Ok I’m HELLA late to this, but I just wanted to say smthn.
Everyone has their own ideas of what the video means. But for me? This video LOOKS how Sleep Paralysis FEELS (for me anyway). Figures standing in corners. You’re being grabbed. Pinpricks on your back and along your skin. Talking to “someone” (when no one is there). The disorientation.
It’s scarily accurate.

It's inspired by Billie's experiences with sleep paralysis. The guy in the bed is her friend, rapper Crooks. He's just playing the role of the sleeper, while Billie is singing from the perspective of the sleep paralysis monster (monster under the bed) (sleep paralysis often comes with a feeling of some entity sitting on you, holding you down. I've experienced it once), and IIRC the lyrics/video reflect this weird love/hate relationship she (Billie) has with her inner demons.
I LOVE THE WAY that you guys ACTUALLY have respect! I was watching this other dudes hating and saying some dumb stuff that they didn’t even know what it MEANT or what the music is actually abt. Like bruh she out here living the best life she can live. My respect for ya’ll went 📈📈📈 now ya’ll get a new subscriber . Maybe ya’ll didn’t enjoy her music as much but ya’ll actually had RESPECT 🖤💚

Lol nevermind it's actually about suicide/self hate. The song is written in the pocket of a monster which is also in some way a version of her and how Billie herself isn't scared of it (since it's her) despite it being her enemy. Which is saying that she is her own enemy and also that her relationship with this monster is like a friendship even though the monster doesn't understand why Billie would think of it as such since it's not a "good" thing therefore making the monster want to 'end itself' and because of this it's like her (Billie) wanting to end her own life. The explanation I read was better at wording it but this is like the overall of it
she wrote this song about her nightmares and sleep paralysis,it's not about suicide she just wants her nightmares and problems away from her life
