isn’t allowed anyway.
Common renault . Lower it give it 135+bhp, bigger wheels, lower height and cup chassis and a sportier look and you have a winner. And make it 30kg+ lighter
Piece of junk this car is , the older Twingo was a light year better, would do 60mph in 8 seconds and 135mph top speed, dont get why they made the new GT slower ?
Not an awful lot really, just the battery, fluid bottles and some wiring. It doesn't actually open like a normal bonnet; instead you have to sort of unlock various plastic parts from outside the car and it then slides forward so you can access what's underneath. A whole lot of hassle for what wouldn't have been very interesting on camera!
older twingo is way better my mates got the old 1.4 GT turbo and it does 60mph in 8 seconds and 135mph so wtf have Renault made the new Twingo so slow ?
The ESP can be switched off by removing the fuse on any car. But that doesn't really make it OK. This is supposed to be the top of the line sporty variant. How can you put a revcounter on a display somewhere out of sight on a car like this?
@@elitesennabubble You can also pull a fuse and achieve the same thing with a lot less effort. But that doesn't change my point. Sporty cars have rev counters and an esp + traction control off button.
@ast5515 I have a video to wire an aftermarket rev counter too. If you pull the fuse, you lose your ABS too. Also the fuse you have to pull is hidden in a box under the front bonnet and its hard to get to and hard to open. With my way you can clear the dash lights as well when you disable ASR

It's almost a hot hatch though, I hope they'll make a new Twingo RS
I’ve got the 1.6 rs facelift model love it

I look forward to more videos.Keep it up!

just because it is a rear wheel drive, does not mean it was made to be a supercar. This is not a gt ferrari, it is just a small renault for the city
drifting and rwd fun has nothing to do with being a supercar, i can drift a 525tds touring all day long
No ESP button ?? Then it's not even fun on snow or gravel 😥😥😪😪😫😫😢😢😭😭😭😭😭
Just remove the fuse, it is not that hard...
@@derwolf200 -or connect a little on/off -button before the fuse! and turn in on, when your grandma borrows it for shopping!
Aunque desconecten el botón del ESP, es imposible desconectarlo por completo
I actually like the earlier twingo shape mostly the twingo sport
I currently drive the turbo powered regular twingo. It's hardly the best car I've driven, but hardly the worst.

Thank you. Is our bass boosted enough for you? :')
Clearly the didn't see the other guy from youtube that has disabled the traction control and drifts the shit out of this car.

Great review skippy :-))
Thanks for the constant support Andrew :)
0:52 that's a lot of surface rust on the exhaust for a car that's less than a year old!

I'd like to see someone actually getting the engine out of this and modifying it. Then we might actually see some potential
It can drift on the stock powertrain fairly well

Ryan McElroy Thanks :)
I hate modern electronic cancer stability control systems, there should always be an option to turn them off
No tachometer and no rear windows that roll down? Unacceptable in 2017, regardless of price.
How many times do you actually need to open the windows in the back tho? Not important
you can drift any car if you try😂
Trust us... He tried... A lot!
Car Keys UK give it me for a day then😫😂
:')! We think you get one and invite us down ;)!
Car Keys UK I've got an idea, I'll pay for use of a track for the day and you supply the car and we can have a drift off

Can't turn ESP off.
Don't have a rev counter.
You call that a GT, Renault? Really?
The ESP I heard can be disconnected from the fuse box, and the revcounter is built into the R&Go system which will be displayed on the screen.
