It would be so so fun to see a reading vlog of any classics you’ve never read! I’d love to hear your opinions on them!!
Done. I will work on this immediately 😊
I love buying classics used. There's something about the history in it. I just found a copy of The Picture of Dorian Gray finally! ☕️
I too collect every Wuthering Heights editions I can find!
Dracula,Frankenstein, Sense and Sensibility and The Scarlet Letter are the other classics I own multiple editions of..
It is technically probably not a classic, but my favorite classic on my shelf is one I inherited from my grandma. We lost her a few months ago to Parkinson’s. I was devastated. My dad asked if I wanted anything from her house to remember her by, and I knew immediately I wanted this book.
It is titled, ‘Outline of Great Books’ by Wise& co. It isn’t a story. I believe it is a nonfiction book on a study of the world’s greatest books, but the cover is so beautiful. The cover is textured with raised decorative patterns of trees, bound books, and a desk. It was published in 1936, and the nearly 1300 yellowed, vanilla-scented pages show its age. I used to run my fingers down the spine when we’d visit her house. This book lived with her for 70+ years, and has existed for nearly 100 years. I will always see my grandma when I see that book. It sits on my shelf with my other favorite classics like Emma and Pride and Prejudice.
Edited to say: if this posts twice, the first one told me there was an error,so I commented again. Sorry if anyone can see it twice.
The Queen posted and I came RUNNING!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Omg you’re so sweet 😭😭❤️❤️
Hi Lexi! The penguin collection that is "leather" are actually called the Penguin Leatherbound Classics Collection. I have them all except one (Withering Heights!) and they actually aren't just gothic books. A Christmas Carol, The Jungle Books, Great Expectations and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland are also part of the collection 😍
*WUTHERING.....absolutely not Withering
@@dayrayme And also Pride and Prejudice (in that faux-leather penguin collection).
Thought, "A flock of geese,' was a classic I had not heard of! Best wishes with your reading choices in 2024.
I was SO excited to see this video on my feed!!! I've been in a huge classics reading mood lately so I can't wait to watch this now😍
at the thrift store i found a beaten up wuthering heights with so many annotations by different people im obsessed with that copy
i also found a book that simplifies all shakespeare plays written????? like in explanation paragraph form
This is my favorite way to see someone’s book collection. Seeing all of your classics was so lovely. ☕️
if you love virginia wolf you hhave to watch (or read) the hours! the movie was beautiful
The Bernie Wrightson Frankenstein art is wonderful. What a fantastic edition!
My favorite classic that I own is my penguin classics deluxe edition of wuthering hights❤☕️
The Dracula edition by Edward Gorey is penned by the guy who created the original Addams family cartoon and show.
My favorite classics are the Ranford Mystery Miler series. They were written awhile back and I’ve been trying to collect them but it’s hard because they are out of print and the newest versions are from back in like the 30s or 40s and they don’t come cheap! I also try getting them with the dust covers which isn’t always guaranteed. I once had to spend a mint plus shipping! But it’s worth it! They have sentimental value to my family and childhood memories. Currently only have 2 of the 4, but one doesn’t have the dust cover and I think I might try to order it again. Anyway! That’s my story!
I just got Rebecca from the library and can't wait to read it! I also want to read Emma and the Count kf Monte Cristo this year... and Frankenstein.... so many books, so little time! ☕️
I just started the Count of Monte Cristo this month and I'm loving it so far! It's very easy to follow and the characters stand out very nicely! I'm only about four chapters in but I'm very optimistic that I'm going to love this book!
@@madilynanderson2497 I remember starting it years ago but gave up half way through because I didn't have the attention span for such a chunky book. I do remember liking it, hopefully I have developed the appropriate attention span 😋
Penguin classics are my fav, the ones with the black spine. Or the Penguin clothbound
Best part of my lunch hour 💕 those are absolutely gorgeous. I have the Penguin Vintage Classic War and Peace, but I haven't gathered the courage to read it yet 👀
☕️ I highly recommend you prioritize War and Peace! I LOVED this book SO MUCH! Tip from someone who had a hard time with it in the beginning, Amazon has a 6 part series that is AMAZING! I watched the first part and then read the book and then continued watching alongside reading it. The names are a bit confusing, so this helped me. It really is an incredible story and the sense of accomplishment you will feel having read it is amazing too!
I feel you-I have a couple classics that I have on my shelf that I don't read as much, but I really need to prioritize reading them.
I realy like to buy classics from The Folio Society. They are so beautyful, always illustrated and so comfy to read from. A bit pricy though. I also realy like the everymans library editions. They are so good to read from, and I love how they look in my bookcase when I take the dustjackets off🙈. I am currently reading Jamaica Inn by D.D.M in the same yellow edition that you showed. It looks and sounds so sunny, but it’s gothic all right. I am realy enjoying it so far😊.
That intro 🤣🤣🤣🤣 your British accent could star in a period drama
I just recently started building my classics collection! Little Women is my favorite classic followed very closely by anything Edgar Allen Poe. I am collecting the B&N collectors editions. Leather bound and foiled!
Little Women is amazing, lived the last version of movie!
Tea 🍵! I made it to the end/ you have a fairly extensive classics collection and I'd love to hear more about these, as you read them. Classics are my faves!!
I'm surprised you don't have any of the Chiltern editions. They're beautiful.
Ayn Rand is a must. The Fountainhead is my favorite, and I’m reading Atlas Shrugged now.
The most adorable “tea” cup!! 🥹
Beautiful books!!, I also liked Wuthering Heights despite the fact that sometimes the main characters stressed me out 😂
I came across your channel years ago because of your classics video! Great to see an updated version
🍵 The Great Gatsby is by far my favorite classic! When I am down my best friend/roommate always puts the movie on because we both love it and he knows it puts me in a good mood despite the bitter ending.
Thank you for sharing your classics collection! Currently building my own classics collection!
I adore classics! I also collect favorite editions and love to fawn over them.💗 I try to read one classic a month. I too share your love for Wuthering Heights! ☕
What a stunning collection, Lexi…a true feast for the eyes. Thanks for sharing your treasures!!🫖☕️📚📖❤️
YYEESSS OMG PLEASE READ THE ITALIAN 😭💙
And with that, my heart was lifted. ❤
Absolutely loved this video! 🫖☕️ You have inspired me to collect some of these editions! Would love to see a video of your favorite classics as well as maybe which classics to start with for beginners. 📚
Great lip color for your skintone!! Love a grayish mauve
I’m glad your voice is back 😊
Uhhhh, background goals. Love the shelves and your collection of books
I just searched your channel for a classics video like three days ago - so excited at this timing!
The White Queen is one of my favourite series ever. Hope you enjoy!
Love all your classic books. My favorites are Dracula and Frankenstein which i own multiple copies of each. ☕️
All I can say is that what a amazing and beautiful collection of classic books 📚 I am totally jealous of you and your amazing books 📚 love you and your amazing work love your Aussie family friend John ❤❤❤
Great collection:) The Penguin Leather ones are Penguin Faux-Leather editions. They aren't just gothic books as they also include Pride and Prejudice and Sherlock Holmes, etc.
Your classic book collection is stunning. I have a few, but will definitely start collecting more. Thank you for this video, I really enjoyed e. ☕
It's perfectly acceptable to watch Hocus Pocus year round. Thackery Binx will forever have my heart. 🫖
Great collection! My particular favorite classics so far are Treasure Island, Sherlock Holmes, Sense And Sensibility, Count Of Monte Cristo and Wuthering Heights! 🍵☕
Love your collection! I have been collecting classics in Dutch from readers digest. I had 80ish books from that series but I had to sell pretty much ll of them due to a lack of space. Once I move into a bigger home I want to start collecting them again.
This was amazing and interesting to see what you have. My favorite classic book has to be the lost world. ☕️
Now I need the Charles Dickens collection!! I loved all your books 🍵
I got like 9 books, i think, by Jane Austen on my kindle for like $.99 in a bundle deal. I was so excited.
I also own the same Dracula book with the red velvet cover!! It's epic! 🍵
I really enjoy the Harper Muse Painted Editions and the Penguin Drop Caps! ☕️ 🫖
GIRL to tell you I cried when your well-loved edition of Bleak House broke... I would be lying. I freaking SOBBED!!! poor book... ☕ love ya girl!
My favorite classics are The Jungle Book; The Arabian Nights; The Count of Monte Cristo
For me I don’t have a specific edition I go for when it comes to classics I just go for the pretty covers. I do however have certain classic books I own different editions to. I collect Little Women and Anne of Green Gables and Pride and Prejudice and Wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland. I did for while pick up the Barnes and Nobels editions that they sell for a bit. ☕️
Love the smelling of the book!
The Peter Pan book with Scott Gustafson was amazing
Great collection! I too have tons of classics in various collections, but my favorites to read from are the oxford classics and the black spine penguins, so I'm presently building my collection of those two. The rest are gorgeous and look great on my book shelves, LOL
Love the casual "I have a flock of geese" 😂😅
pleaseeeee do a classics reading vlog!!! or maybe a "read with me" where you just set the camera up for half an hour and read lol.
I looooove the Penguin editions, maybe some day I'll be able to get them for myself ❤ aaaaannndddd I have been waaaitiiingggg on the updated bookshelf tour! Since you first mentioned you'd do one this year I have been looking out for it! I'm excited you're doing it soon ❤️ can't wait, love you Lexi!
omg, this has made my entire week!!! I love pretty classics and I love you!!! I'm so excited to watch this!!!
Chiltern classics are beautiful btw
Such a beautiful collection. ☕️
Wow... I have been like forever waiting to see this , thanks for sharing, I have a few very very very old grandpa books too 🍵 🫖
Do a video of books you think would be FUTURE classics!
☕️ My favorite classic is Jane Eyre, and my favorite edition of it is in 19th century Mercier Binding. It smells amazing, like only the oldest books do, you know? My sister bought it for me while we were bookshopping on my 30th birthday (a few years ago).
Pausing to say, that hand montage was top tier editing friend 😂 loved it!
I loved that part too! Lol
Right?! ❤😂
Love the books 💖 Also, where is your shirt from? It’s so cute 💕🌸
Madame Bovary is really good. I like that good a lot.
What a beautiful collection! ☕️
They're so beautiful! ☕ Going book shopping this week-end. Might look for those Penguins Classic! 😍
I haven't read many classics but so far my favorite is The Picture of Dorian Gray☕
☕ I adore the vintage classics and want to get as many as possible (I only own the Jane Austen books so far and I can't decide if I want to purchase the Russians or the Virginia Woolf books next). If there isn't a vintage edition, I look for a deluxe edition. I must be a sucker for the French flap. Other than that, my husband and I just have penguin classics or the versions that we bought at university book stores...you know? I love an aesthetically pleasing cover for a classic...it just helps when it doesn't make you feel like you're a high school student being forced to read it 😅
The intro was hilarious! Loved it😂❤️
Enjoyed this tour of your classics 😍
Inspired to collect more classics. Also, thank you for adding the list as well.
I think my favorite part is the moment you questioned if you were saying the title wrong your whole life. I did this a lot 😂😅
☕️ I love classics! Wuthering Heights is brilliant, I love all the Bronte sisters works! Im hoping to read Lady Auderlys Secret soon. My favourite editions are the English Library or the Oxford World Classics 😊
You have such a beautiful collection
Yes! Binx 😍I named the black street cat Thackery ... until I found out it was a female. Thackerina it is! 🔋🫖
I loved My cousin Rachel, Anna Karenina, Wuthering Heights and 100 years of solitude. Idk if you already read them, otherwise you definitely should! And on your list I want to read Great expectations, East of Eden and Northanger Abbey.
☕️☕️please please do a video or vlog reading any of the classics
Hahaha you got a Nijntje mug: they gave you a mug from a well-known children's TV show/book series from the Netherlands 🥰
There are so many of these classics I still want to own and read. And I’m with you-Wuthering Heights is sooo good! Toxic AF, but quite an enjoyable read. 😅
All of them are so pretty😍☕
I prefer children classics. But love seeing anyone's collection of classics of all kinds.
That was an instant classic.
You've been recommending bridgerton for over a year a ND I just started it and I'm soo mad I didnt start it sooner I'm obsessed
Hi Alexandra. I came across your channel a while ago and I really love it describing all your books. I love reading also, especially classical and historical books. Since I work a 9-5pm job as a Legal Assistant, I was wondering how someone can start doing what you do on the internet and have their own book channel. How did you get started making this channel and would you recommend this type of job for everyone? How do you start making a living doing this? Thank you so much and absolutely love your channel! Best of luck!
☕️ I have intentions to read more classics but have had a difficult time staying engaged with them. I read and listened to Dracula last fall. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it. I tried Master and Margarita this year and had a terrible time. I tried multiple translations and format but class not able to stick with it.
I just purchased the Penquin Classics editions of WH and JE. I just recently read JE and I loved it. Kinda scared to read WH 😂 ☕☕☕☕☕
☕️ I really want to read Dorian Grey. My favorite Jane Austin is Emma.
My absolute favorite classics are Jane Eyre and The Secret Garden, but I have a feeling the Count of Monte Cristo is soon joining them!
Also, this video came just in time! I've been so burned out for most of the year so far and I was on the brink of tears when I sat down to try to recharge before another hectic day tomorrow and this was at the top of the page 😭 also I'm reading more classics this year so it's nice to see all the pretty editions you have!
SO EXCITED!!! 🖤🌺🪻🪻💛🌈🌈🩵🩵💞💕💕💕💛🪻🪻💜💜🖤💖💖🖤💙❤️🥀💓🌹🤍🤍🪷🌻❤️🔥❤️🔥🌻❣️🩶🌹🤍💙🌺🖤🖤💜💜🌈🩷🩵🩵🩷💞💕💕💚🌷💜💛🌺🪻🪻🪷🌸📖📚📙📙📚📚📖📖📖📚📙📙📙📚📖📖📚📙📙📚📚📚📙📙📙📚📚📙📙📙📚
I also want to prioritize classics more but this year I've only read Sense & Sensibility so far😂 It was my first Jane Austen book so I don't have any comparison but I can't wait to read more classics hopefully soon🥰
oh my god when you said this is from white feng I laughed so hard like what the hell is she sayingthks for that!!! and also how on earth is it possible to have so much beautiful classics ???😂
I ve seen Les Mis the musical 5 x …I love it that much. But the book is so much better with all the back stories of the characters. It’s true that Hugo goes off on some tangents but the meat of the book is fabulous…5⭐️ read for me. I collect the Penguin Classic clothbounds ..covers by Coralie Bickfird- Smith. I don’t read from them as they do tend to wear but I love them on my shelf. I think I now have 27 of them. I don’t read print books much any more as the font is small at my age so I rely in kindle a lot or audio with print.
Heart of Kentucky. Barnes and Noble no longer carries the classics that are complete and unabridged. I made a good amount of purchases there recently, only to find out they were abridged, but it did not say that on the book? Katie.
All those books are all my favorites and I have them all brings me back to my childhood xoxo 😚 🌹🌈🩵🩵🌈🌹💚📙🌺❣️🤍🩷🤍🌻🌻🩶🤍📖📖💙🥀🥀💖🌸❤️❤️❤️💜🪷🪻🌷💞💞🩶🤍🤍🌻❣️❣️❣️📚🩵🩵🌈🌹💚💕📚🌺🤍🩷🤍🩶
Jane Eyre is what I am currently reading and loving. As first in history Bildungsroman about strong women character with intellect, not constrained only to women beauty. Written in 1847 this is masterpiece
You have incredible collection of classics! Xoxo 😚 ❣️🩵🩵❣️🌈🌺🌈💕💙💕📚📙📚🌹🌹📚🤍🤍🩷❤️🔥🩶🩶💓📖💖🌸🥀📖📖🌹🌻📚📙📚🌻🌹🌹🌺🌈💚🩵🩵🩵❣️💚🌈🌈💕📙📙🌻🌹🌹💞🤍🩶🩷
