Your enthusiasm is contagious and fun to watch it being expressed! You mentioned the bio by Lucy Worsley, who is one of my favorite historians, and video narrators. Her various videos about Jane Austen are superb, and many are available to watch on TH-cam. I also enjoyed looking at all the JA souvenirs in your collection-thanks, Katie, for a fun video.
I really enjoyed this video. Your collection is fabulous! If I had that picture-changing mug I would probably never drink coffee or tea out of anything else.
This was FUN, Katie! That soap is fantastic and I would never use it, but keep it on display. I JUST got the box set of the Collector's Library from World of Books. I have some different Jane Austen playing cards but not a lot of other stuff besides books--well, that will have to change!
My favourite Jane Austen things that I have are little hang-up cloth dolls of Anne Eliot and Captain Wentworth, I agonised over which ones to get for ages in Chawton and now I'm just sorry I didn't just get more altogether! Also a cloth bookmark with a Persuasion quote embroidered on. I absolutely love that regency fashion mug, such a great idea.
You should try one of the many graphic novel adaptions of Jane Austen's books. Most aren't that good, but I'd recommend the version of Sense and Sensibility drawn by Sonny Liew. It's rather beautiful.
OK, now I’m motivated to finally read Lady Susan. Can’t wait! I also picked up Jane Austen, the Secret Radical by Helena Kelly. Appears it’s about political themes in her novels. Don’t get me wrong, I love the romantic story lines (doesn’t get better for me than Captain Wentworth!) but it seems there’s a lot more going on in those exquisite pages. Happy Jane Austen July to all!
I really liked the book The Jane Austen Society by Natalie Jenner. Did I miss you talking about that book sometime over the last few Jane Austen July’s? Have you read it? If not, highly recommend this book for any Jane Austen fan. Happy reading everyone😁
It's just perfect that Jane Austen is the joker. I have the newer versions of the Collectors' Library Austens with the same illustrations. A lovely selection of things.
Love all your Jane Austen's books and things, specially your changing clothes mug. I collect editions of her books, lately I bought the Chiltern and flametree editions here in Mexico but I also have spanish editions as well. I love everything related to her.❤
That changing color mug is amazing!!! My only Jane Austen related thing is a mug with quotes from her books, I love it very much 😍. Oh, and DVDs and books, of course, but not special editions, just paperbacks 😊
I have that Collector's Library Editions of the 6 main books (except that my Persuasion, though it is the same size, is Oxford Pocket Edition and has no pictures). I also have my original paperbacks, by a variety of publishers, and a few nicely-bound hardbacks. My newest collection is the nice Barnes and Noble Classic Editions, that have faux-leather covers in pretty colors, and are full-size, except they haven't yet released MP or NA.
You are so fortunate to have a physical copy of An Unequal Affection. It’s hard to come by in the US unless you want to spend too much money on it. I have the puzzle and a different deck of cards. Thanks for the review on Marry Mr Darcy Game . I hesitated in buying it. I think I will ask for it at Christmas. Thanks for your great content.
I bought it second-hand from somewhere and it took a month to come - definitely hard to get hold of! I really enjoy the Marrying Mr Darcy Game - very silly and very fun.
I’m loving What matters in Jane Austen? as a different viewpoint on the books. Must get the puzzle! I saw it in London when I was in England last time, but had already purchased the Charles Dickens one as a present.
Gathering more and more books , but- alas- no ' things ' yet. Mug # 3!!!! Ive never seen such a thing. Very cool JA stuff. Finished Jane at Home, loved it. Im about to read Jack and Alice. 😊
Jane Austen July has started really well for me. I’ve re-read Persuasion, and watched the latest adaptation of it with Dakota Johnson. I’m currently re-reading Emma and will then watch the latest adaptation of that which I still have not seen. I have plenty of retelling son my shelf also. I, too love the puzzles! I have Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, Sherlock Holmes, Agatha Christie and the world of Dracula! I found the Dickens one the most difficult so far! I love those playing cards, and must look out for those! I don’t have too much “stuff” but I must admit to having several sets of the novels! For shame! Thanks so much for Jane Austen July, it motivates me so much and I’m always glad to have discovered new books or noticed new things on re-reads.
I have the books: Emma & Mansfield Park in the vintage classics, Pride and Prejudice in the Barnes and Noble edition, Persuasion in a Modern library edition, and Sense and Sensibility in a clothbound. I also have the Barnes and Noble leather-bound with all her 7 main works. Other books I have are Jane Austen: Her Life and Letters, The Real Jane Austen, Miss Austen, Charlotte, The Other Bennet Sister, books 1 and 2 of the Heartstone trilogy, and Tooth and Claw. I have two bookmarks with Jane Austen quotes, the same Emma adaptation you have, and P&P 2005. I have put that puzzle on my Amazon wishlist along with the Dickens one. I got a mug last year with book quotes and the quote from Pride and Prejudice is on there.
@@katiejlumsden I was hesitant to get it, because we do puzzles as a family right around Christmas time and I didn't know if they'd be interested. I cannot do anymore than 300 pieces by myself either Lol
Watching your video has made me realise just how much JA stuff I have! I have so many different versions of Jane Austen novels, including graphic novels and a really old boxed set of paperbacks published by Pan. Plus a P&P paperback with a 1960's trashy novel style cover. I highly recommend the John Mullan and Lucy Worsley books you mentioned and I love Faye Weldon's Letters to Alice. I've got the Deirdre Le Faye edition of JA's letters. Among many other books I've also got 'Jane Austen, The Secret Radical' by Helena Kelly. I'd love to know what you think of it as I find some of her assertions ridiculous. I have at least one version of all of JA's works that have been filmed on video. I also have and love Lost in Austen and Austenland. Finally...., I wear a replica of her ring which my husband bought me from the JA centre in Bath.
The three main ones in The Beautifull Cassandra (Jack and Alice, Henry and Eliza and The Beautifull Cassandra) are in the Sanditon, Lady Susan & The History of England, but there are a couple of other little ones, in the form of letters, which aren't.

Lovely! This reminds me that I forgot to include my Christmas decorations of Elizabeth and Darcy XD

The Folio Society Jane Austens are such pretty books, I have all of them on my wishlist. I also have the peacock shirt but in purple.
I have the puzzle, so enjoyable!! The regency fashion mug is lovely.
This was such a fun video! It has inspired me to do a video about my Jane Austen books and things!🤗 Thank you for hosting Jane Austen July!!💕💐

I also love Lady Susan a lot. Enjoy reading it very much. The most interesting about J.O. is irony she know how to use in most of her books.
I'm going to get the Jane Austen jigsaw puzzel! Oh and look out for the playing cards!
Lovely video thanks.

I have 2 tea sets and a mug from the Jane Austen Center giftshop. Also some earrings and the game Guess Who?
I love that last mug!!!!! 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
I got Charles Dickens the pickwick papers in colletable classics
What a lovely vlog-thank you!

Those puzzles are so great. I've done the Dickens, Sherlock Holmes and Shakespeare ones, and I've got the Agatha Christie one to do, too!

I played Marrying Mr Darcy five/six years ago when I was a more casual fan of her work and I had a lot of fun but should go back now

Haha yes, I have read The Secret Radical, many years ago, and I definitely found some of it rather a stretch!
Haha love the Jane Austen board game
How very nice!
I am listening to Jane Austen at Home.
😀😀
Does anybody know if there’s any shorter work in “The Beautifull Cassandra” not present in “Sanditon, Lady Susan & The History of England”? Thank you.

😢 I missed placed my Lucy Worsley biography. I wanted to continue reading it this month and can't find it.
Oh no, what a bother!
I want to read lady Susan 🩵
