Yeah FF did have one of the best comebacks. Mechanize was such a nice album after so many years of not hearing any new FF

Burton is such an amazing and insightful person. I got into Fear Factory in 2010 after I found an album an old friend gave me. I was into numetal growing up which was... fine. Demanufacture and Obsolite stuck with me, but Mechanize sealed the deal. Their music and concept just hits all the right notes in my soul. The first time I saw them live was in Joliet IL. My wife and I brought in a sign that our daughter made for her door (no boys allowed... except Daddy, Walter, and Fear Factory). Dino lit up and wanted to keep it. The other band members signed it after the show by the tour bus. They brought the sign in and Burton signed it. We were going to meet him, but because he was on the phone with his family, we told them it was cool and we'll see them at a future show. We then got to meet Burton at Cold Waves in Chicago IL. He was just walking around the bar and talking with everyone. Our new buddy Rob walked us over to him so we could say hello. Man, I was so damn star struck I could barely say anything to him... it was embarrassing. I wanted to pick his brain and see if he drew inspiration from Dune, or even sci-fi franchises like BattleTech, that have themes similar to their music, and ask about Ascension. Totally choked. My wife was doing all the talking and he actually remembered the sign that our daughter made and an email he sent her about it. We still have the sign hanging in her room. I'm hoping the next show I go to I'll actually talk to him... needless to say, Fear Factory has been a big part of my life. I have mad respect for them.

I sort of get where Burton is coming from here with apreciating music. I first discovered FF in 1995 from the Mortal Kombat movie soundtrack. I borrowed a copy of the CD from my friend and copied it onto tape, I eventually wore it out lol. I spent a good three or four years trying to find a copy of demanufacture once I realized that was where zero signal was from. I bought pretty much every fear factory album I could find and loved them all, but still always wanted demanufacture. I finally found it one day in a store and was so happy. It was a moment of pride that I finally had this album that I loved. Today you can just search youtube or whatever streaming service you want and instantly find most anything you want. That experience of trying to find an album you want is gone, and that is both a good and bad thing.

Just wanted to say, first of all great interview and interviewer, but also just how awesome Burton is and how much he has influenced my music tastes with FF over my childhood and adulthood. I hope he picks up future projects, and I will certainly follow them. Thanks for all the awesome music and influence with FF Burton. No one can replace you.

Overall, great podcast! Burton has always been the shit; really huge inspiration and a collected individual. I really enjoyed his elaboration about each record, respectively. Burton c. Bell is the man, This chat about who should be held responsible for somebody finding a site on how to commit suicide and going through with it, Is the page owner responsible or is it freedom of speech? - I think the line should be drawn somewhere if it could be this detrimental. But then we are all given free will so if you chose to go thorough with it you could argue the persons will was to go though with it anyway... Its a tough one.
I'm kind of swayed to thinking someone can say things and plant a seed in your mind but only you as a person can choose if you go through with it it not..... Really hard topic but thought provoking
Also Burt should not lose faith in putting out music because there are some of us out here who have every physical copy of the bands music as well as shirts that remind me regularly of his words that in lots of ways helped me back to getting the confidence to tackle things and change my life for the better.
I'm certain if I feel this way the power of his music has done the same for many others , something he should be proud of - if we where all stood in front of him saying you made my life better in some way and shared our story then what an amazing reassurance to know he was responsible in part for it I hope Burt can read this , he inspired me so here's my two cents to inspire burt to not give up ,keep sharing the music for those many of us it has helped... paying money for a physical copy is worth every penny to a person you somewhat feel indebted to who's music has helped you out so they can continue to make more in the future. Their help exceeds the cost of a CD that's for certain! Thanks for providing us with this Myles.

I think if a person desires to end their life they should be able to painlessly and without repurcussions. Many people like to pretend they care about others but in the cold light of day no one lives the experience of the sufferer other than the person themselves and these people should have the right to end their suffering.

    Thanks guys.
    About the Spotify.
I wonder if Burton thinks it is worse than piracy?
Is it worse because artist doesn't get paid at all, while the company gain the profits?
So Burton would rather avoid Spotify, earn some money from dedicated fans who would buy the music, and be okay with the fact it will get pirated anyway?
I guess not earning on music via Spotify is the price for being in a rotation in there.
Most people use it, it's like a promoting tool for musicians.
The chance you will get more new audience is bigger via Spotify, then via old fashioned piracy I guess.
I am not saying it is okay, but this is the way it is.

Yeah we are in a global community but it's important that each country keeps it's sovereignty. You can have a stronger united world in that format especially when everyone is doing well and society is advancing vs a one world government tyranny system. Alot of the war machine and secret society controllers are the reason we have so much division war etc. The system that ran the crown for so many years moved it's power to USA after WW2. They want all the power. Every war has been purely bs. So yeah our world community can be stronger if more truth is revieled and the people have their power and sovereignty. And trust me elections are rigged. I vote all the time but but Burt is in boomer land if he doesn't realize it's controlled

Burt if right about the theft of music. I bought 18.99 cds with only 10 tracks. But it's necessary how can you afford to go on. Your music has to make money. You need the imagery of the album art, you gotten hear every song on the album and absorb it. And I think bathe bass seems better on a CD than when your streaming

Such remarkable consistency. Talking about empathy and compassion, yet so willing and careless to call another human beign a "monster", just because the media, corporate interests and liberal police portrayed that way, even though these two men never talked to, met with or know personally that person. Quite disappointing given the fact that they talked about media and indoctrination, and Burton himself has been judged and scrutinized in the same way by the media he says he doesn't trust and claim is spreading misinformation and fake news. Hypocrisy and double standard at its finest.
